These bags are so light yet amazingly strong. My only complaint is the awkward manner in which they "fold" or stuff into the pocket when not in use: they're so flimsy that they don't always stay compacted in the pocket itself. The pocket design appears to need a little work: it just kind of hangs off to the side when the bag is opened and filled with items. Nice graphics on the bag material. By T.A. W

At first I thought the bags were too small, but once I used them at the store, I realized that they are not only the same size but also as malleable and strong as those plastic bags you get from the grocery store. Plus, they're prettier than the picture . I have gotten lots of compliments from Cashiers. I love these bags but I decided to make a modification. On each of the handles, I put 2 bright orange button holes on either side of each handle at the same spot as the regular grocery store plastic disposable have slits. That way these bags can hang on the metal arms of the framework that holds the plastic bags. I also used little pieces of round shoe laces to create loops to hold the bag to the center catch. I first reviewed these bags shortly after I got them. Following up now to say they've held up exceptionally well, are very compact and very easy to refold into the little pocket. I keep 3 in the side pocket of my car door along with my other stuff, and toss them in my purse before going into the grocery store, or just about any store. People comment on how they're pretty ("What are those?"), not realizing the print design shows used plastic bottles. They wash and dry easily, so they stay clean. They hold a lot and are much stronger than they look.... though, I still wish they were a bit bigger, and knitted to have a bit more give to the fabric (again, only because I have my old Acme Workhorse mesh bag to compare it to). Because of the good looks, though, I am more willing to use them in stores other than the grocery. All in all, they've been excellent bags! By Jill D

These are just the right size/shape to hang on the self-check bag holders and never fail to attract attention. So glad I bought ten so I can give to friends and family when they see them. This is a great shopping bag. It's light and folds compact. It's mesh so it dries fast. And I love the pattern of plastic bottles, because that's exactly what it used to be. I gave these out at a shower as a party favor and they were a HIT!! The design is subtle, artistic and makes the point that recycled can be beautiful, not just functional. The mesh fabric is actually very nice, and lends itself to some additional uses that I wouldn't use the regular reusable bags for. This is my favorite small reusable shopping bag because: 1) it's very strong and roomy 2) it has a square bottom, making it easy to load up 3) it folds flat and easily tucks into my purse or pocket and 4) when clerks (especially young ones) comment on it, "That's cute!" and I ask them to guess what it's made of, they're astounded that it's from recycled plastic bottles - a little teachable moment there! The only downside to the bag? My husband won't use it because "it's too girly for me." That's OK; I've just gotten him into using my old mesh zippered lingerie bags for loose produce. I have so many reusable bags that I have collected for free that I hesitated to purchase one, however I needed one compact enough to fit in my purse, as I always find myself purchasing things here and there and being caught without a bag and having to take home one of the store plastic bags. Yuck! This one is perfect. It weighs practically nothing and folds up into a tiny pouch. I get it out at the market, and fold it back up and put it into my purse once I get home. I got 3 of these SmartCycle bags because the ACME Workhorse mesh bags have been out of stock for some time, and I needed new bags.... They're really well made, easy to fold back up into their pouch, and look nice. So far they've been great to use, too. However... I really prefer the ACME bags I bought a couple of years ago because the mesh fabric has a lot more "give" to it and they're deeper and hold more stuff than this SmartCycle bag - their shape is just designed better. However, I like the color of the SmartCycle bag and the fact that it's made out of recycled materials, and I use them for many different things. When I pack stuff into them at the grocery store, though, the stuff is more likely to start falling out the top, toppling over, etc., than with the ACME bags. If I'd never had my ACME bags to compare these to, I'd probably be a lot more positive, but alas... By Danielle P

A very lovely bag, indeed! I love the image printed on the bag. Everybody assumes it's impressionistic art at first :) One thing I'd improve: The mini bag that holds the rest of the bag needs a tiny bit of elastic. If there were a little elastic on the rim, the bag would stuff more quickly and stay stuffed longer. This is probably the prettiest reusable bag that I own. I know that's not the point of having these bags, and I really do like that I've nearly eliminated all plastic and paper bags from stores by using the reusable bags, but it's an added bonus to have a bag that is so attractive. The plastic bottle design looks like an abstract painting until you get closer for more detail. I've only used this bag 4 times since I received it, and people in stores have commented on it and asked me where I got it each and every time I've used it. I bought four and would like more! This is my favorite shopping bag for groceries. The shape and size are the same as a typical plastic bag at the grocery store. I bought a couple of these bags in November, and they are my favorites! And I receive compliments about them all the time. These bags are not bulky and can be slipped into my purse without being folded up. Love these. Lightweight, easy to fold, cute pattern. I find it helpful that they're semi-sheer, so I can see what's in them. A group of my friends get together for dinner periodically. When a one showed the group one of your shopping bags, we were so impressed that we all decided to get an order ready. When we received them we realized they would be a great gift to share with our family and friends. So we are placing another order for even more. I love everything about this bag -- large size, compact folded size, light weight, completely upcycled material -- except the craftsmanship of the bag itself. The stitching is done with a Surger machine (so there's threads hanging out at many of the ends, etc.), and with the weave of the fabric, I just don't see it holding up as long as if the company had put the thought into manufacturing that they did into the concept. Too bad, because then it might be my new favorite bag. On the other hand, it certainly as held up so far -- and everything else about it is great. I love this bag! It is very sturdy and lightweight, and perfect for keeping in your purse for quick trips to the drugstore or times when you aren't prepared with your stack of less portable bags. I wasn't sure about how busy the design would be, but you have to look for it. It is very pretty and looks like a watercolor. This shopping bag is my favorite! I have purchased 2 already, and am purchasing more today. It is really strong, and so easily folds back into it's attached little pouch, which is also the perfect hook-thingie for those carousels the plastic grocery bags at the stores go on, so it's EASY to bag your groceries, or have the clerk do it. These bags are really nice compared to some of the other compact bags I've seen. I like the bottle print which some people don't quite see right away - definitely a fun conversation piece. But I really like that the mesh material is semi-transparent. This allows me to see what's inside. The size is nearly identical to a plastic shopping bag but the handles are MUCH more comfortable. Don't be fooled by the mesh - it's incredibly strong! I actually use these for a lot of things I might normally use plastic bags for. General storage of household items hung on hooks, library books, extra carrying bag for the kids school stuff when their back packs are full, etc. The fact that they are 100% plastic makes them really easy to clean and the mesh allows them to dry very quickly, no mildew either. Great for the beach or camping. And I can easily store a half dozen or so in my purse. Even my husband carries one on him at all times folded up neatly in it's little pouch.
