Materials Case is made from molded, recyclable high-density polyethylene for extreme durability. Pen barrels are made from recycled, recyclable aluminum. Pen tips are made from reinforced felt. Inks contain a combination of denatured alcohol and a vegetable organic compound.
Sustainability Just one refillable small refill bottle takes the place of 20 ordinary marker pens that would usually end up in a landfill, and the aluminum barrel will last far longer. Each durable pen is made sustainably and responsibly, using recyclable materials.
About AusPen AusPen started with a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company's founders heard a shocking statistic: in Australia alone teachers throw away 40,000,000 marker pens each year. That means that in the United States, some 400,000,000 marker pens are thrown out there each year.
That means around 2,500 tons of marker pens go to Australian landfill sites annually, and 25,000 tons go to US landfills.
Worse still, most of these contain a harmful chemical called Xylene. AusPen intends to solve that problem. For both the health of those who use markers and the earth at large, AusPen designed their line of economical, environmentally-responsible, high-quality whiteboard markers. They were determined to help minimize waste and to create a product that uses responsible manufacturing methods and recyclable materials to make safe, cost-effective and high-quality products. Their goal was to make a marker that was not just more environmentally-friendly but also superior in other ways including colorful options and safer materials.
Care Instructions Keep capped when not in use.
Avoid contact with cloth, as markers may stain.
While refilling is easy and not at all messy, use of a tissue or rag can prevent any potential staining.
Comments about Product:purchased these markers about a year and a half ago. Like others, unfortunately two arrived dried out and couldn't be revived. Ecosmartworld.com, the company that makes them, was amazing to deal with. They fixed the problem right away. I just ordered more markers and inks for the upcoming school year and other teachers and one of the teachers made a mistake in what they wanted. Again ecosmart world handled it so well and made sure we were satisfied. Thumbs up. Great work
Comments about Product:The one big downside to this product is that when it arrived a few of the marker lids were slightly off causing the markers to be dry. Fortunately I bought the refill kit with the product, but I was hoping not to have to bust it out until after I had used the pens for awhile.
The colors are vibrant and I love the reusability.
Comments about Product:I bought this set for my classroom in January of 2011 and they have held up amazingly. They are still in great shape. I teach in a Montessori classroom 1-3 grades and these pens are used everyday- A LOT by both teachers and students. Easy to refill and incredible construction. Not only are they durable and exactly as described, these pens are very economical. I have come back to buy two more sets. This is one of the best reusable products I have ever used. Buy this product you won't be disappointed. Thank you reuseit! Julie Danley, Birmingham Alabama
Comments about Product:I absolutely love this product. I am a science teacher and was very concerned with how many markers I would go through in a year. Then I found Auspen. They write well, don't leave the board a mess (my white board actually got cleaner as I used these pens) and I am no longer throwing out countless markers.
They are so good that others in my school have now bought their own. My set came with 2 markers dried out, but with an e-mail to the makers of Auspen, they were replaced free of charge. Not only are the markers great, but so is the customer service of Ecosmart World (the maker of Auspen).
Comments about Product:This pen set has been incredibly helpful for me. I was becoming extremely frustrated with the standard dry erase pens. I use the white board a lot, and the regular pens just did not last long and if I paused even a tiny bit without putting the lid back on, they would not write. Worst of all, for night classes, by the evening the board had been used a lot and even new pens would not work very well at all. These refillable pens work!! and they work well.. and they don't dry out. The refillable part is great, but even if they were not refillable, I would want them. They are fantastic.
Comments about Product:I bought a set of these markers for my classroom, so that we could cut down on our dry erase waste. The kids love them! They are easy to refill! And write well.
However, my hope that they could used and used and used was dashed when I realized that the tips of the pens are easy to mash in. I imagine that if adults were mostly using them, everything'd be just fine. But the kids are just a little too hard on them.
Comments about Product:I always disliked the smell of dry erase markers, these markers are outstanding in craftsmanship. There is no foul odor, the aluminum casing is durable and lightweight. Love the double sided tips if one side gets beat up just flip and you have a nice point all over again! great product, I ordered 2 sets as the kids enjoy long hours of drawing and writing!
Comments about Product:Granted, I just bought these, but the markers write like brand new ones--dark, crisp, bold lines. I love the idea of being able to refill them, so that my pens will always write like this. Writing with dull dry-erase pens is not as fun.
Comments about Product:I was excited to give these to my 11 year old for his birthday as he uses dry erase markers a lot and is always concerned about protecting the environment. I knew he'd love them, and he did-- until he saw that the latch for the case arrived broken & in pieces and 2 of the 6 markers were completely dried out. After days of filling, re-filling, turning the nibs around, etc., we finally got the one of the 2 dry pens to work. The case, however is not repairable. My son happily uses (5 of the) the markers now. They really are great, work well and have good, bright colors. Also we both feel good about not dumping used markers anymore. I just hoped and expected everything to arrive in working order and undamaged, especially something with such a high price tag.
