Plus, hemp gets softer with age and resists stretching and tearing. They feature an innovative dual set of handles, so you can carry it over your shoulder or by hand. Using both sets, you can easily carry several bags at once.
Paired with a recycled PET Stuff Sack, this set makes a great starter shopping bag set for students, activists and those who are new to the reusables movement. Materials
Totes are made from 5.2 ounce 55/45 hemp/cotton fabric. Hemp fabric is 4x stronger than cotton fabric of the same weight. Unlike conventionally-grown cotton, hemp has no known insect enemies and a high resistance to disease, so there is no need to use harmful pesticides in its cultivation. Screen printed locally with PVC-free ink. After some investigation, we discovered that this method of screening creates less waste and lasts longer than water and soy-based inks.
Unlike cheaper versions of recycled PET, our Next Generation Recycled PET fabric, blended with nylon, is as beautiful & strong as it is sustainable. Using recycled PET is smart - it cuts down on waste & minimizes damage to the environment by conserving oil, energy & non-renewable resources. In the U.S. alone, over 45 billion plastic containers ended up in landfills in 2006.
