Nearly impossible for an adult to close let alone a small child. I never use them because even if I get them closed my daughter can't reseal them and that makes for a mess. She sometimes has a hard time opening too because there is no tab. Very Expensive for something that gets no use. By Vanessa R

I bought these for my neice last year and they are used every weekday for snacks in school. Her parents love them and they cut down on waste. So, with my nephew going to school next year I decided to pick up some more. They're excellent, the perfect size to fit a variety of snacks and fruit or crackers don't get crushed in lunch bags! I have to echo the other reviewers' sentiments about the lids. Despite the name, my partner and I have used these containers more than my stepdaughter--you need strong hands to close the lid tightly so that it really seals. Stepdaughter is 10 now, but when she was younger she had more trouble closing them (tightly) than opening them. Otherwise: the quality of the steel is excellent, and the containers are easy to care for and durable. Thanks! By Noel C

I got 2 sets of these at the end of summer, for use in my son's lunchbox. yes, pricey, but so it goes. They should also market these for camping. We nested them for an end of season trip, & used the 2 large bowls for eating from. Opens & closes very securely. My 10 year old has no problem but a very young child might not have the hand strength to open or close. I'm glad I got 2 sets. Makes it easier when I unpack the lunchbox late & need to make lunch in the a.m. Also sometimes you need more, or different sizes. These are of a good quality metal & they & the lids dishwasher fine. I use them too, as needed. I find them very versatile & exactly as wanted. Only issue is you must cut your sandwiches carefully to fit them in. Fine if you use a round loaf like artisan sourdough, trickier if you use traditional rectangular slices. I know there are rectangular metal boxes, but I saw the one with the pop up lid in a store & worried that the plastic would be weak at the fold point. So I just trim the corners, shove the sandwich in this, & we're good to go. By Alane W

I carry these in my messenger bag on my bike to work. They are great! I never worry about them leaking in my "purse" because they seal perfectly. I use one for my morning fruit, one for my snacktime veggie, and the large one for my main lunch. At the end of the day they nestle together and go back into my bag! No more plastic baggies, and my food is well protected in these high quality containers. I purchased these as an alternative to plastic baggies and bowls for my sons school lunch. So far, so good. He is 5 and has no trouble removing the lids or putting the lids back on. We haven't put anything liquidy in the bowls so can't attest to leaking. I only hand wash them, so they are looking good as far as quality. Great for chips or anything else that may get squished. They look little but seem to hold a lot! He loves them. I am only giving them a 4 star verse 5 star rating because they are made in China. I try to stay away from products made there due to poor quality over the years (tainted dog food, baby formula, lead paint on childrens toys, etc). By Deborah S

I'm so happy to finally be able to get rid of that gladware plastic! The varied sizes make them much more useful and they clean easily. The only drawback I've found is that kids have difficulty securing the lids tightly. If there is leftover applesauce or yogurt, it ends up all over the lunchbox. I purchased the bowls for my kids lunch bags. They often take yogurt or fruit, so we needed good bowls for that. I had tried a few different types of small glass bowls with lids, but the food always leaked out in the kids lunch bag. I got one order even though we need more then that so we could test them out first. They are very expensive. I wanted to know we liked them before buying 3 or 4 sets. We use them daily, and not a single leak. The lids come off very easy, although my younger kids (7 and 10) sometimes have to get help to open them. I love these! The nesting part is perfect for that annoying aspect of reusable containers, where they just start taking up space, and can no longer be stored. They're fun and cute, and the leak proof part works great! I had yogurt in one, and nary a spill, even though my lunch bag got knocked about when it fell off of my seat in my car. I have had the opportunity to use these nesting storage containers for about one month. Love the fact that the lids seal tightly and nothing is spilled in my lunch bag. At the end of the meal, I simply place them one inside the other to transport them home again. A friend of mine, who is also trying to eliminate plastic storage bags, purchased a set for herself after she saw me carry them for lunch. The three sizes are perfect for a good portion lunch. These containers have been exactly what we needed. I bought them because my daughter outgrew her Laptop lunchbox and I thought individual containers would hold more food. I was right and these have not disappointed. They're the perfect size for a sandwich (large container), something like apple slices in the middle one, and even the small container is a generous size. We've been looking a long time for stainless steel containers to replace the heavy-duty glass ones we'd been using for our kids' lunchboxes. We wanted something that was leak-proof, felt substantial and could stand daily use. We found it in the Kids Konserve Stainless Steel Food Container! We ordered two sets, and placed another order for another two sets within a month of using them. Other parents have come up and asked us about the food containers. The only issue is that the lids are a little hard to put/take off so I worry about sending to school with kids without any adult help. I've been looking for a leak proof container for our lunches and these are perfect. They ended up being larger than I expected but, the smallest one is great for dressing dip, salsa, and more. Since it is a tight seal, it's a bit hard to close them correctly for kids. My daughter already came home with leftover spilled ranch dressing in her lunchbox :( I just told her to empty her container before she puts it in her box. It should be easy for adults. I like the fact that it's stainless steel even though it cannot be use in the microwave. Very nice design. The nesting feature minimize storage space. The lids are tighly sealed. They are smaller than I expected from seeing the pictures on the web. The lid says it's for kids (or the kids product) and maybe that's why it's kind of small for adults.
