Strong & washable, take them everywhere
What fits: my 15" laptop in its own well-padded shoulder case; 1 portfolio; 1 wand scanner; supplies (collection of pens, pencils, stapler, markers, extra batteries, etc.); a 20-ounce beverage; snacks; medications, including insulin in its own insulated case; and room left over. I could probably toss my purse in there, too.
That's a LOT of weight, but the shoulder strap is wide enough for me to carry the bag without it cutting into my shoulder. The patch of felt lining on the inside of the strap really does keep it from sliding, the felt strip is long enough that I can sling it forward or shift it over my back and still have it grip. Strap length is perfect for all this. (Note: This is not for hand-carrying like a plastic grocery bag for anyone shorter than a basketball player.)
As someone noted, the fabric is very wrinkled and looks scrunched like a silk scarf that's been stuffed into a pocket. I tried a warm iron and a tumble in the dryer, but they stayed put. For me, that's a 'who cares' feature; it's a shopping and hauling bag, not an out-to-dinner accessory. With all the weight, they kind of stretch themselves out anyway. It may not be a fashion item, but the colors are just plain fun, and I've got function. I can't ask for more.
I've only used it a couple of times, so I can't speak to durability. It does have a double row of stitching at the top, though, and I think it would take Hulk Hogan to tear the material. If it holds up as well as I think it will, I'll buy a couple more for me and stash some away for gifts. The little pouch will fit in a small puffy envelope for mailing.
5-star item for sure.
this is a really cool little tote that tucks into a brightly coloured ball. I love the nubby felt piece that prevents slipping of the tote off of my shoulder.
great colours available.
I have purchased Flip and Tumbles in the past and love the long strap so you can put the bags on your shoulder. I am always getting compliments about how cute and packable it is. We found out we were using them so much that we needed a few more.
I have a variety of random reusable bags from Reuseit, grocery stores, etc. Just used this one for the first time today, and it's hands down my favorite, mainly because of the padded shoulder strap. I took it on a few errands and it ended up loaded with miscellaneous two notebooks, a number of beauty products, a half gallon of milk, and six bananas. Not only was the bag far from capacity at that point, but it felt like I was carrying almost nothing. Love having my hands free because of the shoulder strap, the fabric seems really sturdy, and I think the padding could make even really heavy stuff a lot easier to carry. I wish it looked as nice as in the photos, though. After being balled up, it's inevitably pretty wrinkly.
Awesome bags! I wish I had one of every colors.
These really are the best cloth bags! They carry a ton, are easy to carry, and they are easy to moosh back into the built-in carrying pouch. I bought the orange and blue bags. They're great!
I cannot say enough positive things about the Flip and Tumble bag. They are top notch on all fronts: style, quality, creativity, and function. They wash easily. They are great for shopping - everything from groceries to smaller items. They fit so easily into your purse. I have many of them and also use them for traveling as a laundry bag. They are also super stylish if that matters to you and I always get comments on them I never take bags anymore. All stores should sell these at the checkout. They weigh nothing and I always keep at least 3 in my purse at any one time. The only problem is my dog thinks they are balls and like to chew them! You cannot go wrong choosing these bag and definitely buy more than one!
these bags were exactly what I needed, large and with long sturdy handles, they are great for carrying just about anything!! They fold up small enough to put in my purse so I never forget them when i go shopping.
I love these bags. The colors are great. They fold up easily. They are sturdy. And I like being able to wear them across my body. I am slowly replacing my bulky canvas bags with these as they are easier to use and to store.
I have ordered many of these great bags for myself and for family and friends. Of all the small, scrunchable bags I have tried, these continue to come out on top for the following reasons: the stretchiness of the pocket they fold up into; the one shoulder strap (which I find easier than two straps for this size bag); the great colors; the durability; and one of these bags simply fits anywhere for when you happen to need an extra bag - a purse, in another shopping bag (in case...), tucked somewhere in the car. Great product.
I've bought many of this item for myself and as gifts. It looks very nice folded and unfolded and can hold surprising amount of groceries.
The bag looks thin but can hold a good amount and has a nice reinforcement on the shoulder. It is so easy to roll up into itself and makes a cool colorful little ball! (smaller than a computer mouse)
We bought these to give to the bridesmaids in our daughter's wedding. They all loved them. They used them to carry all their stuff for getting ready at the church. So handy & fun. They all are now using them for everything from shopping to diaper bags.
I saw this bag at a museum gift shop with the museum logo and wanted it without the logo, so I copied down the product name and ordered it here. They didn't carry the one color that I wanted, but who cares! I bought two bags and love them.
I've tried lots of reusable bags and these are my favorite. I use them all the time. The fact that they pack in themselves is the best part. I always have one in my bag.
I purchased five of these bags to complement my shopping basket and heavier canvas bags and I am SO PLEASED!! The baggers at the checkout are always surprised when I unfurl the little fruit sized pouches. They take up very little space, are strong and washable. Easy to pop in your purse for trips to any kind of store. Would definitely buy again!
I love how easy + quick it folds into a ball. I keep it in my purse for those unexpected shopping stops. I do wish it had 2 handles or a flatter bottom. It's hard to keep open + put stuff in it. That won't stop me from using it though. Overall I'm very happy with it.
Someone gave this to me for Christmas and it's my fav thing that I leave in my handbag and unfurl- so easy to use. Showed a friend and she ordered it for gift for others. Beautiful, stylish colors, compact, so easy to undo to use and put back - no folding needed.
These bags are perfect. They are small enough to fit in my purse but can hold a lot. They are deceivingly big. When you first "unroll" them, they seem small. Last weekend I went to the store and put 6 frozen dinners, 2 half gallons of milk, 6 eggs and a pound of meat all in one bag. The bag was full, but with the felt shoulder pad, it didn't hurt my arm to carry it. I would highly recommend.
Is great product. Very convenient. Shoulder strap is so much better than smaller handles. I use for everything. This was my 2nd purchase.
I have some of these and some of the Envirosax and I love them all. These are super easy to put back together, however I only ever put them together at home or in the car so that's not a huge deal to me. But the final product is larger than with the others that roll. It's not too bad but means I can carry 2 vs 4 envirosax in the mesh cup holder portion of my bag. They are made of super thin ripstop nylon but I think they are plenty durable. The colors are bright and fun. They hold a lot, though it's a little harder to start putting stuff in due to the fact that they only have one strap. I have been using them just as often, though, and they come in handy for my bag in case I come home with more stuff than I left with (as you do with 3 small kids!!) and great for pool/beach as well. I send the kids out with them to get the mail and they don't seem to have too much of a problem putting stuff in them. They also keep stealing the "balls" to play with. I would say the rolled up bag-ball is about the size of a baseball, maybe slightly larger.
I love this bag. I've been using canvas bags a lot, but they don't fit in my purse, so I always ended up with the on-my-way-home plastic bags. But the flip&tumble has changed everything. It's super small, rolls up nicely, and has an awesome strap that I can sling over my shoulder! I'm very happy with this bag!
I bought 10 of these bags in various colors. Planned on just using them for the grocery store. Now we use them for much more than just bagging groceries. PROS: Well made and strong seams. Can easily carry four 2-liter soda bottles in one. The felt-like material on the shoulder strap really helps to keep the bag from slipping off your shoulder. My kids like using them as lunch sacks - different color everyday! CONS: Not that easy to put groceries into. I have to use one hand to hold the top open and the other for groceries. Needs something to hold the top open. Would be nice to have an adjustable strap to vary it's length.
I love these bags, and have them in every color. I keep one in my purse at all times and they're easy to drag to the grocery store. Also good for bringing my lunch to work. People are always asking where I got them from, and grocery baggers just think they're awesome. Super durable, parachute material so you can really jam a lot of stuff in there. Best plastic bag substitute ever! The new produce bags are great too.
i love the padded shoulder strap. it makes all the difference when i'm schlepping food on the subway. highly recommend them!
These bags are extremely easy to use - so much better than those that you have to neatly fold to get back into the case and they're small enough to keep one or two in your handbag. I gave a bunch of them as Christmas gifts.
Not as big as other bags and with only one handle bit it is big enough to carry over the shoulder. I love the way it easily balls up in the attached pouch. Super handy and useful for groceries or anything else you need to carry around. Bonus point for entertaining my daughter who uses it as a ball!
I love the Flip & Tumble bag. I previously used the Acme Mesh bag, but didn't like how I had to very carefully fold it to make it fit back in its pouch. The Flip bag is really easy to just stuff back into its stretchy pouch. Love the purple color, too.
These bags have held up to the toughest treatment. I wish I had photos to show you- we bought a bunch of these bags as party favors for my sons tenth birthday, we played for the first hour with the bags in ball shapes target practice, catch, golf, juggling, etc... and then the finale was the flip and tumble sack race where the kids partnered up each with a foot in one bag holing the handle like a three legged race! These bags are amazing!!! So handy, so strong, so fun, so colorful- if you are having a gloomy day just pic a bright color as your days bag- really, get some, I highly recommend them!!!!
These bags are super. I carry one in my purse all the time. The colors and prints are very stylish.
Love this company. I purchased one of these bags in blue a long time ago and it has been the most versatile and best purchase I've made. The new one in eggplant seems to be made from a sturdier material, but it's still the same sort of awesome as my old one. These bags hold a TON and are so convenient. I've even managed to convince my bf of their awesomeness, though he still refers to them as the "parachute bags."
Not quite as compact as some of the other brands, but very classy and a pleasure to use. I was taken aback by how wrinkled it was when it first arrived, but it's gotten much less wrinkled as I've used it even though the whole point of this bag is that you don't have to fold it to get it in and out of the pouch. The pouch is made of stretchy fabric so you just jam the bag in there -- it's actually fun. The shoulder strap works very well. Always in use!
These bags are awesome! When I first opened them, I didn't think the material would be strong enough to hold groceries, but I was wrong. They've held up great. I would love to have the same bag in a bigger size (maybe they make them and I just haven't found them on the site). I also love the one shoulder strap- makes it easy to carry. Great product!
I have quite a few ultra compact bags, but I think these are my new favorites! I love how easy they are to fold up and they hold a ton. I really like that I can keep the bags on one shoulder, makes it easier to get in the house while carrying my daughter.
Fantastic bag! I purchased this hot pink bag, looking for a lightweight purse for a trip to Disney World. It was perfect! Great for traveling on a plane. It also was super easy for entering the Disney Parks(baggage check). The felt covered strap worked great for keeping the strap from slipping off my shoulder. The strap was also long enough to cross over like a newspaper bag style when needed. I plan to purchase more in other colors in the near future! I also had several people come up to me asking where I purchased this beautiful bag and I of course, had to advertise my favorite green site;o)
These are the best invention since the tire!! I got them in blue for my husband and pink and orange for myself (which match beautifully with the microdot large insulated tote bag). There has not been one time to the store where I haven't been asked where I got them. They are strong, light as a feather, easy to carry in your purse (so much better than those bulky canvas bags all the stores try to sell you). Just toss in the wash and your good to go. I especially love the handles being a bit longer and the felt you have sewn in to keep them on your shoulder. No more multiple trips from the car to the house. Everything can make it in just one trip. I honestly can't think of a single improvement needed for these bags.
These are fun and practical. I love the bright colors and how easy they are to push back into their round little pouches that also function as pockets (keys, unused coupons) when the bag is open. The best part is how comfortably they sit on my shoulder. I walked to the store and came back with three bags of groceries and no hand or shoulder pain. Yay!
I really enjoy my Flip and Tumble bags. I have lots of regular eco type bags but got these because they are so small and fit right in my purse without coming apart until I am ready to use them. People are fascinated by how they are constructed and I get to recruit more people to giving up plastic and paper bags. They are a great educational tool for all checkout personnel.
The Flip & Tumble bags are functional and fashionable. They have a nice long strap with a piece of felt on the inside of the strap where it would hit the top of your shoulder. This is to prevent the strap from falling off your shoulder and it works! The bags are sturdy and roomy and you can use them for everything. The colors are bright and fold up into a small ball. The bright colors make it easy to find when it's all wrapped up in a ball. These bags are also washable and they wash very well. I don't dry it in the dryer, I just hang it to dry. I plan to buy more!
I love, love, love these bags. I use them for all sorts of things - dance class for my daughter, hauling stuff to work, groceries. So excited that reusablebags.com has added these to their product line-up. I love that it has a single longer length handle that easily goes over a shoulder. My 5-year old loves them b/c she can wear them across her body and they are light as a feather. Oh and the colors are just fun.
I am a big fan of Flip & Tumble bags. These have a longer strap than the Envirosax and can easily be slung over a shoulder one handed. They even have a small piece of felt on the strap to help keep it on your shoulder. You can not lose the sack it is syuffed in, because it is attached. You need no folding ability, just stuff the bag in with your thumbs. The con is that it does not lie flat, so no sticking in a back pocket, but it is still compact. The the green is slightly brighter in person than it looks on the screen (unless they changed it), the orange is slightly darker, the purple is darker (and if you like a nice dark eggplant, quite pretty).
First my loves: the colors, and the compact attached carrying case, size when in my handbag/purse Likes: held what I wanted it to, but wished it were a bit larger. Wished was Better: the length of strap (so I could make it a crossbody) and width and thickness of the strap (so it would stay more sturdily on my shoulder). Despite the comments that would improve on how I use this bag, I still really like it enough to keep it in my purse which means it's getting used at least a few times a week, which I can't say about every reusable bag in my collection. I really like this bag alot, and it wouldn't take a lot, to make it great.
Very nice bag, nice wide strap for carrying, easy to have on hand folded up.
I do love my flip and tumble bags (I wish reusit sold the small version). However there are just couple of things I would change. For one: add a clip. I like carrying small purses and generally clip my compact reusable bags directly to my purse. (I most have Chico bags vita style. All Chico bags have clips). Although I like the single strap on the flip and tumble, I wish it were adjustable. I am not overweight but I'm not thin enough to wear this bag cross body style comfortably. An adjustable strap would be more versital. Overall I'd give the bag a four out of five stars. Like others I like the capacity of them, the ease of putting it away and the bright colors. I would love to see more products from this company.
I think the bags in the photos have been ironed! Mine was a lot more crumpled when I unfolded it! It was smaller than I was expecting, but is functional enough. If they start making them larger, I'll buy another, as I think they'd be cool for traveling. For a grocery bag, I prefer the Workhorse Original.
I have two. Colors are so beautiful and I always use as everyday carrying stuff. I love it. I wish you have more sales are on.
These are beautifully designed bags that stash away in the twinkle of an eye. They do emerge again crumpled, so are best used with items heavy enough to smooth them out again.
These bags are nice looking and quite sturdy. I like the felt patch on the shoulder strap that keeps it from slipping off. The rip-stop nylon is great because you don't have to worry about rips or tears. I just bought two more black ones to use as gift bags. I love using reusable bags as gift bags rather than buying disposable paper ones. This way the person receiving the present gets two 2 gifts instead of one! There are only 2 cons with this bag that I can see... 1. the ball it rolls up into is a bit larger than an envirosax or a chicobag so it takes up a little more room in your purse... 2. much like chicobags, the flip & tumble bags are very wrinkled when they pop out of their little ball so if that bothers you, stick with envirosax. I really appreciate the great sale price from reusablebags.com, much better deal than I would've gotten on the flip & tumble website.
I’ve been using the Acme Workhorse bags for some time. I’m a huge fan. However, I wanted to try something a little different. What I like: the colors – nice and bright; the shoulder strap – I find it easier to carry on my shoulder than in my hand, particularly if I’m at a craft fair or flea market; that it rolls into its own pocket, just like the Acme bags; they hold more than you'd think. What I’m not crazy about: the felt on the strap isn’t very helpful – maybe if it was thicker; the material is stiffer than the Acme bags - not as pleasing to touch; they are more bulky when folded than the Acme bags, so they take up more room in my handbag; they are slightly more difficult to get into their pockets than the Acme bags, I think because of the material; they are super wrinkled - your bags will look nothing like the ones featured on this page. These product images show bags that have never been rolled into their pockets. Also, the ones shown here look as though they are constructed in a way that gives it a squared off shape. This is not true. That being said, I would order them again, especially as gifts, mostly because the colors make me happy.
I love this little bad - the little pouch it goes into is "stretchy" fabric. Such a good idea, considering a lot of the pouches for reusable are non-stretchy and it's a chore to squeeze it all into a small pouch. Cons - one strap limits overfilling it and the lack of travel loop when it's in its pouch makes it a big more difficult to transport it. Pros - the one strap it does have is padded! That's great! Otherwise, it's a perfect bag - has all the normal conveniences for reusable bags.
I have had the ACME workhorse bags for a long time and find it essential that my reusable bags have a built in storage bag. I was so excited to see this bag with the long strap, felt pad, and bright colors. However, when I received it, the material was thinner than the photos suggested and it is always a wrinkled mess. I haven't had the wrinkled problem nearly this bad with other bags. Its so wrinkled that the long strap is difficult to straighten out - frustrating. Unfortunately, the long strap makes it difficult for me to use as a grocery bag, and seems better as a spare bag for traveling or merchandise shopping. It holds a good amount and I do love the stretchy built in storage bag.
I bought this bag for my boyfriend who now walks a few blocks to work, and although he thought it was cool and handy, he thought it was rather uncomfortable when filled. I, on the other hand, used it every day while visiting him recently, and LOVED it. Since the strap is long I could wear it over my shoulder or crossed over my head (the bag on the opposite side of me as the strap..) unlike my chico bag which is rather short and doesn't work so well on my shoulder. Another great plus is the bag it stuffs into became a great spot to stick my iphone or wallet. I would definitely buy it again since its so handy, roomy, and "wearable". I don't think there is any option that is not going to get a little uncomfortable when you fill it with heavy groceries. I only wish it was made from recycled materials.
This bag is adorable. I find it best for lighter shopping trips, and you can't beat how quick it is to compact.
I like the concept of the Flip & Tumble reusable shopping bag, but I need something that can be used like a messanger bag, and the strap of the bag is too short! The material is nice and sturdy, and has a bright color. When shopping I always use the 'workhorse' reuseit bag, and I ordered this one, thinking it would be easy to carry it on the shoulder rather than on the hand... is nice, but I expected something bigger and with a larger strap.
I have bought 20 differnt kinds of bags this summer, doing a major comparison of all of them. I'm eduating our school's staff on bags, and wanted gifts for 60 staff, including 6 guys. I bought the flip and tumble darker colours for the guys, thinking they'd be boy friendly, rolled up in a ball. I love the roll up in a quick ball idea. The handle is very odd though, with an unnecessary extra lining of some sort. Can't say I'd buy them again. But I love the flip and tumble produce bags, as do a bundh of other friends who bought them.
I saw these bags and thought they were stylish and possibly would hold a lot of items. I bought one and was happy I only purchased one. The idea is great..long straps and the idea of folding into a ball, into a sewn in pocket - great idea.. I also thought - from other reviews - the material was a bit stretchy..to accomodate more items. I was disappointed. The bag is very small, the handle too long and there was not 'give' in the fabric. Top it off with a very wrinkled bag, it's not for me. I'm sure everyone that is happy with this bag has their reasons, I just was not impressed. I am more impressed with the Reuseit workhorse original..lots of room, sturdy material and folds into a very tiny pouch, not to mention the pricing is better.
