Design & Functionality
Nalgene HDPE 16 oz reusable bottles are lightweight, economical and virtually unbreakable. Comes with loop-top cap that won't get lost. Fits standard bicycle cages, waist packs and backpack pockets. Permanent graduations on the bottle allow for easy measuring and mixing of powdered foods and drinks. Plus, you can freeze these bottles unlike metal bottles (allow room for expansion).

Use a humangear capCAP to add a narrow spout to your wide-mouth bottle for easy drinking.

Sustainability
Nalgene bottles are reusable and 100% recyclable. Single-use, disposable water bottles (PET plastic) create millions of tons of unnecessary waste each year. According to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled. Materials
Along with polypropylene (#5), HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) are safe, non-leaching plastics. HDPE is a sturdy and reliable translucent plastic. Nalgene bottles made from HDPE resist UV penetration, which can damage and discolor the plastic. LDPE (#4) is flexible, impact-resistant and microwave-proof. Both plastics are dishwasher safe and able to withstand temperatures from -148 to 176° F (-100 to 80° C).

I have been looking for the perfect replacement to the disposable water bottle, and I don't think it gets much closer than this. At 16 oz, it fits in a cup holder in my vehicle, and it has a narrow mouth that fits most of the half-moon ice cubes from my home frig icemaker (the odd-sized ice-cubes won't fit.) I wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher and it fits without a problem. I bought two bottles that I alternate every day. If I had it to do over, I would buy this again.

1.0 Broke in the first couple days

I was just starting to get used to the idea of liking the small size of this bottle and the strap broke off the top cap! That's not to say I still can't use it, but I think it's pretty poor quality to simply just snap right off the cap. I thought about tying a string to reattach the cap to the bottle, but the "nub" at the top that held the plastic strap was what broke off. Plus, I personally didn't care for the narrow-mouth, as I found out. I love the wide-mouth, because I can throw ice in there every-now-and-then.

I know people who have the larger size but I wanted something I could toss in my purse and it not weight much. I love the small opening. I take it everyday with me to work, running events, errands around town. I think I will order the large one for the husband though. Doesn't hurt to have too many around the house. I like that it's safe to drink out of too.

I use these bottles so much that I had to purchase more so that I had them available for more uses other than the gym. I keep them in the car (temperatures permitting) and take them with me for shopping trips and long car rides. The wide-mouth is not so wide that they are uncomfortable to drink from and the loop on the cap makes them easy to carry around. The measurements on the outside of the bottle are also great for mixing in flavored drink mixes.

Absolutely love these water bottles. After I received the first two I ordered, I ordered more because they were exactly what I was looking for. They are very sturdy, a good size for carrying in my purse with the 16 oz. size being more slender than the 32 oz. size, and the opening is slightly larger than a store bought water bottle which makes it easy to clean periodically with a bottle brush and yet still small enough to drink from without spilling. I love the screw top lid that is attached to the bottle. It ensures that it won't accidentally open in my purse and spill and the cap won't get lost when cleaning. I also like the screw top lid better because it protect the mouth of the bottle for cleaner drinking. Additionally, I like the fact that it is opaque enough to see through. The safe plastic is also lighter than the stainless steel bottles I've purchased in the past. So love this product! I've also bought the 32 oz size of the same bottle for use at home and to take to the kids sporting events. I've used the 32 oz. ones to freeze and then took to the soccer game. It handles freezing very well, although I did leave a little room in the bottle for expansion. The shipment came very quickly too. The only thing I would say is that I would love to see a 20 oz. size of this same style as well. I'd buy several!

These reusable bottles are wonderful. I bought 6 of them, always have them filled in the refrigerator for a grab and go water bottle. They are durable and dishwasher safe. I keep one at my bedside every night for when you get those "dry spots" in your throat. The plastic screw-on lid prevents any spillage when a bottle accidently gets dropped or tips over. I am considering purchasing the sippy cup for my 9 month-old grandson. I would highly recommend these bottles for purchase.

I started the nasty bottled water habit when I switched gyms and they didn't have a water cooler like my old gym - all they had was a water fountain which grosses me out. I didn't like reusable bottles because they didn't seem safe. I decided on the Nalgene bottle because of the non-leeching plastic and also because it's dishwasher-safe. I love that the cap is attached to the bottle - the loop makes a great handle. I don't like that the spout is so wide because it makes it difficult to drink while exercising, but on the other hand it makes it easier to fill with water (and it's wide enough for ice cubes).

I love the new non-leaching Nalgene bottles. They are extremely light. The attached over-cap is wonderful for keeping the spout clean and preventing any leaking. You can put them in the freezer and not have to worry about them cracking. Mine has bounced around and there are no dents or any problems at all. I am so glad they are a safe, light, non leaking, freezable alternative to other bottles.

I ordered 4 of the Nalgene HDPE 16 ounce reusable bottles for our family. The wanted to have the bottles in our cars for trips. I also wanted bottles that didn't leach any plastic chemicals into the water over time. The water in these bottles always tastes great, and we don't worry about any contamination just because the water may not be consumed for weeks at a time. The bottles are heavy duty, very well made, and will undoubtedly last us a long time. I just wish they shipped with an additional closure -- a pop-up sports top that could be activated with one hand. The screw-on closure is very strong and secure, but it takes two hands. Hey Nalgene, who not ship these bottles with two different closures, letting us decide which to use?

We love this bottle because it is relatively inexpensive and "clean." Stainless steel seems safer to me, but #2 plastic is a good back-up. We also like the size of the bottle itself (big enough to last several hours, but not so big as to be cumberbome when full, fits nicely into a day bag)and the opening (not so big that you spill all over yourself on a bumpy ride or walk).

This is a great bottle. I was looking for a safe replacement for our daily water bottles. This fits in my kids lunch boxes and my 10 yr old likes the opening... he didn't care for sport top version. Even though the opening is too small to fit certain size ice cubes, I like that is small enough to not splash when drinking. Realistic size is great for most uses.

The bottle is very well made with a great twist on lid that is attached with a plastic band. A very good product for the price. From an appearance point of view, the bottle looks very medical. The bottle does not have a lot of excitement to its appearances. Why not something in a vibrant lime green? However, saving 100's if not 1000's of disposable plastic bottles from landfills and the gas and pollution to ship them can't be beat!

I got the bottle for my brother in law as one of his christmas presents. I did, shortly thereafter, read and hear information regarding the naglene plastic as now not being safe. I am not certain of the facts of that just yet and I am looking into it. However, the product itself is great; he loved it and the price is great too. So my review is on the product as it is.

I was at first concerned because I'd recently heard worries about Nalgene bottles. However, these are NOT the ones that might contain Bisphenol A, since they aren't the ones with the recycle code "7", but are code "2". I'm pleased because I find the plastic bottles easier to carry and hold than the metal ones. I appreciate having a good source of reusable bags and bottles of all kinds. I'm slowly filling my kitchen cupboards with assorted bottles (I put in a whole-house water filter so it's easy to refill my bottles), and my car is full of shopping bagsos all sizes. Now if I could just remember to take them into the store with me!!

While the product is as advertised, I don't like the twist off cap. I thought I would get used to it, and even feel a little silly that I'm not adapting to it, but the convenience of simply pulling up a top and tapping it down has spoiled me. I use the bottle mostly during my exercise workout and the convenience is important.

We only drink the purest water in our house so it only made sense to seek out the best product for my children to have a container to take to school. This bottle is easy to fill and fits great in the side pocket of their backpacks. I tell everyone about them. The price is also very reasonable. Thanks

Nalgene bottles are far inferior to Kleen Kanteen stainless steel bottles. While marginally heavier, Kleen Kanteen bottles are much more durable, cleaner tasting and no worries about leaching. Despite what plastic advocates say, all plastic degrades over time, and this degradation may be more pronounced in high heat situations. Buy stainless steel.

Not impressed! I ordered 4 to keep filled in the fridge--to avoid buying water on to go! But these smell cheap and smell like plastic. I am not sure if the bottles are made with "safe' plastic. I will keep them for a while but I don't expect thme to be around for long. YUCK! BUY THE METAL SIGG!

I recieved my Nalgene bottles today and they are great! Just the right size to take on long walks or short hikes, light-weight and dishwasher safe. Everything I was looking for! I ordered the kids bottle for my 2 1/2 year old and he thought it was really cool. He can open and close the top himself.
