Design & Functionality
Great looking and built to last, these long-handled totes stand on their own for easy packing and fold flat for convenient storage. Super-strong, they're an ideal replacement for paper and plastic shopping bags. The outer pocket is perfect for coupons, grocery lists or other small items. Also makes a great beach bag or carry on luggage.
Materials
The bags are made by taking old grain sacks and plastic water bottles, grinding them up, heating them into a type of thread, which is then woven to create a super-strong 95% post-consumer recycled polypropylene material. Only the handle, zipper and film required to screen the design are not made from recycled materials.
Sustainability
This bag can help you eliminate thousands of paper and plastic shopping bags over its lifetime, and choosing products made from post-consumer recycled materials promotes a more sustainable path for landfill-bound waste.

Brothers Mitch and Seth Nash founded Blue Q in 1988 and still own it today. For the past 15 years, the company has also been the largest local private employer of individuals with disabilities, who make up one quarter of the Blue Q workforce. The company has a close working relationship with the family-owned company in China that makes their bags. Any factories Blue Q partners with must pass rigorous inspections to ensure they meet high, ethical standards for employee care, product quality, and environmental responsibility.
Blue Q donates 1% of the sales of their bags and water bottles to the Nature Conservancy to help support global green initiatives. They are committed to a donation of at least $100,000 by April 19, 2013. See Nature.org for more information on their programs.

These bags are beautiful - even more so in real life than in the pictures, if possible. The designs are great, the colours are very vivid and the material is slightly shiny, which brings the colours out even more. Plus, they have nice long straps which are very comfortable when carrying them on your shoulders, and a handy pocket on the side, and the zipper closure is useful in bad weather, or when carrying small things you want to make sure don't fall out.The material was thinner than I expected from the description, and feels a bit flimsy - that's really my only reservation about them. But it may be more durable than it feels like. Only time will tell, I guess. Anyway, they're certainly by far the prettiest reusable bags I've seen yet.

I love this bag, hands down. I use it as a diaper bag. If anything spills, you just wipe it away, no worries. It is so durable, keeps its shape and I love the look and that it zips close. I love these bags!! I have been using them for at least a year every week for grocery shopping. They hold a great deal, and I have not had any issues with tearing or fallowing apart. These bags have zippers on the top, so they are great for caring other shopping bags in the car on on the bike. Nothing falls out! My grandchildren love putting stuff in them and taking them with us. Again, the zipper keeps the stuff in and the other stuff (bugs, leaves, lizards) out! By nina j

I bought this along with a few other types (see reviews) and I felt that it wasn't very durable-the material felt "plasticy". I didn't use it, so don't take my word that it is not durable-it may well be.I just FELT compared to the other types I had at my disposal (pun intended) that this wasn't worth the money. However, since I love what these brands and site stand for, I passed it along to my sister. Unsure if she has used it yet.

I gave 3 of these as gifts and kept one for myself. Thank goodness the straps wrap around the bottom of the tote, because the material does not seem very strong. I wouldn't trust it with a very heavy load. At least it's pretty. By Shelley H

This bag was very sturdy. I bought it for a young girl gettign mrried that wanted food for her briday shower. I put quite a few can and heavy items and this bag held up great.
