Design and Functionality
LunchSkins are a sustainable, convenient replacement for plastic baggies, wraps or bulky plastic containers. (See our tips below!) These snack bags are half the size of the LunchSkin Sandwich Bags and have a secure Velcro closure that keeps your food in place. Made with the same material that high-end patisseries use to keep baked goods fresh, they’ll hold any food items without absorbing moisture or grease. And, unlike plastic baggies, you can store hot items in the LunchSkin without melting. Plus, all of the bright patterns go together (and with the sandwich-sized version), so you can create your own custom lunch set! A discrete area to write your (or your child’s) name means you won’t lose or confuse your Lunch Skins.

Materials
Made from thick cotton fabric coated with food-safe, moisture-proof polyurethane liner. Fabric has been used for years in bakeries and patisseries and meets all EU and U.S. standards for food contact. The highly-adhesive ink used to screen the patterns on the fabric has been independently tested for safety and determined to be lead-free, BPA-free and phthalate-free.

Sustainability

Care instructions
LunchSkins are dishwasher safe – turn them inside out before washing & let them dry completely before using with food. It’s recommended that you wash LunchSkins before the first use. They will soften and fade with use and multiple washings – just like a pair of your favorite old jeans. To keep them newer longer, spot clean them and air dry.

Totally awesome. I have a variety now and everyone in the house is into the groove of using them and cleaning them out when they empty lunchboxes. I have 3 people routinely using them and so far they are holding up--even after going through the dishwasher. I wish they were a little cheaper--I would buy more!

I love the designs, but I am not happy with the bag size. It is not big enough to put very much of any snack in. Also, it should be a little wider so you can still close it securely with a snack inside. Not happy considering I paid for 4 snack bags.

I bought several of these baggies for school lunches and realize I don't have enough!! I need there to be a few more designs. The bags wash and dry well, although strawberries have stained them a little. The closure is noisy, so not to be used in a quiet setting! Overall, I think these baggies are fantastic!

These bags are okay, but compared to others I have tried or seen, they simply don't compare. I don't really like the stiff material which makes it really difficult to turn inside out to be sure inner corners are well cleaned. It hasn't happened yet, but it looks like the material is going to give at the side seams. Keeping my fingers crossed that I am wrong! Also, I think the velcro is so secure it can be difficult to open at times...especialy for little fingers with less dexterity. Food risks being crushed in the attempt. But if you want a secure "seal," this is your bag.

We've purchased this product in the past and they used to close on top but now there is a flap to close. That means they hold less than they used to. I wish they held just a little bit more as sometimes the sandwich size is too big and the snack size can be a bit small for odd shapes like grapes, etc. They are perfect for crackers and other flat objects.

I just purchase a couple of lunch skins snack bags along with the sandwich bags. I haven't had a chance to use the sandwich bags but I love the snack bags! My grandson had the biggest grin on his face (2yrs old) when I handed him one and he opened it by himself. I'm not sure if he was happy he could do it himself or if he liked the contents! But, they are sturdy enough so they don't flop or close on him as he is trying to get something out of the bag (unlike the plastic kinds). I recommend these to everyone! They're great!!

The snack bags and sandwich bags are pretty good. They hold up well through dishwasher use. My only negatives would be that the sandwich bag could be a bit bigger, I have to smush my sandwich to fit in. As well, the velcro is extremely loud, but I guess that keeps the food more secure.

I have to say this product performs better than expected. Food items are well contained. My daughters uneaten crackers from Friday stayed pretty fresh until Monday. I expected they would get stale. The best thing is that the material of these LunchSkins bags drys really quickly. I thought I would need to order double the amount I needed so that I could they would have enough time to dry between uses but these dry in less than overnight.

these snack bags are FABULOUS! I bought a few last year, but loaded up this year as I'm trying to stop using plastic bags. I have 3 children and use them for their snacks and lunches. They love them too. The designs are great - my 10 year old son even thinks they are cool. They wash out beautifully and I dry them on the plastic bag dryer by reuseit too!

They are better than the bags at Re-Usies.com but they do not appear to be as good as some bags I found at Leaps and Bounds on-line. These have a zipper. The Lunch skins are notr as airtight as a plastic bags so they are not good for storage of more than a few hours or things dry out.

I love these snack bags. They are easy to clean, durable and come in cute designs. I mainly use them for homemade granola bars and these are just the right size for them. I'd love to see them make a smaller size (about half the snack bag size) that would be handy for a handful of nuts, dried fruits or other small dry snacks.

I bought a second one of these snack bags because I found a good regular use for the other one (keeping my un-Green beverage packets in there... I'm still working on correcting that one). As I said in a previous review, I wish they had a zipper option, or even an option that opened at the short end instead of the long one. But otherwise, great product, and I love that it can be washed in the dishwasher.

I love these. I've tried a lot of different snack bags and these are my favorite for snacks that might be a little moist, like carrots or sliced apples. They are small, so you may not fit an entire sliced apple if it's a large apple, but they don't stain and are very easy to clean and don't get moldy. I find it holds the right amount though for snacks for my 5 and 8 year old.

We ordered several of the LunchSkins Snack Bags in order to replace plastic bags. LunchSkins have a great water-resistant surface that cleans easily (just a quick rinse under running water) and durable velcro closure. My only complaint is that the bags are not air tight, which means snacks don't stay crisp for more than a day. So long as we pack our snacks daily there aren't any problems. We also use the LunchSkins to hold dog treats (works great!)

Both my 5-year old and 3-year old are not strong enough to open these snack bags because the velcro goes completely across the opening (and it a really strong velcro). I am returning them. They are great for older kids or adults. The Reuseit brand version work much better for younger kids and I use them for my lunch too! Highly recommend the Reuseit version.

I bought 4 of these a few weeks ago to use in my elementary school-aged boy's lunch boxes. They mainly hold pretzels but I also put in a peanut butter cracker "sandwich", which ends up smearing peanut butter all over the inside. I've been washing with dish soap and warm water and air drying. If these hold up with daily washing, I'll be pretty satisfied. For the price, these ought to last a lifetime!

I ordered 2 sandwich bags and 4 snack size. One of my favorite features is that these can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Similar products are washing machine safe, but that kind of grosses me out! The LunchSkins are easy to wipe out. I only throw them in the dishwasher about once a week or after a particularly messy PB&J sandwich. My son has no problems opening the velcro which provides a good tight closure. We have both taken fruit like cut strawberries, cantalope, etc. without any leakage in the lunch box. These are so good that I just ordered 4 more sandwich bags and 4 more snack bags. You can't go wrong with these!!!

My boys love using these snack bags, but they're a bit small. We love the dishwasher-safe feature, they're a classic design, and so far they're holding up well. But my kids are big fruit-eaters, and these bags don't work very well for that - just a tad too small to handle the bulk of fresh fruit.

After reading the raving reviews, I ordered the snack sized reusable bags from Lunchskin, WasteNot, and Reusies. I didn't like the Lunckskins at all. The fabric is hard and not the soft fabric like WasteNot and Reusies. I honestly don't understand the raving reviews about Lunchskin snack bags. I am returning the Lunchskins snack bags today and definitely keeping the WasteNot and Reusies, which I love.

The Lunchskins snack bag is a perfect size for some loose candy (m&m's, Runts), and it is super-easy to wash (dishwasher!), but the Velcro is really noisy and a little cumbersome considering the contents I'm using it for. My husband thought it would have been perfect if the opening was on the short end - it would be great if that was offered as an option. I saw that Reuseit offered bags that had zip-tops, which would have been perfect, but I try to keep my purchases to items made in the USA when I can. My husband preferred the snackTAXI snack bag for its ease of use. It's not as easy to clean as the Lunchskins, but the one that my husband will actually use is the best one.

These snack bags are great because they dry quickly. The one downsize is they are a little small. i like to send a handful of corn chips with some salsa and you really can get many large size corn chips in the snack bag. These bags are good for fruit and small cookies. I also put carrot and celery sticks in this bag, or even half a sandwich. I have started using the larger bag by this same company for the corn chips. Otherwise, it's great. Wish I had started using these sooner. I purchase 1 snack bag and one sandwich page for each child, along with bento boxes. Honestly, lunch suddenly seems easier to pack... Worth the investment.

Love the prints and love the ease. Wipe out the crumbs and air dry. I would recommend these for lunches. Snack size is sort of small, but just the right size for crackers, pretzels, some dried fruit. We love the sandwich size too.

I have now been through two sets of these and they are great until a few months pass and then a bad chemical smell starts. I wash the daily and use them regularly in our lunches, but the smell has made even my 6 year old refuse to take them. Now I am left with bags that look like new, but don't smell so good.

I really wanted to eliminate using plastic sandwich and snack bags this year. I read the reviews on a lot of products and settled on these. I bought 2 LunchSkins snack holders for my daughter and 2 for myself in September. They have been used every school day and are still good as new. These have really held up and are easy to clean. Sometimes I just turn them inside out and hand wash while other times I put them on the top rack of the dishwasher to clean them. Love the sandwich size also. I would recommend these to everyone!

I wasn't sure when I bought these if they could really replace the baggies I was using in my lunches. Since I'm already using a stainless steel thermos and a water bottle with my lunch bag, I thought the next natural step is those baggies! So, I use the small snack size for cheese or crackers or pretzels, etc. I use the larger size for tortillas and small sandwiches. Liked it so much, I just bought more. I also bought some for an environmentally conscious friend who loves pink. A colleague saw mine, loved them, and bought some, too! Place inside out in the dishwasher to clean. Crumbs get stuck in the velcro, but can be brushed out.

At first was disappointed, they are skinny making closing them with something in it almost impossible. Still we have made do since September now in april they are torn and smell bad even after cleaning them. Go with the snack taxi, we also got some of them at the same time and still look new.

This bag is very useful, works for dry snacks and veggies and nice and compact. The velcro is a little hard for little hands to open. Cleaning is a little tricky because hard to turn inside out. Love the designs. The green circle pattern adds a little pizzazz to the lunchbag.

I wish it had a ziplock seal because I need it for items such as veggies that need to be kept fresh or cereal that I will put in my yogurt. I actually haven't used it yet because those are the items that I carry most often. I like the colors that they come in and their design seems good.

I purchased a few of the larger LunchSkins well over a year ago and they are still holding up perfectly, so I ordered this smaller one for snacks. It is great size for smaller amounts of snacks, but I do agree with other customers that it has a slightly petroleum smell. My other 2 bags never had this smell. I am hoping that the odor will diminish with use and washing.

I use these everydays as snack bags (instead of sandwhich bags) They are good size for both. Issues I have is that if I leave food stored in there, the smell of the chemical material leaches into the food. They are cute. I was planning to buy more for food storage, however do to the taste and smell of food after two days. I will just use for taking food to work.

I have been using these bags for a few weeks now and they still have a chemical smell that does not seem to be fading. Construction seems to be good, but I'm beginning to wonder if the bags will ever lose their unappetizing (and unhealthful?) odor.

This is the perfect size to put in a few cookies but you have to be careful. The first time I used it the cookies got a little stale. You really have to make sure the fold is in the right place when attaching the flap to the velcro so there are no gaps.

I also purchased the LunchSkin sandwich bags which seem to be more accommodating for snacks. The larger size works better for chips, popcorn, fruit, etc. while these smaller snack bags are best for trail mix and nuts. I do use them for mini carrots, too. The inside does get stained and you have to wash it out after every use or it will smell like the last thing you had in there, but it's not a big deal. I have thrown them in the drier for quick drying and they come out fine. Much better than plastic baggies and my kids love the designs. They also take up much less room in the lunchboxes than most plastic/stainless containers, although of course you wouldn't want to use these LunchSkins for "wet" things such as raspberries.

I love this product, because I am not throwing away loads of plastic baggies every week (think 3 kids- lunch and snack). The only downside is some foods don't stay as fresh when packed the night before (like nuts, corn nuts, etc). I LOVE that I can stick these on the top rack of my dishwasher to clean. That makes it all worthwhile- and the kids like the designs. Bags are pretty small- they fit a handful of apple slices, but not the whole apple. The sandwich bags are pretty good size, though.

Sometimes the snacks are a little stale so I usually only use it for grapes, carrots, etc. crackers and chips seem to not stay as fresh. We love, love, LOVE these bags! They are awesome for packing cookies, crackers, grapes, and other smaller snacks! They are so well made--the velcro is strong enough to hold the bag closed, but easy enough for my preschooler to get it open! The best part is that they clean up easily and dry fast! This is a great product. I use it daily in packing my children's school lunches. I put in apple or cheese slices and because of the lunchskins material, the food stays fresh and moist. I like the way the closure has velcro all the way across, instead of just a tab in the middle. Simple to clean -- I turn it inside out and wash it with warm soapy water, then hang it to dry. This snack bag dries a bit more quickly than the snacktaxi or reusie bags (when they are washed the same way), and as a result, the lunchskin has become the one I use the most.

These are really great! They are sewn very nicely and are made from sturdy cloth. It takes some effort to clean these every night and dry them out (I let them dry inside out, to make sure the inside is driest). And the designs are very cute.

LOVE these! What a great idea. These come in two sizes and I got both. The larger ones are the size for a sandwich and the little ones are half that big. The material feels like a cross between vinyl and fabric -- very sturdy and lightweight. There is velcro across the whole top so they close really tightly. The bags are flat but are flexible so that they can be pulled into a pouch shape... We have used these for cookies, crackers, grapes, tortilla chips and sandwiches. I am ordering a few more of the smaller ones already. My daughter said her friends at high school were very interested in these... am thinking of getting these for friends at Christmastime.

So cute, the kids love them and they are well made. They clean up well and hopefully will last a long time. I have been using a pastry brush to clean out the corners before wiping them clean because it's easier than getting the corners turned inside out. The snack size holds a full cup of jumbo raisins or 3 whole graham crackers and still closes completely to give you an idea of the capacity. I would like to see plain fabrics as well as the great ones already offered to attract the older boys! Love the name space--holds a Mabels Label beautifully!

We've had these for about 3 weeks now and love them! They are the same size as the snack size disposable bags, and this is perfect for us. The velcro is strong so the bag doesn't come open and food seems to stay fresh, unlike a couple of the other styles we tried. Yet, my kids ages 2 and 5 have no trouble opening them. The bags are very easy to clean and dry - I've been washing out by hand and leaving on a bottle drying rack overnight. I like that the kids' names can be clearly written on the front so they can easily be returned if left on the lunch table at school. Will definitely be buying more!
