I bought this lunch bag for my son for school (he's in Grade 2). I was looking for something that I could throw in the washing machine. With kids, food/drinks get spilled, start to smell, etc. so washing was important to me. This lunch bag fit the bill for that. I bought black so it goes with everything and hides stains well in between washes. Wish there were more patterns for young boys. I did find the lunch bag small. I can fit in a small bento box and a few snacks. Not big enough to also hold his water bottle. The size was deceiving. When I first got it I thought I would have to send it back but the material is stretchy. I do worry about him having difficulty getting things in and out (he's used to a more open design. Hopefully it works well for him.
This bag is the perfect size for my 2nd grader's lunch. It holds a sandwich, a drink, 2 other small containers for chips, fruit, veggies, etc. and utensils. And it easily fits into her backpack with other folders, notebooks, etc.
Since I was already a fan of the larger sized Built insulated lunch bag (I have two), I thought I'd try the smaller size since the price was so reasonable. I was not disappointed -- same great quality, striking design, and a perfect size to carry those 1-2 of those smaller containers with an ice pack. I am entirely pleased with this purchase!
I wasn't sure if the size of the 'mini' would be big enough for a school lunch box, but usually it is big enough. It can just fit a sandwich stored in a container, a small container of yoghurt and a medium size container of salad, and a small piece of fruit. My older son, who has more lunch than his little sister tends to have to work a bit harder to do the bag up, so thankfully it stretches well and this zipper is sturdy. It also retains temperature well, I used my daughters bag to carry warmed dinner for baby on a night out. After a a couple of hours, the food was still warm. I wash the bags at the end of the week and they come up like new. I love them, and have recently ordered a larger size for the days where there is more food to fit, or an outing requires a few meals. One of the best things is that I have now eliminated disposable wrapping of food, because everything can go into containers that are easily put back into the bag once eaten, unlike with traditional lunch boxes, where it was like a jigsaw trying to get all the containers to fit again!
I bought the Gourmet Market Tote for myself in the polka dot print to take to work and when my son saw the Mini listed with the same print he had to have it to take to school! It's the perfect size to carry some of his smaller bento boxes and drink and cleans SO easily (as we've already had to do a few times!)!
I had seen similar bags in discount stores, but I was looking for one that was plain in color. The black Built Gourmet Getaway Mini, Small Insulated Lunch Bag is the right size for the types of dishes that I take for lunch. It will hold a small covered container or sandwich and a soda can, perfect!
My husband bought this lunch bag for me for Christmas. I am a teacher and I have been carrying it to school for about 3 weeks now. I love the pattern on the outside, it is really pretty. However, I was very disappointed to discover today that there is a slit or tear in the bottom of the bag. I expected it to hold up much longer than it did. It is a small slit now, about 3/4 of an inch long, but I fear that it will continue to spread as I put my lunches in it.
This lunch bag is smaller than I anticipated, but so far that has not been a problem. It is as cute as a baby bee. My second week of using it, I had a catastrophic milk spill. The lunch bag went through the wash beautifully.
We love this little lunch bag for bringing to friend's houses, the park, the beach, and out to dinner. It fits all of our daughters bento boxes and sippy and I'm still able to fit it in my purse or bag since it's not too bulky. And it's adorable!
These Built Gourmet lunch bags are the perfect size for taking lunches to work and school. I'm a teacher and I often have to shove my lunch in another tote and this is the perfect size. It keeps my food cool until lunch time (especially with an additional ice pack) and it stores flat in my bag when I'm done. I am planning on ordering another lunch bag for my daughter when starts school in the fall.
