Erin PetersErin began her green journey on her 28th birthday when she realized with a start that she'd been an adult for ten years without saving the world (like she'd planned as a teenager). She wondered, "What am I doing with my life?" Since then, she has been blogging almost daily about the intersection of frugality and green living at The Conscious Shopper, The Green Phone Booth, and The Sustainable Triangle. She is also involved with helping her city improve public transit and establish community gardens. Erin lives in Raleigh, NC with her four favorite fellows (her husband and three sons).
Becky Striepe Becky is an independent crafter and freelance writer living in Atlanta, GA, with her husband and two cats. She's passionate about eco-friendly living, delicious vegan eats, and DIY solutions to day-to-day problems. Her indie business, Glue and Glitter, is all about using existing materials in products that help folks waste less without feeling deprived. Becky believes in the power of little changes: using cloth napkins instead of paper or a reusable bag instead of a plastic one. Her contributions to several green blogs, and her eco-friendly creations are sure to inspire.
Derek FridayBeyond the day-to-day chaos of acting as a graphic design professional, husband, father and overly committed trail runner in Boulder, CO, Derek spends most of his spare moments chasing down concepts, designs, movements and messages for his blog, Finndustry. From habitually practicing the obvious and critical “three R’s” to participating in the Spin Farming movement, a socially and environmentally conscious lifestyle has been hardwired into his everyday practices for most of his life. Derek is looking forward to communicating and celebrating our mission, and most certainly learning immeasurably along the way.
Mary Ellen EtienneThere's no way around it - Mary Ellen is passionate about reuse. As the founder and Executive Director of Reuse Alliance she works to develop and implement a range of programs & services that help strengthen reuse organizations and raise public awareness about the triple bottom line benefits of reuse (people, planet, prosperity). For over 13 years she's worked in the field she loves - NY WasteMatch, Materials for the Arts, NYC Materials Exchange Development Program, and the London Community Recycling Network - and she is proud to serve on the board of three fantastic reuse organizations.
Lisa SharpLisa is a stay-at-home wife, photographer, and writer living in a small not-so-eco-friendly town in Oklahoma. While always having an interest in the environment, Lisa didn’t become truly green until she became sick from Fibromyalgia and started searching for ways to get better. After learning how toxic the products she was using were, she quickly started looking for natural alternatives. One thing led to another and now she is the family hippie, doing things like getting her favorite local restaurant to stock organic vodka, joining her local recycling coalition, and driving her husband crazy by reading every label and telling him why he shouldn’t eat the things he loves. In hopes of sharing her love for the environment with others and saving her husband from having to listen to her talk for hours on end about going green, she started her blog Retro Housewife Goes Green. She now writes for a few sites, all about environmental issues. Even with her online outlets she still drives her husband, family, and friends crazy with all her "knowledge" about the environment.
Tiffany WashkoTiffany is a midwestern, vegetarian mom and journalist who has been blogging about green family living for six years. In a world of rampant consumerism and technology that causes a disconnect between ourselves and nature she and her family do their best to live as lightly as possible, enjoy the natural world around us all, and share the journey with others. She enjoys finding creative ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle and her interests include local food, raw foods, environmental activism, yoga, backpacking, and hiking. In a previous life she was a marketing and advertising executive working in a major metropolitan city and the owner of a manufacturing and distribution company until her children inspired her to deviate from that path and find "greener" pastures.
Rusty KellerRusty's mission is to help modern families (including her own) remove themselves from the traditional rat race by taking simple steps toward scaling back, by reusing what we already have, and recycling what is leftover. Rusty is a green living columnist, an independent Eco-Consultant, Marketing Director, and a member of the Jackson County Master Recyclers program. Rusty helps residents and businesses of the beautiful Southern Oregon area implement proven green strategies and solutions and starts them on the path to a healthier, safer and more sustainable lifestyle. Rusty is the married mom of two and spends her spare time listening to anything Jack White creates, playing in her fledgling organic garden, and green crafting upcycled jewelry and multimedia collage, as well as handcrafted and natural home and body products.

Lenore SkenazyTwo days after Lenore wrote the column, "Why I Let My 9-year-Old Ride The Subway Alone," she found herself on The Today Show, MSNBC, FoxNews and NPR, defending herself as NOT "America’s Worst Mom." But Google that phrase and there you’ll find her –11 million times. She started her blog, Free Range Kids, to explain she believes in safety – but not that our kids need a security detail every time they leave the house. The blog lead to her book, also "Free-Range Kids," which champions common sense parenting in these uncommonly overprotective times. A newspaper reporter for 20 years (and Mad Magazine contributor!), she lives in New York City with her husband and two middle school sons.
Jennifer DavisJennifer goes by many names these days: writer, professor, mommy, domestic goddess - just to name a few. She started her blog, A Daily Dose of Davis, in 2008 as a way of documenting her journey through motherhood. Along the way, Jen realized that in order to be a truly "green" mom, she would have to make some serious changes in her life. She started with reusable shopping bags and reusable homemade baby food containers. But the satisfaction that came from making these small changes sparked an even greater desire to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Today, Jen is developing a new weekly segment on her blog called "Eco-Friendly Friday" where she will share tips, links and ideas for moms and anyone else looking to go green in their own home.
Nicole JohnsonNicole is the author of BizziMommi's Blog. After being told for years that she had a big mouth, she decided to put it to work and share her opinions, ideas and product reviews with the world. A mother of three boys, she lives her life on the go and believes that many parents don't have the time to do the research that could help them make better choices for their families health and for the environment. That's why she shares her finds with her readers to make living green an easy choice!
Erin AddiegoErin is a freelance writer and stay-at-home mama to two charming children - one who crawls and one who toddles. She spends much of her day having her hair pulled, getting spit up upon, and trying to explain mysteries such as just what sound a turtle makes. Erin is dedicated to practicing (and preaching about) reuse, sustainability, local & organic farming and the avoidance of GMO's in the American food supply. She's teaching her children the importance of urban farming with a quaint little vegetable garden, a massive strawberry patch and eight hens roaming about the backyard. In her spare time, she sews and crafts sweet things for wee people. She puts her MFA in creative writing to work on her blog, Valley Girl Has Baby, Goes Crunchy.
Karma HudsonKarma is a crunchy mama dedicated to giving her children the best possible chance of a healthy and chemical-free life. Known in her community as the go-to person for info on household toxins, safer plastics, and product recalls, Karma loves to share the information she finds - especially if it could have a positive effect on another person’s health or happiness. In addition to supporting a local farm’s CSA, she organized a co-op purchasing club in her area to reduce the costs of supporting natural and organic companies. Her children are being taught the importance of conservation, respect for their environment, and an independence from a perceived need for disposables. In those few minutes of time free from raising her twins, Karma can be found squirreled away in her little sewing room, making miles of ruffles and designing adorable custom outfits for kids all over the internet. Karina Tipton and Jenn SturialeKarina and Jenn are the choosers behind Tiny Choices. They’re old friends who often found themselves thinking about the tiny choices we make and how they impact the rest of the world. Purchases, food, states of mind – they all impact something, somewhere, in some way. And Karina and Jenn are the kinds of people who consider every possibility before moving ahead. That doesn’t mean they always make an ecologically sound decision, and it doesn’t mean that everything they buy is made from compostable hemp-based plastic grown on a co-op farm and processed in a fair-labor factory. But they believe the point is to think and consider, and move from a place of contemplation. They try to tread lightly, and sometimes that works out, and sometimes it doesn’t.
Cassandra HautalaCassandra lives in Green Bay, WI. She’s a stay at home mom passionate about the reusable lifestyle, traveling, spending time with her family, volunteering at her daughter's school, and feeding her family an all-natural, organic diet. Cassandra says she wants her daughter to grow up in a healthy environment where the reusable lifestyle comes naturally to her. At five years old, her daughter already tells cashiers that she has her own bags and is proud of her no waste snack kit that she brings to school every day! As an ambassador, Cassandra hopes to help others learn that it does not take a lot of effort to make a huge difference.
Suzannah PaulSuzannah is a former urbanite who now lives full-time at a Christian summer camp with her husband and two small children. There she is learning to embrace the charms of semi-rural life, including growing vegetables, line-drying diapers, and soon, raising chickens. Although she’s always been passionate about the human toll of environmental degradation, especially on low-income communities, having children made Suzannah more aware of the health risks each of us face from unregulated chemicals in conventional products. In an effort to live more healthfully and simply, she experiments with buying less (and more carefully) and making more things by hand, including laundry soap and chicken stock. Suzannah writes about motherhood, faith, and natural living at so much shouting, so much laughter and believes that one of the best ways we can protect our kids and honor God is by caring for the earth.
