Average Product Life Cycle

We've pegged a conservative average life cycle for high-quality reusables at 4 years. A few items will last less than this, but most will last much longer. As skeptical consumers ourselves, we only select items that meet our strict criteria for quality, style, performance, durability, value, safety and ecological impact. As everyone haphazardly jumps on the reusables band wagon, we're being flooded with cheap reusables that have short life cycles and poor design - in reality, they are just contributing to the problem! We only offer long-lasting products with smart design - products people are passionate about and will use day-in and day-out for many years.

Number of Use & Toss Items Each Reusable Replaces Per Year

We know perfection is tough and certainly not the goal. Rather, our goal is significant reduction through smart tools that promote conscious consumption. We can make a big impact if everyone just does a little bit. That's why our figures assume customers only use each reusable in place of a disposable three times a week.

For example, if you take your stainless steel water bottle with you just a few days a week, you'll easily save three disposable plastic water bottles or cups - probably more! If you use a reusable bag on just a few trips to the store, you can easily avoid 3 plastic bags. Even for a beginner, these are two very reasonable and minor lifestyle changes. Once you get in the habit, in all likelihood, you'll save many more disposables.
