I bought this glass water bottle to keep in the frig to have cold (very cold) water when I want it. This bottle does have a small neck opening, but it has a loop handle on top, and a very solid lid. Nearly the whole bottle is covered by the silicone sleeve, while there is a vertical slit in the side so you can see how much liquid is left in the bottle. This is a really nice glass water bottle. I love the idea of a glass bottle vs. the plastic but this one in particular doesn't work well for me. It's ok but there are others that I prefer. I don't like the small mouth because my ice doesn't fit. It's winter so I don't need much ice but in the summer I won't find use for this bottle. It is also very heavy. I've since purchased another which seems a bit lighter. but in general the downside to glass is that is is very heavy. By Wanda P

Honestly, I haven't used this water bottle yet. I bought two different bottles and am using the other one, the lifefactory bottle. the Takeya is a good size (diameter) it seems a little tall. I like the "loop" lid better on the other bottle than the attached carry look on the Takeya. Not saying I don't like it, just haven't tried it. By Toni L

The glass water bottle works great. I generally just drink water and hate buying water. This glass bottle is easy to keep at my desk, take to ball games, etc. The sleeve works good so the bottle doesn't sweat. If there were one improvement, I would say a more insulated sleeve so the water stays cold for a longer period of time. But overall, I am happy with my purchase of this product, and of course, doing my part in keeping plastic bottles out of the land fills. By Colleen G

If a water bottle is comfortable to drink out of, I'll use it. I love this bottle and swear I'm drinking more water because of it! It's nice to look at, feels heavy and good in my hand, dishwashes great, and the mouth is wide enough to slip in ice cubes. I have several metal water bottles but I wanted a glass one to keep in the car - I thought glass would not warm up as easily as metal in warm weather. It is just the right size - not too big, not too small, and thin enough to carry comfortably. I like the silicone sleeve with the peek-a-boo sides so you can see how much water is left in the bottle. I use it for all my errands, car trips and tennis games. It fits in my purse, which is convenient.I recommend it.

The bottle was definitely taller than I expected, and glass is a heavy alternative. However, the size of it came to be a good thing for my bike ride into work on heavy-pollen, hot days. In the last couple of years I have put my faith in good old fashioned glass to hold the water that I drink. With all of the information out there attempting to confuse and conquer I just decided that glass was the safest, greenest and most easily cleaned water bottle on the market. The only problem was that it actually wasn't on the market...until now. Ever since I made the switch I have been searching for a glass water bottle not only to drink out of but to be the last glass water bottle I ever buy...for myself anyway. The problem with glass is that it breaks easily...obviously. The Takeya 22.5 oz water bottle provides a great solution for this in the form of a removable silicone sleeve. Of course if you drop the bottle from any height there is a chance it will break but the sleeve gives you the piece of mind that it has the needed protection to prevent breaks under normal water bottle usage. The bottle, sleeve and cap are dishwasher safe and the 22.5 oz bottle does not seem abnormally large in any way. It holds the perfect amount of water and has a handy plastic ring that you can use to carry, strap to your bag or just hold onto. I've had the bottle for nearly a month and had no problems with it. The cap seems to seal well and boiling water or a run through the dishwasher gets rid of any odors that you may get after a week or so of every day usage. Honestly the only gripe I have about the bottle is that the clip is loose so it can fall into your face as you drink but this is easily remedied if you hold it out of the way as you do so. If you are looking for an all-around great glass water bottle or thinking about converting and aren't sure if glass is for you I would highly recommend you spend the $ and buy the Takeya 22.5 oz glass water bottle. What I like about this bottle is that it is glass. I don't get that metal taste with the stainless steel bottles. And, I don't have to worry about plastic bi-products getting into my drinks. The glass is thick enough that I am not worrying about breaking it. I like the silicon sleeve. Gives it an extra layer of protection as well as shielding for hot drinks. The only drawback about this bottle is that the mouth on it is slightly narrow. Which means it is more challenging to clean with a bottle brush.View All
