PackIt Personal Cooler's brilliant design combines the sustainable convenience of a reusable lunch bag with the long-lasting cooling of an ice pack. Simply put the bag in the freezer as you would an ice pack. When you're ready to make your lunch, just remove the bag and fill it up. PackIt's integrated Eco-Gel liner keeps contents cold for up to 10 hours - perfect for packing lunches in the morning and keeping food at a safe temperature until lunch. Also good for baby bottles, sporting activities, travel, medical uses and the outdoors. If you live in a hot climate, you can store cosmetics in a cold PackIt, so you won't have to worry about them melting in a hot car.
When empty, it folds up to a small, compact size, so it doesn't take up much space in the freezer or in your bag on the way home. The 2-in-1 design is especially convenient because you won't need to waste space inside the lunch bag by using a bulky icepack. Instead, there's more room for your reusable lunch containers and snack / sandwich bags!
Absolutely love this bag. Gone are the days of having to make sure we had a freezer block ready to be put in the lunch bag. Keeps the drink and sandwich cold from 6:30AM until lunch at 1PM. Well worth the cost.
This has so much room yet folds so small to throw into the freezer for my daughter's lunch the next day! She is in high school, and has had lunch table chats about this lunchbag, and your company as well!
I purchased 3 of these bags for 3 very different teenagers and they are a big hit with each one of them. The new lunch regulations left them all hungry thoughout the day, but with these bags they have healthier and safe luches!!!
The concept is great and I do use it but if you put anything of weight in it, then it just comes apart and open as you carry it. Velcro seam and how the flap is just makes it frustratingly come apart once you try to carry it. Even a water bottle full of water and then just another misc. item will defy the velcro's ability to maintain the closure as it is carried. I have to put items in it then put it in another bag to carry the whole thing just about every time I use it. Concept great but needs a design improvement.
I purchased this bag for my fiance who is in the police academy. He loves it. His food stays cold from the time he packs his lunch in the morning until the time he eats which is about 6hrs later. We have had a couple of heat waves recently and his lunch still stays cold even without the bag being in an air conditioned room.
I can't comment on durability, since I have only used these insulated lunch bags a few times. I do love that the walls of the bag are chilled. I purchased these for my daughters who are lifeguarding and needed to keep lunch cold outside in the heat. I still put cold packs inside the bag also for them. The bag is a fairly good size for lunch and a snack.
My complaints relate to the poor design of the closure and carrying strap. The bag folds over and velcro's shut. The way the velcro strips are oriented, the two sides of the velcro may not meet up properly, depending on how much you fill up the bag. I would prefer a zipper closure. Also the carrying strap is flat to the bag, so you can just get your hand in. You can't carry it over your shoulder or arm. In addition when you hold it by the strap, the velcro comes undone. The product would be much better with a zipper closure at the top and a longer strap.
This bag has a nice concept, but I'll echo what others are saying... The velcro is useless, so I feel like this bag was a waste of money. Even with careful use, the velcro lost its grip within a month or two. Velcro is the only thing holding the bag closed. So when you pick up the bag with the handle, it opens up, (and looks ridiculous when you're carrying it).
Since the walls of this bag are filled with the "ice pack material", this bag is heavy and bulky too... Just something else I hadn't considered. Not to mention the fact that I fell for this gimmicky concept when I only needed something to carry lunch to work where I can then put it in the refrigerator anyway. I loved the concept, but this was a very unfortunate purchase.
I bought two of these for my sons to use this school year and neither one lasted the entire year. The inside liner on one of them ripped within the first month. The velcro on the replacement lasted about 3 months. Now as we approach the end of the school year, the velcro is completely gone from both packs and the inside liner has ripped in both so that whatever kept the pack cold seeped out. They are both useless now. For the price, I would have expected much better quality! I'm going back to a regular lunch box with a cold pack put inside.
I am NOT happy with these products at all! I would have to say its pretty close to FALSE advertisement!!! My grandchildren and I saw your commercial several times and I thought..."WOW!" That is pretty cool. I won't have to keep remembering to put their ice packs back in the freezer, or have them "accidently" throw them out if they had a lunch bag like yours. I also thought it would be an awesome and invaluable tool to for my son to have for his newborn's bottles while they travel the 6 hours to my house every month. Boy was I mistaken!!!! I tried all 3 of them for my lunches over the past 2 weeks and not one of them held enough coolness for my yogurt or piece of fruit. In fact, the first day I took mine to school, I'm a teacher and I BRAGGED at my wonderful find...anyway, my yogurt exploded within 5 hours because the bag wasn't cool enough. So, I tested and timed each bag everyday, and I found they were only cold 4 hours...the same amount of coolness I get with my less expensive and funner for the kids lunch boxes and ice packs! So, I would like to return all 3 of them. $20.00 a bag without keeping its promise is a waste of my money! I am so disappointed and man so were my grandkids! They waited 3 weeks for them to come after we saw them on TV and I ordered them. Such disappointed faces on my 5 and 8 year old grandchildren when I told them they didn't work. I hate seeing that and hope to never see it again.
I had seen this on the infomercial on TV and thought it would be nice to have my lunch... not get warm through the long day. I went onine and ordered, excited since it states it will keep things cold for 10 hours. Today is the first day I have used this item and after six hours my yogurt and veggies are waaayyy to warm to eat safely. I will think twice before ordering anything else from this company.
I loved the design of this bag and not having to have a separate cool-pack. And how it collapses to fit in the freezer. However, the velcro closures that hold it when the bag is being used as a lunch bag didn't last. I think we got this when our son started preschool in September...by February the velcro was worn out. Perhaps the company should offer replacement velcro strips that are easy to replace (like modular, double velcro) so when the first strips wear out the whole bag doesn't become unusable. Because everything else works just fine.
You don't have to waste space for the ice pack. I actually wanted something smaller, for a snack, but this is a real lunch bag (fits several 2-cup round pyrex containers). Because of the ice packs and the location of the velcro it doesn't fold up much smaller than the 10 inches.
I loved the idea of this lunchbag--not having to put a freezer pack in it means one less thing to worry about. I love the way it folds up when empty. Does a great job keeping things cold. My issue with this item is that the velcro has become unusable. I don't even use this lunch box every day. I bought it in August and used it 2x a week for about 12 weeks before the velcro started deteriorating. I don't know if mine was just defective or what. If the closure worked, this would be a near-perfect lunch bag!
I love this bag. I've only used it a few times because, I'm bad with packing my lunch but it's fantastic. It keeps my lunch cool for hours and has enough room for a sandwich, several snacks, yogurt and more.
Collapsed, these are nice and compact to store in the freezer. I prepare my son's meals and store them in the refrigerator. When ready to go, I throw everything in the Pack-it and go. The handle makes it a nice stand-alone lunch bag -- no need for any other bag in addition to it. Stays nice and cool for a few hours. Love it! P.S. I purchased 3 so that I have alternates to use on days that I need to prepare more than one meal (but don't have enough time to refreeze the first bag).
Freeze it all night and it'll keep food cool til lunch time, but not much after that. It's well-designed and not too bulky in the freezer. The bag holds enough for a kid's lunch but once full is big enough to swamp a backpack...the velcro is placed on the bag so that it can't be sealed except at full size, even if you only put a couple of items inside. Your child will have to carry it separately.
These bags are great...I honestly don't know how i functioned before having my Packits :) I drive 40 miles to work everyday and it gets so expensive to eat out everyday. With my packit I can take my lunch from home and save tons of money while my lunch stays icy cold. I also always take a packit to the tennis courts with my water and a protein bar. My water stays cold while I'm playing and my bar doesn't melt or get wet like in a cooler. I love it! I can't wait to get the wine Packit too!
PackIt personal coolers are the the coolest invention ever! I use them for everything...kids lunches (my kids BEG to take them to school), cheese for our afternoon picnics, beverages when we are on the road, just about anything I need to keep cool all day! They fit so well into the the freezer and then fold out just like that and are ready to go. EVERYONE wants one wherever I go. I love my PackIt :)
For kids who play sports, these are great for snacks and meals throughout the day. My kids went to an all-day baseball camp, so we filled it with lunch and snacks. At the end of the day, anything left over was still cold, so we could put it back in the fridge and not throw it away.
I love my PackIt lunch bags! I use it to pack my kids' lunches - their lunches stay cold and the bag even comes home at the end of the day still chilled. When they are done, they just fold it back up and throw it in their backpacks - takes up less space than the lunch boxes they had last school year.
These are brilliant!! Unlike anything else! I am a nurse and take my lunch to work everyday and leave it in a locker. You freeze these bags overnight and pack them in the morning and they keep your lunch cold all day! I can finally pack healthy lunches and they stay fresh!! Love it...can't believe no one thought of this before...yea!
