This ONYX food container is not leak-proof, do not use for liquids
For maximum insulation efficiency: pre-heat or pre-cool just prior to use, fill with hot/cold tap water, attach lid, let stand for 5 to 10 minutes and empty
Write on the container with a non-permanent marker. This helps to specify the contents, date and owner

3.0 water can get in them

Comments about Product:

One inconvenience is that the make is not as good as it could be and water will get inside the walls if placed in the dishwasher, hence the warning "do not put in dishwasher". I am stuck with them as this is a big discouragement for me to use them as much as I could. Also the lock could have been designed to skip the small tray when not needed. Rather Impractical for me.

1.0 Doesn\'t work for keeping food hot

I bought this for my son to take hot food to school for lunch. It does NOT WORK AT ALL. In the description it said "keep food hot for hours" - well..... it doesn't.

We have a Nissan Thermos Jar, and that works extremely well, but it is somewhat limited to liquids and pasta because of its shape. I was looking for a container for other food options.

If you're looking for something to keep your food warm, even only for a while, don't buy this.

5.0 My favorite container

I love stainless steel tiffins and have a collection of different sizes and brands by now. This one is most definitely my favorite and gets the most use. It's the perfect size and I love that it has a tray inside. I also appreciate that it is double walled so I dont worry as much if I don't have it in a lunch bag with an ice pack (depending on the food I have in there of course). Also the clips on the side are easy to open and close, even for my 5 yr old. Some other tiffins feel like I'm going to break my fingers off trying to unlatch them. I actually am planning to purchase this brand in the sandwich size for my kids to take to school. Those ones aren't double walled but my kids always have ice packs in their lunch bags so it shouldn't be a problem. Also the pricing on these containers is excellent, making me not mind buying them in multiples. I get lots of compliments on my tiffins, but this one fits my needs perfectly. I give this product a full 5 stars and I recommend it to friends all the time!
