Very sturdy and useful
I love my bags! They are very sturdy. I can pack twice as much in one of these as I can in a regular paper grocery sack. And no matter how heavy I've loaded it, the handles don't rip out or even strain. We've used these bags for so many things. Perfect for carrying odds and ends on camping trips and outings. They wash well too. Store flat and compact. I give four stars instead of five because after a couple years of use they do get softer and no longer stand up on their own empty, but as useful as they are, that's only a little bit of an annoyance. My oldest ones are in tan, which does show dirt after a while, but easier to see what's inside them not being as dark as the black when toting things on overnight outings. Great deal!

Not What They Used to Be
I recently bought these to replace the ones I had bought almost 5 years ago that bore the Acme label. (They really don't stand up very long but I'm determined to use reusable bags.) I expected them to be identical except for the label. I was shocked to find that that the fabric is no more than 2/3 the thickness of the earlier bags and the bags will not support as much weight, all at a markedly higher price than the Acme version. I will use these until they wear out but I'll be looking for something more like the sturdy bags I'm familiar with in the meantime.

Excellent product!
These bags are strong and will carry a lot of weight. The bags stand up while loading them and fold up when putting them away.

Great grocery bags
I've always liked the idea of reusable grocery bags but didn't like the oddly colored bags commonly offered. These bags look pretty much like paper grocery bags with just a bit of added style.
These reusable bags are large enough and strong enough to contain all items in two bags _comfortably_. And since the trip to the grocery store and back involves a lot of walking for me, it's a major relief no longer to worry about struggling with two or three of the plastic bags *in each hand* cutting off circulation to my fingers before I get home.

Worth every penny!

Originally I only bought a few of these bags due to the cost. I wanted to "try them out" before buying enough to replace the bags I bought at the grocery store where I shop (they were all falling apart after only about a year).
Well these bags were well worth the investment! I've ordered them a few times and now have about 12 or so of them. EVERY time I go to the grocery store the clerks always comment on how great my bags are and ask where I got them. They are so strong and easy to clean. I just throw them in the wash + hang them to dry. You can stuff them with heavy items (if you want to). My original ones still look new!

Wish the handles were longer
I purchased four of these without double-checking the handle
length. These are not long enough to carry over the
shoulder and I can't carry a full bag with my hands due to
arthritis. So I can't use them for groceries as I planned.
If you are thinking of buying these, get out the tape measure
and check carefully. Don't just go by the picture.

Love these bags.
Bought two sets of bags, one to keep in my car and one to keep in my husband's car. We love them.
They are very sturdy and stand up by themselves to make loading groceries easy. We will never grocery shop without them.

I used this tote as a book bag and it holds A LOT. My sister likes the roomy space and she takes one to work. So far, no tears or rips. I was surprised how much it can hold in a grocery shopping cart! I stuffed it until it poured out of the top. The only bad thing is that buying too much and stuffing it into this bag will take up funky spacing in the cart. For a family (3-4) that buys unnecessary products, this is not the bag for you. I would probably look at the Reisenthel bags that fit into the cart in a square, and it has hooks. Those seem more reasonable, but I haven't tried them. The handles hurt a bit because of their rough texture, and I do think they can be longer to fit over a shoulder. 4 stars because I've yet to run into any issues with the product.

Earth Tote all black
I ordered two earth totes a couple of yrs ago. I still use them often.
Pros: good material. good room in totes. easy to carry by hand
Cons: pulling/loosen threads. too short handle for shoulders

I loved these bags at first. Used them all the time. But they do have their weaknesses. I bought six and have two left. DO NOT over pack them. This is the quickest way to tear them up. I take public transportation so mine got really dirty. In spite of what they say in the adverts they are not easily cleaned. Not supposed to put them in the washer and dryer. SO I thoroughly hand wash them regularly, they tell you to wipe them off with a damp cloth. Perhaps that is another reason why they didn't last so long. They would be much better and last longer if the bottom had a thin coating of rubber like my other bags do. At this point I don't think I will be buying more.

weak seams

Good bags, BUT should be redesigned so main side goes down, across bottom and up IN ONE PIECE (no long seams). I have used four of these bags regularly and had to "Shoe-Goo" all of them along the main bottom seams. [I made this suggestion years ago but have seen no change - so my next order will wait until it does change!
