It's also one of the safest materials for food storage and handling, because it's easy to clean, durable and sanitary.

Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found in earth: iron ore, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen and manganese. 3.0 Peeling paint on lid

Comments about Product:

Just OK. Wish the paint wouldn't peel off the lids! Washing by hand, don't soak long, but that's what happens. Wish I could replace them. Do like the divided interior.

4.0 A great lunch container

Comments about Product:

These are great high-quality containers. I love the look of the stainless steel, and I love the colourful lids! I have all four of the models (one compartment, two compartment, three compartment, four compartment). I use them all on a regular basis. My one complaint is that the dividers, which are not removable, have gaps between them. So if you pack fruit in one compartment, you can't pack crackers in the next one without the crackers getting wet. What is the point of having the dividers if they won't keep the foods separate? I usually get around this by using silicone cups, but then what is the point of the dividers?Still, I give these high marks because I do like the stainless steel (I am trying to avoid plastics) and it has actually prompted me to eat healthier because I don't pack as many crackery things anymore since I would have to use a separate container from the fruits for it. Typically, I pack a sandwich in a sandwich wrap (or a glass jar instead with something microwaveable) and then a lunchbot with a fruit, a vegetable, and a dipper with nuts or seeds or raisins. Sometimes, I pack a second container with a snack of more fruit, and a crackery thing in one of the Ecolunchbox pods, which fit inside.I do often backslide on my no-plastics rule since my Easy Lunchbox container does have dividers with no gaps. I wish Lunchbots could refine the design a little. But for the most part, these have become go-to containers for me. The quality and fun factor is very high.

1.0 Would not buy again.

Comments about Product:

Paint on top eventually started chipping and peeling (and I always hand washed). Now I don't use them because I started finding little bits of orange and blue paint in my child's lunch when he brings it home from school. I was trying to avoid toxins : ( Stainless steel containers should last more than a year at this price.

5.0 very handy

Comments about Product:

I was looking for something bento-style that my 6 year couldn't break, but could easily open and have a nice fresh lunch. I also needed something not plastic that would not weigh down my bag on my walk to work. They look fairly small when you open them, but the lunchbots hold a sizeable portion of food nonetheless, don't weigh much, are sturdy and easy to clean. I'm very happy with my purchase.

5.0 Best all around value by far.

Comments about Product:

We have purchased a couple different brands of Stainless Steel lunch boxes and the LunchBots are by far the best quality, value and easy care. The are tough and cool looking too. My son loves that they are easy to open as well. They wash up great in the dishwasher and there are no seals or rings inside to mess with. We are very happy with them and would highly recommend LunchBots over the other brands. Best of all, no more plastic worries!

3.0 \"Not what I expected\"

Comments about Product:

I did receive your LunchBots Stainless Steel Food Container and the size was great. I need this container to keep my son's food warm while at school until he was ready to eat it at lunch. I had hoped that with it being stainless steel, it would be able to hold the heat of the food. Needless to say it didn't and my son was not happy with his lunch being cold. Nice product but not what I expected. I also was disappointed to find out that I could not return the product if I was not satisfied. According to the policy, it is not returnable if used. I wish I had asked about that up-front, I probably would have hesitated purchasing it. I think I will stick to companies that have a money back policy if not fully satisfied. Thanks.

5.0 Improved quality!

Comments about Product:

I have old lunchbot containers with painted lids. the paint has come off. so to have these new containers with no paint is fantastic! they will look new forever. the construction is durable and the sections are perfect for a small portions of food. i have been looking for a bento box type container and this one is perfect! i'm looking forward to making my starbucks protein plate copy in my new lunchbot! for the price, it's a bargain because it will last forever.

3.0

Comments about Product:

I loved the old version of these (5 stars), which were more rectangular.

These new ones have rounded corners and my bread (sandwiches) no longer fit in them.

I'm disappointed.

I still love the sturdy nature and easy washability but I really wish they didn't change the shape.

5.0 A+

Comments about Product:

Love this little box. It came smaller than I expected, but it's working out perfectly to hold three snacks but keep them separate from each other. Very handy, love that it's stainless steel, easy to open (for older kids 6+?), easy to clean in dishwasher.

4.0 Good for snacks - not leak-proof

Comments about Product:

These containers are perfectly sized and easy to clean since they are stainless steel. However, they are only good for sandwiches or snacks, rather than anything "wet" or "leaky" since the lids are not leak-proof.

5.0 good value

Comments about Product:

We've been using these for school lunches, snack packs when out and about on the weekend, and for small odds & ends snack storage in the fridge for about 3 years now. I'm glad to say they are holding up very well. They are not totally leak-proof in the lunch bag, so only use them with dry or moist food, nothing too wet. Still, my kid never has problems opening them on her own at school, and we have never had one come open in the lunch either - so the lid fits *just right*, not too tight or loose. The paint has gotten just slightly chipped after 3 years of pretty heavy use. (and taking them to the park, having them bang around with camping gear in my satchel, etc.) One time after leaving some perishables in the divided one for too long it took two washings to get the funky smell out because I didn't scrub around the divider area thoroughly, but that was really my own fault. These are probably the most trouble free, highly useful containers we have, mostly fool-proof. Between these and a couple of locking lid larger metal ones, and we have eliminated the need for plastic storage in our kitchen. Yay! I'd recommend these to anyone.

2.0 Smaller than EcoLunchbox

Comments about Product:

We have both the Lunchbots Uno and Ecolunchbox for sandwiches. If you're deciding between the two, go with the Ecolunchbox. The Uno is pretty with its painted lid, which I figure would eventually chip off (as noted by other reviewers), but it is also slightly smaller than the Ecolunchbox. This is evident by the listed dimensions, but what it means in real use is that the Uno's lid will not fit over a bagel. Bagels are no problem in the Ecolunchbox. Also, the snug fitting lid of the Uno requires a bit of manipulation to break the suction. This is okay for my 4th grader to do, but maybe not so easy for a kindergartener. The Lunchbot Uno is also made of a lighter gauge stainless steel - not as substantial as the Ecolunchbox, but lighter. Over all, although the Uno is less expensive than the Ecolunchbox, its lower quality and design make it less of a value. I would not buy this make/model again.

5.0 Exactly what we needed

Comments about Product:

We purchased the Uno and Duo for my 5.5 yo daughter's lunch and have enjoyed them. The lid is easy on/off for her petite hands and is secure. We used some reusable snack bags last year which ended up moldy on the inside after a year of use and hand-washing. These stainless steel containers will be cleaner and easier to use/keep for many years of school lunches.

5.0 Dries in Dishwasher & Fit Std Lunchbox!

Comments about Product:

We love all 3 styles of LunchBots! My kids use them for school lunches every day. They fit nicely inside the lunchbox and still leave room for a thermos and something bulky like a piece of fruit or yogurt cup. The Pico and Duo are especially great because you can pack two items in one container. The best aspect of LunchBots is that they dry in your dishwasher, unless EVERY reusable plastic container we used to own!!

2.0

Comments about Product:

I would only order with the stainless lid. Our duo's with the orange lids, peeled and flaked off. Unfortunately even after trying to pick/scrap off since 11/2009, still some remains. I think the all in one would be better, because since they do not seal tightly, even with dry foods their is cross "contamination", which does not make many in the under 10 crowd happy.

5.0 Big fan of the Lunchbot

Comments about Product:

I ordered the stainless steel lunchbot b/c I had previously had some of the colored (painted) ones and the lids were peeling. Let me take the oppportunity to say that I read another review that said the company had a bad batch and would replace any lids you asked for. I emailed them and within a week I had all new lids, and they assured me that they had fixed the problem. However I decided to try the plain stainless one this time and am very pleased. Some reviews complain that they leak but it CLEARLY says in the product description NOT to use it with liquid foods. I find it very convenient to pack snacks in - one side for a fruit and one side for pretzels or something similar. I would definitey purchase this product again.

5.0 Not just for lunch

Comments about Product:

I bought two of these. I use one to hold little stuff I don't want to lose in my vehicle. Rubber bands, ponytail elastics, spare change, wrapped toothpicks, and a bolt (dunno what it's for, but if I throw it away, I'll need it!) The other one holds a small gun cleaning kit in my shooting bag. They also make great mini first aid kits, craft kits for car trips, add magnetic shapes and you have busy boxes to keep the kids quiet in a waiting room, or with a couple heavy-duty neodymium magnets on the bottom they become a great little parts tray. Or you COULD put food in them...

3.0 So-So.

Comments about Product:

The dividers are not sealed so any amount of liquid will seep from one slot to another (or out the lid for that matter). So, anything that goes into the container must be dry. I will use them for dry snack containers from now on.

1.0 sharp/rough protrusions & badly aligned

Comments about Product:

I did get out a ruler before buying, and knew that these were likely to be Snack Bots, not LunchBots, however the construction process left, on the bottom of one rough protrusions and on the other, slightly sharp ones where the inserts were jammed in(out of alignment. I haven't the time or energy to deal with REUSEIT about a return...these will get the bottoms filed and will be used in a desk...not for food. I did want to warn others though that the quality, combined with the tiny size, makes for a better dollar store purchase...if one purchases at all.

1.0 paint guaranteed to chip off

Comments about Product:

I've had my lunch bot for more than a year. Over that time, I have found chips of the lid paint in my child's food, in her lunch bag, etc. I don't care if this is "non-toxic" paint (is it?). Even if you don't care about toxicity issues, be forewarned that this lunch box won't look so pretty after a very short while. *Please note: This was an issue on an isolated batch of Lunchbots which has been rectified. Please contact our customer service team in order to receive a replacement lid.

4.0 Great for lunches

Comments about Product:

These are great for bringing a lunch to school or work. They are easy to wash and pretty durable. The lids are not a super tight seal, so non-liquid foods are best (i.e. pack salad dressing or sauces separately - it will leak). My only complaint is that in one of the duos I ordered the divider fell out on the second wash. I was even washing it by hand!

5.0 Lunchbox for years

Comments about Product:

I buy Lunchbots for my daughter's lunch daily at school. We have the large (Uno) and the medium size (Duo) with divider for 2 compartments. If you're buying this for an adult lunch, order the bigger size. I don't have a problem with things leaking, but I also don't put liquids in there. I have to say that I've had the same 3 for 2 years now, and they are so durable, never take on smells of foods and dishwash beautifully. I use cooling packs below and above in the lunchbox and everything stays cold. I highly recommend them!

Comments about Product:

I just got this box in the mail, and PLEASE NOTE that the description and category on this website are VERY misleading. Please look at the dimensions and get out a ruler before you buy. 3.0 Review of the trio version

Comments about Product:

I like the box for my snacks for work. I wish the dividers had a smoother finish or had been welded into the box itself, because humus and grains tend to stick in the corners. I haven't used it in the dishwasher because I notice the edges are starting to stain, but not rust. Overall, very good but wish it was constructed a bit better.

Comments about Product:

These are great products. Easy to open and close, even for a preschooler, yet they stay closed securely. Dishwasher-safe, too. 5.0 great for adult lunches

Comments about Product:

I have been using my Lunchbots for a little over a year, and I love them. They travel well, and the variety of sizes covers most every contingency. Sometimes I pack them like a bento box, using greens /lettuce as a liner to hold items within the containers (like hummus - to go along with carrots and apple slices). I generally hand wash the Lunchbots, but they have been through the dishwasher a few times; and my lids are still in great shape (some people noted problems with chipping paint).

3.0 Paint Peels

Comments about Product:

The containers themselves have been great - we've been using them daily for the kids' lunches for over a year but the colored paint on the top is peeling off - first in little chips but now in strips - it's almost all off. I hand wash them so it's not because the dishwasher has been too tough on them. I'd like to see them create a moveable divide like Japanese bento boxes do (but alas, most of them are plastic). Also, if they could create insulated versions to keep food a little warm that would be fantastic! Thermoses have a terrible shape - this rectangular shape is great. Other plus is that they're easy for the kids to open.

5.0 Awesome containers

Comments about Product:

I purchased the Eco and was so pleased with it that I purchased the rest of the set. The containers are easy to hand wash at the end of each day, they don't retain smells or flavors. I love the fact that my ice pack can no longer smash my sandwich or chips. However, they are only designed for dry foods, not liquids. They are not leakproof and they don't claim to be. Lunchbots has recently designed some round containers that have a silicon seal and are leakproof, they are supposed to be widely available shortly.

5.0 Great for daycare

Comments about Product:

We bought these for our two-year-old who has food allergies and attends daycare. They are great for organizing his snacks and lunch so there is one container for each meal time. I'm guessing the teachers help him open them- they might be hard for a two-year-old. We can fit 3 of these stacked in a Built insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, a drink box, and a water bottle. As others noted, these do not appear to be leak proof, including between compartments. To resolve this we use some small, flat, plastic containers that fit inside the Uno and Duo for things like yogurt or juicy veggies/fruit. While it may defeat the purpose of avoiding plastic, we already had these containers so rather than throw them away we found a use for them. There must be a stainless steel option that would fit inside. Would be great if Lunchbots made one.

5.0 Awesome for school lunches/car trips

Comments about Product:

Bought both of these as well as the other sizes for school lunches and car trips. They are perfect! The kids love them because they look cool and can open them easily. I love them because they are easy to wash and ready to go (instead of waiting for cloth sandwich bags to air dry). Also perfect for car snacks b/c they can set them on their laps as "plates". My husband loves them b/c I've stopped using plastic baggies. I would recommend the Kids Konserve Stainless Steel Food Containers for wet items. Get them- they are worth the price!

Comments about Product:

We got the Uno, Duo and Pico this year for school lunches and I'm back to get some for my work lunches! I reach for these more than any other (Laptop lunch, snack taxi etc.) as they keep foods safe from being crushed in the backpack. I usually pack the Pico for snack and then the Duo or Uno for lunches. My only wish would be to make these leakproof so I could pack yogurt or other "wet" foods into one of them as well.

I bought these containers for my kids' school lunches. They work great. One compartment for a veggie or fruit, the other for a grain, sandwiches into another container, and NO MORE plastic baggies. My 4 kids have no trash!

5.0 sandwich and snack sized

Comments about Product:

No more crushed sandwiches or fruit! These are the perfect size for me. I use the uno for a sandwich and duo for fruit and nuts, or carrots and fruit. Both together easily fit inside the small packit personal cooler, along with the pico and a cup of yogurt. They are easy to wash and great for keep sandwiches from being crushed or mangled during my morning commute.

4.0

Comments about Product:

The first day I took these to work, one of my coworkers said, "that looks like what my parents used when they were kids." It seems funny to me that as we get more advanced, some of the best things are ideas from the past! I love these! I bought two sizes to fit with my typical lunch. They can't be reheated in the MW, but I just put things on my reusable plate for that. Great for salads, but the lids are not completely watertight. I have spilled a bit of things in my cotton lunch bag, so might add a rubber band over the lid in the future. That's a small sacrifice to stay away from plastic though! There is no taste on the food, and they look great and hold a good amount of food. I would give them a 5 star rating aside from the leaking issue.

5.0 Great Containers!

Comments about Product:

The lid is also stainless steel, which I couldn't tell from the photo. That makes them a little less sealable, but it's good to have no plastic content at all. These work great for my kids' lunches.

5.0 Works great, looks good, good quality

Comments about Product:

Got this for hiking and lunches. I prefer the metal option much over the plastic boxes that seem to be standard here, and this solution won't disappoint you. Does what it promises, and does so well. It's well crafted. The lid closes well. The separation also works well, but you shouldn't use it with liquids.

1.0 Product leaked on first day

Comments about Product:

I was excited to spend a lot for this item thinking of longevity - i placed cut bananas, melon and peaches in it and then off to work in nyc - thin and narrow and placed in my nice messenger bag, after commuting on the subway 30 minutes, i took it out of my bag to place in the fridge only to find that it leaked all over my files - lid was on snug and tight, liquid went around the lid and dripped all over my stuff - sooooo it appears it must travel flat to be effective. glad i spent $$$ - one may want to consider plastic lunch boxes from a drugstore. :(

5.0 Love it!

Comments about Product:

We use them every day. My daughter is the "allergy kid" and takes her own food with her everywhere we go. These look great, even after a year of washing. Lids stay on well, but are easy for a four year old girl with small hands to open and close by herself. Perfect for items we don't want crushed, like fresh berries. The largest size is for an adult portion. We use the yellow for snacks, and the orange and blue for lunch. Nice to have both with and without dividers. They pack nicely into lunchbags. We get compliments on them frequently. They may seem pricey, but we get our money's worth out of them and keep ordering more.

5.0 Really like these!!!

Comments about Product:

I bought these for my kindergartener to take her snack to school. They're GREAT!!! She can get them open easily, they don't weigh her backpack down, even full of snacks and she really likes them! They clean up easily and are such a great alternative to plastic containers or baggies! We haven't used the single one yet, just the duo...I'm sure it will work out as well as the duo. Will buy more when my youngest child starts school, so he can also take them!

4.0 Add a rubber band, and you're golden

Comments about Product:

I got very tired of pulling mushed PB&J out of a sandwich bag when hiking - I wanted something reusable and squash-proof. The UNO and DUO are just about perfect - they are big enough to hold a decent amount of food for a day hike. They definitely aren't squash-able. My only complaint: the tops don't snap on tightly. But a rubber-band solved that problem. Recommended!

5.0 So cool!

Comments about Product:

The Uno and Duo Lunchbots are perfect for kids' lunches. I avoid disposable sandwich bags like the plague, but the plastic sandwich boxes I got at the grocery store take up so much room in a lunchbox. Plus, I was getting tired of sending multiple containers for the kids to pry open and then keep up with. The Lunchbots are great--easy for kids to open, and the compartments are a good size for my 4- and 6-year old children. They're easy to clean because there aren't any nooks and crannies for food to get jammed into, and they can go right into the dishwasher. I've read reviews that the paint comes off the lid--I haven't experienced this, but I don't think it would really bother me anyway. I love these Lunchbots and will probably end up buying more.

3.0

Comments about Product:

I bought these to use for my son who is in 3rd grade for his school lunch. They seem to be well made but are bigger than I thought and heavy. I find that I tend to reach for the reusable snack and sandwich bags more often. I find these are easier to pack in his lunch box and not as cumbersome.

3.0 A little too large for kids' lunchboxes

Comments about Product:

These take up a little too much room in the lunchboxes. Also, it would be more useful to me if one side was larger than the other so I could fit a dollop of hummus on the small side and lots of chips or veggies on the other. But, still, they have been useful and my kids like using them, although I don't use them as often as some of the other products I have purchased from this site.

4.0 Very good container

Comments about Product:

I really enjoy using my lunchbot container. I also bought the larger Eco container and between the two have plenty of room for my lunch. You have to be careful not to put anything moist on one side and something dry on the other - the dry part is bound to get a little wet. Overall, a very good container for my lunch.

Comments about Product:

The Uno barely fits a sandwich, with no room to spare. That makes it hard for little kids to get the sandwich out. I would like it to be about a 1/4" longer. Other than that, I love the fact that they're stainless steel, easy to clean, they keep the sandwich from getting squished, and they're easy to open and close. I also bought the Duo, which is a good product, but I'll just have to figure out 2 dry snacks that go together. I think it'll be good for something like crackers and cheese to keep them separated.

5.0 I bought two sets of each for my kids and ended up

Comments about Product:

I bought two sets of each for my kids and ended up using the Uno for myself! One kid wants a full size sandwich which fits nicely in the Uno. I put a napkin on top and she's ready to eat at lunch. The lids are easy to open for my kids, easier than plastic lids on Tupperware items that we used before. My younger daughter wants half a sandwich and grapes/apple slices so the Duo works well for her. Sometimes we go totally veggie with fruit on one side and cucumber/baby carrots/cherry tomatoes/celery sticks on the other side. Never any problem with food sliding over or leaking. These lunchbots are very easy to clean. I handwash them every day and let them air dry. We use the Klean Kanteen 12 oz bottles (with sport top) with the Uno/Duo LunchBots in our Built NY lunchboxes. For snacktime at school, the fabric snack pouches. All these metal items are so much easier to clean than plastic; that in itself is a reason to switch over!

Comments about Product:

This container is so cool. My daughter says all her kindergarten friends admire it. Great for holding 2 different snacks: almonds and apple slices or celery sticks and peanut butter for dipping. I wish they came in smaller sizes (like half the size of this one) so it would pack more easily in a lunchbox. Easy to clean.

Comments about Product:

Great product--highly recommend! Construction is better than I expected -- not at all flimsy. I love how these containers open and close almost effortlessly, but somehow they stay closed securely on their own. Perfect sizes for lunch items, too. Kid-friendly, too. My 3-year-old enjoys having his lunch packed in these. I only wish there was a watertight one I could purchase for packing yogurt and such.

4.0 Sturdy, nice fit to the lid

Comments about Product:

Sturdy, nice fit to the lid. I put a sandwich in the Uno and there is plenty of room. In fact I wish it was a little smaller so it fit better. I like the concept of the Duo, 2 compartments means less containers to carry. They are great for dry foods like nuts, chips, or pretzels but don't use them with some types of fruit or anything that has a higher moisture content. I ended up with pineapple juice on my grapes as the liquid went from one side to the other. The paint on the lid does seem to scratch easily but the containers are solid. I use the Uno every day, but the duo not as much, preferring the "pico" size better.

5.0 I use the blue uno just about every day for my kid

Comments about Product:

I use the blue uno just about every day for my kids sandwiches in their lunch boxes and the duo or the small yellow container for fruit, chips, trail mix, cookies etc. They like it because the sandwich and other food is not squished by lunch time. The tops were klanking together and getting scratched a bit because of putting more than one in the lunch tote at a time, but I solved this by putting their knapkin in between the boxes. With the klean Canteen and lunchbots or thermoses the lunch bag is heavier in their backpacks, but they don't seem to mind. These are great containers that are easy to clean. Great purchase along with the Built NY lunch totes!

4.0 I loved the look of these lunchbots, great colors

Comments about Product:

I loved the look of these lunchbots, great colors.... I thought "I can't go wrong with food grade stainless steel" but I have a few concerns. What if they dent and the lids, which don't fit that tight to begin with don't fit anymore after a small dent. Also absolutely no liquids or remotely a liquid can go in these because they don't seal. For example watermelon drips and creates a sticky mess and the duo can only hold things okay to be slightly mixed. I put grapes in one side and BBQ chips in the other and tah dah, BBQ grapes, yuck! I would suggest to the company to have a seal and a better compartmentalized duo. Still with all the plastic out there we are making do with them and are still happy.

5.0 These are fantastic

Comments about Product:

These are fantastic. I've been using flimsy plastic containers and they flip upside down in the dishwasher and take forever to drip dry. These are easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher (oils don't seem to stick to them like it does to plastics), they dry fast, they are a nice size and shape for compact lunch packing. The Uno holds a sandwich made of the smaller or larger sandwich breads. The Duo is nice for separating items that aren't runny (the divider won't keep something like pudding on one side and chips on the other- your chips will get soggy).

Comments about Product:

I've been working to eliminate plastic storage containers from my household but didn't want to carry glass to and from work every day. LunchBots are the answer. They are versatile, easy to clean, and don't stain. The downside is that they aren't leakproof, but I knew that before I bought them and I still love them. Comments about Product:

We ordered both of these to complete our waste free lunch kit. I loved the idea of the stainless steal instead of plastic. The lid fits securly, but I wouldn't put liguids or something overly messy inside. The duo fits half a sandwich and veggies straws perfectly for a childs lunch. The Uno is great for cut up fruit or salad. My 5th grader has got lots of "cools" and "neats" with her new containers.

5.0 I am a business coach and organizing consultant

Comments about Product:

I am a business coach and organizing consultant. I spend a lot of time listening carefully to my clients talk about what really matters to them, then helping them clear whatever clutter stands between them and their goals. One client, herself an award-winning designer, teaches information design at a university. She does not use plastic on her food, ever. She has a grueling midweek teaching schedule, with barely 5 minutes for lunch between classes. Recently I presented her with two LunchBots, an uno and a duo. Was she happy with the no-plastic containers? You bet! Was she impressed with the great design? Definitely. Two happy clients — my client is happy with me, and I’m happy with LunchBots. Thank you for a wonderful product!

5.0 This is wonderful !

Comments about Product:

This is wonderful !!!!! I love the fact that it is separated into two compartments - that really keep things separate. I put peanut butter in one and celery or apples in the other for my kids. Or I put the same thing in both compartments but assign each child their own side and this keeps them from fighting. It fits great in my bag or a lunch box. I wish that I could give this 10 stars ! Very easy to clean and it closes snug but not so much so that it is hard to open.
