Design & Functionality
When used together with your reusable bottle, the Guyot TapGuard Water Filter eliminates the need for expensive, wasteful plastic water bottles. The activated carbon pouch removes 95% of chlorine, iodine & other bad-tasting chemicals while you drink. Just rinse the filter pouch in cool water and snap it inside the silicone filter, fill your reusable water with safe drinking water, pop in the TapGuard and sip through the grated opening. The TapGuard also doubles as a splash-guard for wide mouth bottles.
Materials
Safe, non-leaching food-grade silicone that does not hold odors or flavors. Activated carbon in a nylon mesh pouch, made right here in the USA. Carbon water filtration is a safe and effective method for removing unpleasant tastes and odors from tap water.

Care Instructions
Rinse filter pouch in cool water for one minute prior to use. Hand wash silicone filter using mild soap and water. Replace filter after 100 liters.

3.0 My only objection is the material

I've had this filter for about a week now. I have it in a Nalgene bottle. It's a great invention—the design keeps the charcoal filter wet even when the water level's low. Sometimes the water will spill out of the top hole when you tilt it too much. My only complaint is the smell of the plastic-rubber material that it's made out of.
