Volume: 14 ounces

Design & Functionality
Ornately decorated, Libre polycarbonate and glass beverage bottles are a smart way to enjoy hot tea without the waste of paper cups and tea bags. The lightweight exterior is more durable than an all-glass version, making it ideal for travel as well as home and office use. These wide-mouth bottles can be used for hot or cold drinks, and the double-wall insulation helps keep beverages at the ideal temperature. The roomy interior of the Libre glass bottle gives tea plenty of room to steep in hot water, and the stainless steel filter allows water to pass through without allowing leaves to escape. Plus, you can re-steep high-quality teas several times, creating less waste and saving money.

Brew tea two ways:

Method One:
1. Remove lid and tea filter, add 2-3 grams (1 teaspoon) of loose-leaf tea into glass
2. Replace filter, add hot water (do not fill all the way to the top), let tea steep 3-5 minutes without lid
3. Sip your tea from your tea glass and add lid for 'on the go,' or pour into tea cup at home

Method Two (for teas with limited steep times):
1. Remove lid and filter, carefully add hot water to the glass (do not fill all the way to the top)
2. Twist on filter securely, add 2-3 grams (1 teaspoon) of loose-leaf tea on top of filter
3. Wait 2-3 minutes prior to twisting on lid so steam pressure does not force a leak upon inverting
4. After a brief cool down period, twist on lid securely
5. Slowly turn upside-down to steep tea
6. Twist off lid and filter together
7. Drink tea from tea glass (Note: Spent tea leaves remain in the filter and can be reused)

Sustainability
Using a reusable bottle helps replace wasteful use-and-toss, single-serving paper cups and paper tea bags, while saving money in the process. Reusing durable glass bottles helps you consume less over time. Bottle is 100% recyclable.

About LIbre
Inspired by a trip to China, Libre founder Wendy Weir developed the tea glass as a means to inspire "tea moments" no matter the time or location. Tea has a rich culture in China, with ancient associations of quieting the mind, enjoying friends and as a refuge for the spirit and soul. She noticed that almost everyone had loose-leaf tea with them - the bus drivers, the office and construction workers, moms, dads and grandparents - everyone drank tea all the time! Wendy was advised that for good health, one drank tea all day - green tea is for morning, red tea for afternoon and pu'er for the evening. After purchasing a loose-leaf tea container in Changsha, the idea for Libre tea glasses was born.

Care Instructions
Clean before first use with soap and warm water, hand wash.

Tips
  • The Libre tea polycarbonate and glass is thermal because it is double walled - so hot tea stays hot and cold tea stays cold.
  • The lid will fit directly into the tea glass if you choose to omit the filter connector after steeping. Or, use it with just the lid for any of your favorite beverages.
  • If you experience leaking, check to ensure that rubber seals are in place in both the filter connector and the lid. Also, ensure that there are no tea leaves on the threads where the pieces twist together and that these surfaces are dry - tea bits and water bubbles can compromise the seal.

5.0 Great idea! - Bought as a gift

Comments about Product:

I bought this as a birthday present for a friend that loves her tea - not a big coffee drinker.

She loved it!

I haven't personally used this product but my friend loves how it looks & that it's actually functional.

She said she loves walking around her office with it & having people ask where she got it from :)

Will be buying one for my husband & myself!

5.0 one more thing

Comments about Product:

Libre tea is great. The other brands with the double pane glass thermoses come with a strainer you have to lift out which I've had fly off trying to pry them off and sometimes the leaves would all fall in the tea and I have even bent the strainer trying to get it out so it doesnt fit anymore. So check the specs on your tea thermoses when it comes to the strainer mechanisms.

5.0 Tea to go makes outings delightful!

Comments about Product:

I LOVE my Libretea! Mine didn't smell at all like the other review had mentioned and I"m very sensitive to smells and probably would have sent mine back if it had one. The libretea does not leak but you have to really make an effort to line it up so it screws on correctly. It gets a bit hot when you have to squeeze off the strainer part but I just use a paper towel or dish towel. I pour the hot water from a regular pot so it gets messy and I noticed that the tea goes in easier if you tilt the tea vessel, like pouring beer I guess. lol. Mine stays warm for about 3 or 4 hours, it's just so nice to be able to tote this around and not worry about it shattering in your bag. I"ve brought it to yoga class often and it's toppled over and nothing happened. I do wish there was a sippy opening option, but ONLY as an option that you can slide open if desired because I prefer sipping on the glass part and wish the lip of the glass was a bit longer but aside from the little things it's a great product. Before this, I've had 3 ecovessels which are double plane glass and they all shattered within one week of use. The bottom just comes completely off and sometimes you don't hear or realize it, it's paper thin glass but I saw another company make a similar double glass product and it looks like they are finally using thicker glass.

3.0 Smells at first, easily breakable

Comments about Product:

The first few times I used the bottle it smelled something terrible, and I just don't know why. Anyway, enough elbow grease and dish soap will cure that. Once that was settled the water bottle worked quite well, I used it for coffee and tea pretty frequently and without issue. I forgot sometimes since it was glass that it could be hot, which lead to a few burns. Eventually you'll remember and it'll be fine.

The issue for me is durability. It took two weeks for this bottle to shatter into a million shards. The construction isn't that solid, so now I am moving on to a new bottle. A drop of about 2-3 feet on a rug mind you caused this. I know it is glass and the better thing to do is just not drop it, but I've seen silicone-encased glass before that takes shocks fairly well.

If you need something with any degree of durability, this is NOT the bottle for you. If you are super-careful about where and how you use your bottle, this might be a good solution.

5.0 Great idea

Comments about Product:

This is a flask that was crying out to be invented.

When I travelled round China in 1983 every Chinese person had a jamjar of tea. It started the day hot, and it was sipped from all day long, and replenished with boiling water through the day. Free boiling water seemed to be a basic human right, and quite right too.

This flask is the Chinese jamjar reinvented for this century. The tea stays hot, and the leaves stay in the flask, so no tea leaves to spit back into the jar.

One small improvement would be to make the lid completely flat and not convex, so that the flask can be upturned on a table to let the leaves trapped in the lid infuse.

Transparently a great product.

I was pleasantly surprised at its quick shipping time to the UK.

5.0 Love this

Comments about Product:

I have a couple of loose leaf tea travel mugs. This one is the easiest to use, you don't have to pull out a little wire to remove the tea leaves, you just take the cap off and you can drink. It's sturdy and keeps my tea hot. It is easy to clean out and was cheaper than the other double wall travel tea mugs I have bought.
