Highlights
The safety and durability of a stainless steel container meets the microwavable convenience of silicone! The MC2 is the most functional food container we've found - it's a large-volume, leak-proof container thats slim for packing into just about any bag. Plus, it has a built in microwavable bowl that's perfect for soups or salads. This food container's bottom compartment is made of 304 18/8 stainless steel, and fitted with a proprietary food-grad silicone lid collapses flat for compact packing with secure seal and pops up for use as an eating bowl.

Both components are entirely BPA- and phthalate-free, as well as super durable. The bottom container seals tight onto the leak-proof lid, making these reusable food containers great for daily office or school use on the go. These containers eliminate the need for use-and-toss plastic baggies, wraps and aluminum foil, saving you money and natural resources over time. Since stainless steel containers do not leach harmful chemicals like certain plastics do, they are a healthy, eco-friendly lunch-time alternative.

• Reusable stainless steel food containers with silicone convertible lids that become separate bowl
• Made of durable and long-lasting eco-friendly materials that are free from toxins and other leaching chemicals
• Leak proof lid makes eating and snacking on the go mess free and easy

Materials
Made from high-quality, food grade Type 304 stainless steel, which resists stain and rust due to its chromium content, making it a favored material in food processing, dairy and brewing. It's also one of the safest materials for food storage and handling, because it's easy to clean, durable and sanitary. Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found in earth: iron ore, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen and manganese.

Properties of the final alloy are tailored by varying amounts of these elements. There are more than 57 stainless steels recognized as standard alloys on the market. High-quality, sanitary-grade 304 stainless steel has low nickel content. It has excellent resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content, making it a material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewery industries. 2.0 Thought this container was the answer...alas...

Comments about Product:

I bought two of these a few years ago. Initially, I was very happy with them. They didn't leak, the bowl was microwavable, and they were a cinch to keep clean with hand washing.

However, after about a year, one of the lids/bowls tore at an expansion fold. Six months later the same thing happened to the second one. When I checked reuseit.com and saw no replacement lid/bowls for sale, I emailed the company asking if I could buy replacements. I never received a response. So now I have two lidless, stainless steel containers. I don't want to toss/recycle them, but they no longer serve the purpose for which they were purchased. Very disappointed.

5.0 I\'m going to buy 2 more.

Comments about Product:

I love the innate MC stainless steel food container. At first I bought them for toting leftovers to work, but they also work as a sandwich container too. My husband keeps stealing them from me for his own lunchs that I need to buy two more. We have put them in the diswasher on the top rack just to be sure & put them in the freezer. No problems & we have been using them regularly for a year now. I do recommend this food container.

1.0 Mothball smell in silicone rubber lid

Comments about Product:

I bought one of these containers with the red silicone rubber lid. The lid smelled strongly of mothballs, specifically the dichlorobenzene type of mothballs. In addition to a taste I would not want in my food, dichlorodbenzene is listed by the States of Maine and California as a likely carcinogen. Soaking the lid for several hours in hot soapy water (using Dawn dish detergent) did not remove the smell.

5.0 Easy to use

Comments about Product:

This is my second time purchasing this container, and I still love them! I find the lids very easy to put on and off, and I love how tightly the top seals. I keep one in my car at all times in case I need to take my leftovers home, and I also use it for taking lunch to work. This is an excellent, well-made product.

1.0 WAY TOO SMALL

Comments about Product:

I am confused by the reviews here. This container barely holds anything, how are people using it?? I cannot believe a child could handle the lidding since I barely could.

I wanted it for restaurant leftovers since I bring half of my order home. I am tired of throwing out plastic.

These are the true dimensions from the bottom of the container and not the top lip. 5 3/4 long by 4 1/2 wide. One sandwich would fit, anything along with it would have to be placed on top. I also struggled with this to put the lid on-I would have my food all spilled out of the container by the time the lid was placed correctly. Having to return.

There does not seem to be an option for a large take out container on the site.

5.0 Follow-up review

Comments about Product:

I called the company about my broken lid & they agreed to replace it without any problem & mailed a new one out to me the next day. I also realized that, on my other criticism of the lid being too difficult for my pre-schooler to put back on, when I received the new one, it was much tighter than my prior one and I realized with time it stretches a bit and becomes easier to put on. I thought my preschooler had just eventually learned how to do it, but it actually becomes easier and more pliable, so that's good!

4.0 Great idea, but mine lasted only a year

Comments about Product:

I use this every day for my four-year-old son's lunch which, for a year, is quite a bit of use. It worked for his hot food because they microwave the kids' food and can't in the stainless and it was nice to have a flat container rather than pre-heat in a thermos. Like other reviewers, it took him a loooong time to be able to put the top on himself (without his teacher's help). We've had this about a year and the top where it folds in has just ripped along the crease. For the money, I had really hoped this would last longer than a year, espeically given that it's supposed to be an alternative to throwing things away. I plan to contact the company, perhaps they'll send a replacement lid. Other than this disappointment, it's been a great container.

5.0 Excellent container!

Comments about Product:

I really like these containers. They hold a lot are really eco-friendly. The stainless steel is great and I am happy I don't have to use plastic anymore. I own a lot of these containers and really love them.

5.0 Very nice

Comments about Product:

The lid is very nifty the way it folds into a bowl, but I probably will not use that feature. It's pretty and a good size and lighter than glass. I am very happy with it.

4.0 Good size

Comments about Product:

We use these containers for take out and bringing home leftover from restaurant meals. They are a good size for both uses especially since the silicone seal can be used fully extended for large portions. Not sure how the silicone seals will hold up on the long run but so far so good. We have teamed these containers up with our Built Market tote and Kids Konserve containers to make a versatile "Take Out" kit.

5.0 Great for commuters!

Comments about Product:

I pack my lunch in this container every day and bike with it to work. It will not spill! It is also the perfect size for lunch, and because it is flatter, it fits perfectly in my bag. I recommend it to anyone, but especially those of us who need a container you can toss in your bag without the worry of leakage.

5.0 Replacing All Plastic!

Comments about Product:

These things are great. We'd had little success finding non-plastic food storage that actually sealed, but these are it. We've used them for liquids (no spills if you make sure the top is on tight) and tried the top in the microwave, and they do their job. This size is large enough for a good lunch portion of leftovers or a nice big salad. Easy to clean.

5.0 Great all around

Comments about Product:

My five year old was so jealous of her dad's container, she wanted one for herself. She was able to open and close it, but there is a slight trick to getting it over the edge all the way before completely putting it on. My husband also reported that it can only heat half the food it holds at a time, but said that was minor issue given how useful it is. Overall, we are very happy with the product.

5.0 Well designed & practical

Comments about Product:

Got this for hiking and lunches. It does what it claims to do and does so well. I haven't used it with liquids, but am not really planning on doing so. The lid fits snug, pops up well (as designed) but will only hold about half of what's in the box (keep that in mind when you use it with microwaves). Given how tricky it sometimes is to put back on the lid (wouldn't recommend it for children) I figure it must hold liquids as well, but I haven't tried it for hikes (works when you try it out in the kitchen).

4.0 Good product, but not for children

Comments about Product:

My intent was to use this stainless steel container in my child's lunch box. However, the top is extremely hard to manipulate (even for an adult), as you need to "stretch" the silicone top so that it fits over the container. The nesting set of three stainless containers with regular "pop on" tops are much better for kids. However, I kept the containers for adult use (fruits and veggie snacks) and it's been great. While we don't use the top to microwave, it's still handy to have an extra bowl when traveling/out on a picnic. It's a good product, just not for kids, and you need to be willing to work with the top, not just pop it on.

5.0 Love this purchase!

Comments about Product:

I have been looking for an item to hold my soup that was not made out of plastic and could be microwaved. This product fits the bill. They did have a slight "silicone" taste when I initially used them, but that has disappeared with use and washing. I love the colors, and how easily the lid snaps on, but is also easy to take off.

Comments about Product:

It does the job. The lid is sometimes hard to put on tightly, but maybe that is just me. I don't know if I would buy this product again. I like the looks of the product. I will give it an above average rating.

4.0 The (nearly) perfect food container.

Comments about Product:

Love the Innate MC2, I just wish it was a bit larger. I purchased this because it seemed like it be great for bringing leftovers to work—and it is. The expandlable, microwavable bowl was the key selling point for me. Works like a charm.

5.0 i love this container!

Comments about Product:

these containers are cute and the lid secures on so salads and rice/pasta dishes do not end up in my bag. I can just dump my food into the expandable top (and add any dressing or sauce) when i am ready to eat and enjoy! I purchased two as christmas presents for my mom and sister - a cute and responsible holiday gift!

4.0 Great, compact size

Comments about Product:

I like this container a lot. It is a perfect, compact size that is easy to take with me to work without bulking up my bag too much but still can hold a good amount of food. Also, the lid attaches very securely, so I am confident that it won't open or leak when I put it in my big. Of course, because it is stainless steel it is limited to mostly cold food. I have tried to transfer the food to the lid, after expanding it, and then heat the food in that in the microwave, which does work, but is an extra step. Overall, this seems like a really high-quality product and I recommend it.

Comments about Product:

I'm so happy I got this. I've been looking for a leakproof lunch container that wasn't plastic for some time, so when I saw this I was super excited. The lid is somewhat difficult to securely put on, but the awesomeness of the bowl makes up for that. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone!

5.0 Cool Design!

Comments about Product:

This container is awesome! Like others have said, it's best for pasta or rice-type dishes - the instructions say it's not meant to handle anything soupy. I've taken lasagna and casserole to work in it and it works great! I love how the lid pops out into a bowl.

4.0 These are great for small snacks, like nuts and go

These are great for small snacks, like nuts and goldfish. I wish they came in a slightly larger size. They are too small for grapes or cut up apples and other fruits.

Comments about Product:

These are really great for re-heating pasta at work. The container seals tight and when I'm ready to eat, I pop open the bowl, dump my food in and nuke it til it's hot.
