I ordered the sampler set when I moved into a small city apartment. I like having several different bags to choose from depending on where I'm shopping and how much I'm buying. This set covers it all! The sturdy yellow bags are great for large heavy trips. I can get a whole weeks worth of groceries into these along with wine bottles or soda cans. The store clerks appreciate that they can stand by themselves- I have to tell them to pack it heavy- it can handle it! They clean up great too- just used a damp sponge. The hemp bags are nice for smaller trips or going to the park or gym. The straps are long enough to go over my shoulder (I'm not small:). They also wash nicely. The tiny bags are also great. I throw these in my purse and use them for quick trips during lunch or after work. Everyone in my office is amazed when I pull them out. They look like a black plastic grocery bag from far away but they hold a lot more. I highly recommend this set!

I gave five of my family members this sampler set for Christmas after one said to me at Thanksgiving, "What else can we do to help the environment?" after carrying in some food in a plastic grocery store bag. I picked this set because in offering a pair of bags in three sizes and types it has something for every shopping occasion. As they stand up while you load them, the large bags are everything you'd hope for in a grocery bag but would benefit from the addition of long straps that could be used to tie them closed. The hemp bags have that feature and look like they will be very useful in various shopping situations. The small bags seemed rather small in capacity and difficult to fold back up into the integrated cases until you practice how to get it right. Knowing my family members, these bags will never again be folded into their cases. As an experienced reusable bag user, if I had been getting this set for me I would have loved everything but appreciated having a larger version of the small bags. I use some similar bags that were sold for cheap by the Dominic's food store chain in suburban Chicago that have a greater capacity and fold more easily. However, the fabric is not quite as thick as these and they might not hold up as long. It would be great to have the best of both worlds.

The ACME workhorse bags are very small and easy to stick anywhere. You could stick it in your pocket before you go in store they are so small. They feel really thin and light but seem to be able to carry heavy items fine. The handles are broad and comfortable to carry, even for my kids. The hemp totes I haven't used much yet but they seem well constructed. I expect to use them more at farmer's markets. I really like the second set of handles. The earth totes are great for groceries. They are not as rigid as I expected they would be but with a little persistence you can get them to stand up alone. They carry nicely I think because of the "boxy" design and wide handles. The weight feels even and much different from plastic bags that sometimes feel like they will give out. You can easily place 2 side by side in a normal sized shopping cart. I purchased this set along with the ACME recycled PET sampler set and I am using the earth totes the most because they are the most rigid for grocery packing, but happy to have the other floppy ones for milk jugs and large items. They all fold up and compress very well. I would recommend any of them to friends.

I bought this set several months ago because I wasn't sure which type of bag I'd prefer. I thought I'd like the black compact bags, but I really preferred the heavy yellow bags. They hold as much as 2 regular store paper bags or 4 times as much as the store plastic bags. They are comfortable to hold, even filled. They stay standing upright in my vehicle. The hemp bags are great for milk or juice. The black bags go into my purse for non-grocery shopping. I'm glad I ordered this set.

What a terrific way to try various styles! I couldn't decide and after using them for almost a month, I still don't know which is my favorite. Each shape holds different things better and they take up minimal space when I store them in the car (so they're always handy). The sampler set was an excellent choice for me. Not only do I not collect numerous plastic bags but it's so much easier to transfer my groceries into the house. I have to bring them up a flight of stairs and used to have to make an average of three trips, with the bags it's one trip usually and on occasion a second. I'm very happy I made the decision to switch to reusable shopping bags.

I love the large stand up bags for groceries. Often I find baggers at my local store dont' know what to do with the bags I bring in. they are all set up to stuff those harmful plastic bags. The stand up bags go right in their little bagger area, and are easy to fill. They are so much stronger then the cheap ones the chains are starting to sell.

The sampler set was ideal for me because I was quite torn on which bags to purchase. I LOVE the ACME Earth Totes (these were my favorite and I ended up buying 4 more). The lightweight Hemp bags are nice for carting light things around. I like the WorkHorse 1500; originally this was the bag I was going to purchase. I am glad that I didn't purchase anymore of these. They are handy to carry in the purse, folding them into the pouch is easy (no, you probably won't get it to look exactly like it did when you first got it but it is still tiny) and they hold lots of stuff. However, they aren't as strong as I would like (I already poked a hole in one with the edge of a box I was carrying inside it). So, overall, I am delighted that I bought the set because it showed me which bag was a good fit for my needs (plus, no more icky store bags)!

I love all my bags. Each design is wonderful for varying reasons. That is a great reason for buying the sampler pack -- the flat-bottomed one is perfect for heavier items that need more support. The hemp one with two lengths of handles is perfect for many kinds of shopping, and my overall favorite is the black ACME bag that folds up into its own little pocket. That one is never EVER forgotten in the car or at home -- it's always in my purse. It's saved me having to take plastic bags many times. The prices are reasonable, and they are very well made -- just a great, great product!

I LOVE the sampler set. I really recommend going with the sampler first to see which bags you prefer. The brown bags are so sturdy and hold a lot, I plan to order more. They're an excellent substitute for brown paper grocery bags. The hemp bags are okay. They have two sets of handles -- long and short -- that get tangled easily. But they're good for produce. The black bags are a good substitute for evil white plastic bags. They're thin and portable (fit in your purse folded up) but very strong.

Thank you so much for making these bags. Having the two sets gives us the opportunity to have one set in the car..and the other set in my husband's truck..that way we always have them with us. The bag that fold's into itself stays in my purse at all times so there is no excuse not to have one when you forget to grab one getting out of the car/truck. They wash up wonderfully. ACME Workhorse 1500 - my favorite bags by far. I keep one folded up in my purse and always have a bag when needed. They are durable and strong and hold as much or more than a regular plastic shopping bag. ACME Hemp Totes - I have found these a little hard to pack because they lack shape, but I love the long handles. This makes carrying numerous bags much easier. ACME Earth Totes - I keep these in my car and use them for larger grocery runs. They are akward to carry around, but hold as much and are sturdier than a paper bag. Hi. I love the sampler set. It was a great way to try them out. I love the little ones that fold up and go in my purse for those times (like the book store) where I didn't think to take in a bag. I love the big ones. I've used them at the fabric store and to haul all the prizes and food to a baby shower I recently assisted with. The hemp ones are a little wimpy for me. They are strong enough to hold things but I believe I prefer the canvas bags that have more of an ability to remain upright. All in all, I am quite satisfied with my purchase. I use ACME bags for weekly grocery shopping. I had two at first with the hemp bags and the black pouchy bags. The ACME is great because of their flat bottoms - essentially brown paper bags but taller. I ordered more of them for shopping because the hemp and pouchy bags are, in my opinion, better for casual shopping. I always have one in my purse for spontaneous purchases! For $8.95 per bag, ACME bags are worth every penny in solid construction and appearance. I just ordered two more for my daughter.

I purchased the Shopping Bag Sampler Set. I absolutely love the ACME Earth Totes. They are modeled after the paper grocery sacks so they are easy to carry, easy for the grocer bag my items, and have a large capacity. The ACME Workhorse 1500 bags are ok if you aren't purchasing a lot of items but like how compact they are. I have yet to use the Hemp Totes. I plan on using them when I attend my local farmers market as soon as spring has sprung. But as far as grocery shopping goes, the ACME Earth Totes are the way to go.

This is the perfect set! The EarthTotes are the BEST for grocery shopping. The are sturdy, they stand up on their own so the baggers don't have any trouble with them, and they hold a ton (seriously, they can get pretty heavy if packed full). I like the hemp totes because of the option of the long or short handles, but baggers usually end up fighting with it. I also like that they are smaller so I can stuff it in my purse. I usually use these for non-grocery shopping. And the workhorse 1500 bags fold up TINY (if it's well-folded, if you just stuff it in it's about 3X as big- which is still relatively small). They're about the size of a plastic grocery bag.

I have only been using the sample set for about two weeks. The hemp bags are useful for children to tote their toys and reading books. The Acme bags are so durable and roomy to boot. I like the fact that they stand upright and have that handy outer pocket. The compact bags are easy to store in my pocket and make a quick run to the corner store without having to use plastic bags. They all passed the test when I went grocery shopping. I hauled my shopping cart and all 6 bags and loaded them with a pretty large amount of items. I was glad to have the heavier items in the Acme bags, the smaller items in the hemp and the delicate items stored safely in the compact bags as I trudged back home. I am very satisfied with these products. I can see myself using them everyday. I only wish the Acme bag had a different version with a difference of a zip top.

I LOVE the tan shopping bags! I have fit all my groceries in 4 of them what I would have used at least 8 plastic bags and they are SO sturdy. The black 'pocket' Acme bags I had given away as gifts for Christmas to the men in my family and my brother was SO excited to get them. I had bought myself the Chico Bags to use (seperate review- love them too!). The white hemp bags are ok. I really haven't used them as much, but still very sturdy and do what they are supposed to do....NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS! :)

Love your bags. Now the only thing I would change is find a company here in the USA to sew them. I am sure you could set up shop in an underemployed area of this country and make the bags here. I see several benefits of locating your manufacturing facility here: It would cut down on your shipping cost and shorten the time your product takes to get into the mass market. The reduced shipping would lessen the "carbon foot print" used to distribute your product. It would create some very good manufacturing jobs here in the USA, further strengthening the very market you are trying to sell a product in. If all companies would bring back one factory they have outsourced to a third world country seeking lower production costs, our economy would be booming. Another suggestion: Partner with another conservation group to cross market your product as a way to help save the planet from our selves. Use their group as a source for new customers or better yet as a salesforce to get your product out to others who may have not have an idea that there are re-useable bags as an option when people shop. Another good marketing option would be to hook up with organizers of farmers markets. Most customers of farmers markets are looking for healthier options. We received our sample bags and love them. We use the hemp bags daily. My husband packs his lunch and dinner in them and I use them to carry items back and forth from work. We use those, along with the the large "brown bag" like bags for our groceries and were amazed at how much fit in them. I haven't used the nylong bags much because I think the handles are too small. They are of a nice quality, though.

The tote bags I recently purchased are absolutely great. Plenty of room for small shopping and attractive enough to carry all my purse things. One note about the green bags I bought a while back. I've only tried them so far with bananas. No moisture on the fruit as instructed and they still started turning brown within just a few days. SO I am heistant to try the bags with any other vegetable or fruit.

I love my sampler set - it gives me every form factor I need. The EarthTote is many times stronger than a doubled paper sack and has handles. And, if something spills inside, it won't disintegrate. It does yeoman's work! (I haven't found a use for the outside pocket yet, but I'm sure I will.) The Hemp Totes are wonderfully strong and I really like that they have both the short handles and long handles. Finally, the Workhorse totes that fold into a tiny bag are perfect to keep in your purse or the car for those last minute trips to the store to pick up some groceries on the way home. I have one in my glove box and one in my purse. A wonderful set for anyone, and a great gift with the holidays coming up!

Great value in a sampler. Now I know what bags I LOVE and which ones I can do without reordering. The Earth Tote is the best thing EVER!!! Holds tons more than a regular paper bag and is so sturdy. The duel handled Hemp tote is perfect for heavy or light items- the handle options make it my anywhere/anytime bag. The Workhorse bag snagged up a bit with my first few uses, but now that I know what not to use it for, it works well and is very convenient to put in a pocket or purse (folded in it's pouch). This is my favorite bag to take to the mall- perfect for folded clothes! Fabulous option for newbies and veterans alike- buy it, you will LOVE it.

I love this sampler set! I bought one to truly "sample" the items with a savings. I then wanted to add more of the ACME tan shopping bags for my own grocery and soccer mom toting. (The best feature is the comfortable yet strong handles to carry the filled bags quickly out of the store and easily into the house. I always get compliments.) I plan to give the extra sampler bags (which are alos great) as gifts and spread the word. What a great savings!

This is a GREAT starter set, and a fantastic value! I keep a couple of sets on hand to mix & match as gifts (especially wedding showers and housewarmings), as they're a perfect way to introduce someone to reusable bags. Personally, I use both the Workhorse 1500 and the Earth Totes almost daily. Keep a Workhorse 1500 in your purse, jacket pocket, or glove compartment and you'll be surprised how often you use them when you stop at the store for just a couple of things or when you're running about and have your hands full. They're lightweight, durable, and fold back up quickly. Plus, it's fun to get compliments from the clerks and other shoppers. The handles slip easily onto the plastic bag holder at the checkout for filling. The dark color looks a bit classy, and leaves your contents in privacy. The Earth Totes are roughly the size and shape of a handled paper grocery bag, but very strong. They stand up with the structure of a paper bag for filling, but don't rip when filled with heavy items. I end up saving trips from the car to the house since I don't have to divide things out. I also use them running about (hauling things to & from the office, bringing food to gatherings, etc.). I don't find myself using the hemp totes very often, but they make a good general-purpose bag. I strongly recommend this set for anyone exploring the idea of reusable bags. Enjoy!

Split this set with my Girlfriend and we felt so good the first time we used them. We keep our work horses on us at all times for impulse shopping, and the Earth Tote is extremely sturdy and can hold four times that of a standard bag. The Hemp totes are extremely light and paired with mesh produce bags are great for the farmers market. The price for this set is unbeatable, a great place to start with reusable bags.

The earthtote is very nice, probably too nice... my neighbor had her car window broken into since her earthtote was sitting in her car visible to the "westside" car thief who has been breaking into cars in our upscale neighborhood. Perhaps, he should just log on and buy one from reusable.com!

These bags make a great "starter set" for someone new to using reusable bags. All three bags are excellent for different uses. The Acme Workhorse is handy for carrying around in a pocket or purse in case of last minute purchases; they are large enough to carry lots of stuff but amazingly lightweight. I keep my hemp totes in the car; they hold a lot and the shoulder handles make them easy to haul around, so they're great to take to the farmer's market. The EarthTotes, however, are my favorite. They are larger than a paper shopping bag, and it's amazing how much stuff you can get in there! They are very durable, easy to load, easy to carry, and all around fantastic bags. I don't know how I lived without them until now!

I shop at Acme about 3-4 times a week, and the 2 of the larger totes hold most of my groceries. She shops less frequently, so she uses about four.I haven't used the smaller bags yet.Now, suppose you have the check-out workers at Acme give me the 5 cents/bag that I'm saving the store like they do in other supermarkets? My boyfriend and I purchased the set of 6 reusable bags that came in a special offer of 3 different kinds. The larger dark yellow bags are very sturdy and durable. I can fit heavy loads like cans, jars, soda, etc. and not worry about them ripping or tearing. The hemp totes are great especially since you can throw them in the washing machine. Lastly, the tiny bags are great to throw in my purse so I can pick up something quick. Great products, totally worth the $$$. We used to use an average of 40 plastic bags a month in my household...now...none! :)

It's great to have a sampler pack, as we did not know which individual bags would be best to order. I also appreciate the versatility of the bags. I keep the small workhorse style bags in my purse, and the heavy duty earth tote is truly heavy duty! It holds all kinds of groceries. It would be nice to have the recycled cotton as an option for this sampler pack. The only drawback to this sampler pack is that it's a little awkward to have all kinds of different bags at the store. Overall, I am very satisfied with these products.
