Lovely & practical! Accommodates both loose leaf and bagged teas. I am buying more for gifts!
THIS IS AWESOME! It's PERFECT for tea or water flavored with fresh fruit or herbs. Hot or cold, no sweating, no leaking. Size is perfect to drop in my carryall bag or briefcase. I feel safer since all the glass is on the inside, protected by the polycarb outer layer. And it really shows off the contents -- you get "eye candy" while enjoying the beverage!
This unit has been wonderful to use. It will leak a little if I'm not robust on screwing the lids on. It keeps the tea hot, and it a wonderful showcase for teas. Tea will obviously get bitter if you leave the leaves in too long to steep, which is why I chose this model that you can put the leaves in the lid, turn the unit upside down, and then remove the tea after steeping. So many people have asked me where to pick one up! It's wonderful for tea on the go, but I also use it at home sharing it with my toddler and older children who have no problem drinking from it. Easy to clean and a wonder to watch tea blooms in! I love it!
If you like loose tea, this is the travel mug for you. I love having it at work and have completely eliminated sodas from my diet because I have access to such great drinks. I like that it is glass on the inside and polycarbonate on the outside. You get the benefits of glass on the inside (no smells, easy to clean) with the less-breakable feeling of plastic on the outside.
I am not a big tea or coffee drinker, but love green tea and herbal teas. I use this at work, I get soooo many coments, usually on the floating contents, then on the wonderfull design. So easy to use and the double wall allows you to carry it without burning your hands. Love the gold design on the lid. All in all I have sent many to this site to buy.
The Libre Tea Glass is another invention in the quest for convenient loose-leaf tea, an quite a welcome one at that. The tea glass is actually an all-in-one infuser and travel mug that offers two different infusion options so that serious tea-drinkers can make their tea the way they like it.
The Libre Tea Carafe is fantastic! I have 2 of them - use them everyday. They are perfect for anytype of tea or teasan on the go or at home - it keeps your beverage warm and strains while you sip. The only problem is I would like one twice the size! Please consider making a larger capacity one as well. 18 oz or something close to that.
The LibreTea Glass ‘n Poly tea glass however is a ‘break-the-mold’ fantastic accessory. For anyone who enjoys tea everyday using a mug and an infuser or even just teabags, this is pretty much the perfect accessory
I had this bottle for about a year now, and even though it still works well for me (no leaking at all), after about 3 months tea started collecting between the glass and plastic walls. It has now stained the outside wall and the screw top, and just doesn't look as good as it did before. No way that can be washed out, I tried pretty much everything. Which is too bad, because the idea is great, and the bottle looks really neat when new.
I really like this product. The glass liner provides for easy interior cleaning. The filter works great. I do have a couple of draw-backs, though. The glass interior is surprisingly easy to break if you drop it. I thought that it would be more durable with the polycarbonate exterior. The second drawback depends on your use. I use mine for various drinks and when I put smoothie in it to take to work, it gets between the glass and the polycarbonate at the top near the threads for the cap. It's a bugger to get clean. In fact, I need a brush to get it out. Since the polycarbonate outer makes this not recyclable but hardly adds effective function, I have to give this a middle score.
I bought this Libre because it offered the promise of durability on the outside and glass on the inside (this latter is essential since I won't drink off plastic). After a few weeks of use I've noticed two flaws. I like the size and shape of the bottle but these drawbacks are frustrating. The first is that the tea reservoir is too small for loose tea. The water doesn't circulate well enough. Since you don't drink it with the tea reservoir on, the tea filter could easily extend further into the bottle. But it doesn't and the result is too small a space for loose tea. The second is related to manufacturing and that you must turn the bottle upside down to steep the tea. Mine now leaks unless I really tighten it, which poses a whole separate problem when I finally unscrew it and the tea leaks out due to the pressure difference created as it cools. I can't say how common this problem is. I might be an isolated case. I also have an Auqaovo, which I love. Unless you're taking the tea leaves with you, I think it's a better solution.
The bottle is insulated nicely and has a fun hologram in the top that has been amusing my coworkers. However, the tea "filter" is more of a screen, as the holes in the mesh are quite large. Useful for large flower teas, but for anything smaller, you're going to be drinking leaves.
While I love the idea of this product, I haven't been as pleased with it as I had hoped. First of all, it's much smaller than I realized (this is my fault for not paying close enough attention to the size), but that's not my biggest let down. The bottles is designed with a glass interior wall, which is encapsulated by a plastic exterior. Where the two parts meet, there is a groove that liquid collects in a bit. If you were just drinking straight tea or water, then I wouldn't worry about this groove, but I like to drink tea with honey and juice out of my bottle. With water bottles I've had in the past, an area like this almost always ends up getting moldy, since you it's almost impossible to get in there and thoroughly clean it. Also, the bottle isn't holding up as well as I hoped. I've had this product for three weeks and I already have lots of scratches on the clear, outside plastic. I also already managed to put a big dent in the top edge of the cap, just from carrying it around in my bag. I don't think I'd recommend this product. I wish I would have bought a completely glass double-walled bottle with a metal top that wouldn't scratch as easily.
