  • 100% organic cotton
  • Soy-based inks
  • Machine washable
  • Can be reused multiple ways, as gift wrap, a carrying bag and more

We love these elegant, versatile fabric wraps. Based on the traditional Japanese furoshiki wrapping cloth, they become as much a part of a gift as the present inside! Just sit a small box or bottle in the center of the wrap, then tie the diagonal ends together, and you're done! They can also be tied into handy carrying bags for groceries or lunch. Made of 100% organic cotton with soy-based inks, they're a beautiful, waste-free alternative to wrapping paper.

Design and Functionality
Perfect for a small box or wine bottle, Chewing the Cud reusable fabric wraps add a beautiful touch to gifts. To wrap a box, place the package so that each side is facing a corner of the wrap. Then, take one pair of diagonal corners and pull them across and tie into a knot. See more ways to wrap a gift with a furoshiki-style cloth. Then, do the same with the remaining two corners. That’s it! Each wrap is inscribed with a simple message – Give Cheer. These organic cotton gift wraps are more than just environmentally friendly—they won't tear, and they’re convenient for travelers taking gifts through airport security over the holidays.

Materials

Sustainability
The Japanese government is promoting furoshiki wraps as a way to reduce waste and save resources. Learn more. Chewing the Cud fabric wraps are beautiful, simple and waste-free ways to wrap gifts. Instead of the typical “use & toss” wasteful wrapping, these organic cotton wraps can be used and reused again. Help reduce the massive amount of trash generated from wrapping paper, tissue paper, paper gift bags, and ribbon. Americans spend over 2.7 billion dollars a year on gift wrap, much of which ends up in landfills. By using reusable gift bags each year and sharing them with family and friends, you can be a part of the solution.

4.0 Stylish and sustainable

Comments about Product:

Colors are well represented online. It's thin fabric but that actually facilitates wrapping. Definitely recommend!

3.0 Good idea, average use

Comments about Product:

I really wanted to like this product. I love the idea of using only reusable gift wrap. This product fell a little short for me. The item to be wrapped cannot be large at all or it will not wrap with only one sheet. This particular print is a bit see-through too. Takes a bit of practice to figure out the wrapping part, but once you get that down it does make a great gift appearance.

3.0 Reusable Gift Wrap

Comments about Product:

I like the fabric options for this gift wrap but I was disappointed that it didn't come with instructions about how to tie the wrap in the Japanese fashion it was inspired by. I also wish it came in much larger sizes as I found it difficult to find a gift that this small size wrap would fit.

5.0 Blue-Gray, Orange-Red Like Shown

Comments about Product:

The pictures are very true to color. The blue is a blue-gray, and the red is an orange-red, leaning more towards orange. I use one to wrap to wrap a sofa pillow (with the back not covered all the way), a tissue box, a vase, and 2 green LunchBots size containers (and more depending on the way it is tied). I have used it to carry an iPad once. I would use a bigger size cloth to more comfortably carry groceries in, but this size can work if loaded correctly. As I am typing this, this might actually work well as a produce bag since it's so light. It is a pretty fabric, so I would only put clean, dry fruits like apples and oranges so it stays clean longer before being washed. You could try this at home first with any cloth you have at home and see how it works for you. If you think it's something you would like to do, folding and tying, then come back and choose a design that you like.
