I still haven't found the *perfect* reusable bag, but I do find myself reaching for these over the other kinds I have. Washed or wet foods (grapes, carrots) don't leak through these bags, and the zipper is great. I've had my oldest set for two years (used at least once a week for a young child), and the zipper is still working great. The inside is now discolored, but it hasn't cracked. They do take a long time to dry, but I wouldn't expect to wash them and use them again immediately anyway. Having more than one set for lunches is necessary. Another pitfall is that the exteriors of the light colored ones inevitably stain, but little kids certainly don't care about that, and the darker ones don't show stains anyway! We like the mini size for small snacks.
I started to look for an alternative to all those plastic baggies which are expensive and bad for the earth. I love these and use them for packing snacks, chips or cookies in my kids' lunch boxes. The designs are cute and I find them really easy to clean.
Bought the dino print and it is just as pictured on the site. It is like a small pencil case with a food-friendly soft plastic inside coating. It's easy-care and great for snacks like grapes, celery, carrots, or even small apples. I hand wash them and put them on my bamboo bottle-dryer.
I would just love to get these but do not think my 15-year old male teen will find these manly enough. How about just a solid color in olive green or the color of a brown paper bag?
