2.0 Great until the zipper came off

The bag itself is really nice. Durable handles and sturdy sides. It is great as long as you don't want to zip it closed. My zipper came UN-stitched after only three uses. So now the bag is sitting on my sewing machine waiting for me to fix it before I can really use it again. It is pretty disappointing because other than the zipper the bag is really nice and a good price. I probably won't buy again, because I don't know how it will hold up long term if the zipper came off so quickly. By Rita L

We love our Insulated grocery bags!! We had ordered these bags previously and liked them so much and had so many compliments from grocery store checkers that we ordered more. They are so sturdy that I use them for all my groceries, not just the cold items. The handle straps are so easy to carry and I love the zipper tops! Our previous order had the velcro closing, which I liked until the bagger tried to open the top without undoing the velcro and the straps ripped down the side...hence ordering these newer bags. We now have 10 of these bags and I bring them in to all the stores I shop at; Walmart, Target,etc. any store that uses plastic, which I don't care for. By CD D

This is actually our second order for these bags. We ordered 3 originally for cold items, but they worked so well we bought more for all items. On the plus side they are really strong and the construction is solid. The zippers don't stick (a sure sign of chincy bags), the handles are attached quite well (critical with as much weight as they hold) and the bottoms don't bow when they are filled. The only minor detractor is they are not as well insulated as the bags we replaced, but they are plenty insulated for our slogs back and forth to the grocery store. Big thumbs up! By Shawna B

I looked at several sites and different options before deciding on these. They were a very good price compared to those I had seen on the other sites. They are constructed quite well and have a good zipper. I have used them several times now and have noticed a couple drawbacks. First, they will not keep food cold UNLESS you use a cold pack. I use ones that are appx 8"x8"x2". Second, they don't keep food cold for as long as they could because the zipper does not form an air-tight seal at the top. This allows for the cold air to easily escape. I only have them in the car for about 1 1/2 hours and the cold packs positioned on the bottom are half unthawed by the time I get home. To give you some idea, I live near the Outer Banks of NC and the temperatures have been in the high 80's when I have used them. I am pleased with them, however, because they keep the produce from wilting and that was my biggest concern. Cold drinks, like milk and orange juice, are cool - not cold - to the touch once I get them home. I have not tried to purchase any frozen items as of yet. I hope this review is helpful! By Alice T

This zippered insulated grocery bag is great. I have another insulated bag with a Velcro closing that baggers often have trouble with. If they don't, or can't, close the bag it defeats the purpose of keeping the cold air inside. But, with this bag, you can easily see the zipper, which indicates that the bag is to be zippered closed after filling. And it holds a lot. I live 20 minutes from my grocery store and this bag keeps frozen items frozen and refrigerated items cold during my drive home. This is the handiest bag and is so easy to load. I love it that it closes with a zipper rather than Velcro. I was surprised how much can fit in this bag, and other customers at the grocery store have asked me where I got it; I always tell them! Living in Miami, grocery shopping is a challenge. I used the cheaper version of the hot-cold bags and they cannot handle the weight. These insulated bags are tough and my cold items make it home, which can take up to 40 mins. For frozen items, I add an ice pack or two to be on the safe side. I would highly recommend it. These are amazing! I can't keep the bags to myself! Family and friends keep taking them! The grocery clerks always comment on their quality and easy-fill design. They are sturdy and really keep food cold, even in hot & humid SC summers! I also use them as travel coolers since I can fill them up on the 'hit the road' trip and collapes them totally flat on the 'return home' trip. I have 5 of these in my car at all times. Even though they are insulated, I use them for all kinds of shopping. These bags can hold a lot, especially when you don't need to zip it closed. I have had one zipper start to pull away from the bag but that's not a problem given that I have so many. I have also recently purchased some for friends and family. I use this bag for square things, boxes, or large things that aren't too heavy. I love the shape and the hard bottom. I use Built neoprene bags for heavy items - glass & cans. I use a "bucket bag" for really big things like toilet paper and paper towels. I have a couple of canvas & nylon bags too for other stuff if I run out of space. To keep the cashiers from getting them too heavy.... I open one of each bag in my basket (I hang the others off the side) and "bag" as I shop - so what I want to have in each bag is placed in there when I pick it up. When one gets full, I open another bag on top of it. At the checkout counter, instead of having to lean over the basket, unloading a hundred small items one at a time, I just put my bags up on the counter. The cashiers say they like them and can often ring things up with their wand right in the bag. If its a bunch of little things they get dumped out and rebagged in the same bag. It makes grocery shopping much easier for me, especially at the checkout. And of course at home, unpacking is SO much easier because I pre-sorted as I shopped - a bag of toiletries gets unloaded in the bathroom - cleaning supply bags in the laundry room, pantry items in the pantry, cold items at the fridge. The price of this bag was in my range and I was looking to replace to insulated bags I purchased from our commissary. The reusable bags from the commissary are cheap and falling apart so I was looking for something in a higher price range with better quality. I found it. This bag is very, very sturdy and durable. The teenager commissary baggers insist on cramming every cold item in one of these bags. I swear, the bag weighed 20 pounds (at least) by the time they were done shoving everything in there. The handles held tight and there was no apparent strain on the material of the bag. The only real issue with this bag is the zipper. The bag doesn't completely seal, which is no big deal to me, but might be something significant to others. The zipper though is very, very cheap. It slides off of the teeth very easily; now granted, all I do is take it back to the beginning and it slides back on, but it can be a pain sometimes. Most the time we do not even bother to zip it; even with the bag wide open it still helps keep the items cooler than just some cheap plastic sack. The time that the baggers crammed our 20 pounds of cold goods in the bag, it popped the zipper when we picked it up. Needless to say, if you are looking for something that closes completely and will continue to stay closed, you may want to consider paying more money for something more reliable. By Robert W

I have used my reusable bags for approx 2 weeks. I love that they are larger than the ones I purchased from the local grocery store, but I have to caution the people bagging not to overload, not because of the bag but because of me!! I can't lift when they are loaded with heavy items. The insulated bags have done I a good job so far. I'm concerned about the zipper they seem to be a little fragile. Due to a poor bagging job I ended up with meat in an uninsulated bag and love how easy they were to wash. Issuing credit for a returned item was faster than advertised. By NANCY W

I bought 6 bags to replace the 6 cheap insulated zippered bags I had purchased through my local grocery store. I wasn't keen on spending $6.95 for an insulated bag, especially since I could buy new $.99 ones at the grocery store. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for! These are well constructed. The plastic insert that sits on the bottom makes them very easy to pack, very stable and keeps them upright in the car. When it's time to fold up the bag, the insert easily slides up so the bag is folded flat. I keep one bag with the insert flat and the other bags are inserted inside that bag to make them easy to transport and store. A bag will easily hold 6 2-liter sodas (admittedly, very heavy) and I was even able to carefully get the zipper closed! The reflective insulation and padding seems adequate, definitely better than the store bags which worked quite well. The size is deceiving and they hold considerably more than the ones I replaced so I probably could have gotten away with buying just 4 bags. They were worth the money and I expect them to last a long time. By Carrie P

I like the insulative qualities of this bag, but I've only used it once and already the super-cheap zipper stopped working. what's an insulated bag without closure? a regular bag with a shiny inside. The warm weather is just beginning - but I did use this bag to take food to my daughter in plastic containers. Since her refrigeraters were full because of entertaining, she just left the food in the insulated bag (that also had some ice packs) and was able to have it for their eveing meal. Would be five if zipper completely closed the bag. However, I don't use mine for cold foods (although the idea of a carrier for hot foods is a good one); I have other bags (Ingles) that are better insulated and zip completely closed, into each of which (I have five) I toss an ice pack before I leave the house. If I forget the ice pack, I always keep a doubled zip-lock bag in each for ice from the drink machines. The Pack-N-Tote bags I used for rectangular boxed items that don't fit well into my builtNY neoprene bags (have 6 & they are SO useful for so many things, plus one will hold 6 large jars of spaghetti sauce and are still easy to carry, I think because of the springiness of the neoprene). The large square shape of the bag and especially the hard bottom are the best features to me - a wider, longer, harder bottom than a paper bag. Ann By Laurie L

This is a very sturdy bag. It is very well constructed and keeps your cold or frozen foods cold and frozen pretty well. There are very few improvements that I would suggest ,but if I had to suggest any at all it would be that the zip closure close completely so that no cold air can escape an no outside air come in . Not great insulators for this Florida heat, but I put my cold things in one in the grocery cart as I shop and then have the cashier take them out to scan them, and I have a second one to bag them in whenever she gets finished. Won't keep things cold in the car long periods but good for short trips to the corner store. Good for putting things from fast food places in it to keep the food warm. Very spacious, but I always run out of room. For the sale price, I got two for each of three cars. Whenever they have frozen or cold things i them, we put the whole bag inside a Sam's insulated bag that will keep things cold or frozen for 4 hours. Hard to fold for ease in carrying--can only fold once and put a rubber band around it to keep it folded. Long zipper nice, but leaves a gap open at one end--probably has to. Roomy bag--I fill it up as I go in the grocery story to keep the things cold. I should be taking a second one, so the items can be taken out of the first bag and put into the second one after scanning. I love the zipper but widh there wre no gaps at the end of the zipper. I like the color of the bag, and I like the insulation. I would like wider straps for this because once I put in a few frozen items, this thing is heavy, and the smaller straps dig into my hands or my shoulder. Also, the zipper is a great feature, but I'm already having problems with it after just a few uses. I don't know how long the zipper will hold up. Otherwise, the bag does what it needs to do - keeps my cold food cold until I get home from the store. By Karen A

The pack & tote insulated bags work great. The zipper closure is a plus in that the top doesn't keep popping open every time I pick it up. The options of a reinforced bottom keeps the corners from wearing out. The cloth handles are easier to carry than a hard piece of plastic. The reusable produce bags work great also. They fold into a small size which I like. They hold the produce with an attached elastic top, the scanner tags on the produce are easily readable through the mesh, and the weight does not add to the price of the produce. My mother already uses reusable bags for her grocery shopping, and I got her this one for her cold or hot items. When she goes to the grocery store, she now uses this bag to carry all her other bags. It is a nice size for an older person, because it's small enough that you can't load it too heavily to be carried. I don't think this bag would hold up to the rigors of my own heavy use, but it is suitable for light use, has a good handle length, and closes with a zipper to keep the contents at the desired temperature.View All
