Design & Functionality
Nalgene Ultralite HDPE 48 oz. Wide-Mouth Bottles are the largest, ultra-lightweight, economical, and dent-proof bottles we have on our site. Fill it up in the morning & stay hydrated all day long. Also perfect for road trips - use it to repeatedly fill smaller bottles and avoid buying wasteful bottled water. Permanent graduations on the bottle allow for easy measuring and mixing of powdered foods and drinks. The large wide-mouth opening makes hand-washing a breeze. Plus, you can freeze these bottles unlike metal bottles (allow room for expansion).
Materials
Use a humangear capCAP to add a narrow spout to your wide-mouth bottle for easy drinking.
Along with polypropylene (#5), HDPE (#2) is a safe, non-leaching plastic. Both plastics are dishwasher safe and able to withstand temperatures from -148 to 248° F (-100 to 120° C).
HDPE is a sturdy and reliable translucent plastic. Nalgene bottles made from HDPE resist UV penetration, which can damage and discolor the plastic. Nalgene® bottles feature FDA compliant materials and are tested according to the requirements of the US FDA for food and beverages.
Sustainability
Nalgene bottles are reusable and 100% recyclable. Single-use, disposable water bottles (PET plastic) create millions of tons of unnecessary waste each year. According to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled. Using Nalgene reusable bottles helps preserve natural resources while saving you money in the process.
