Great bags!

Unfortunately, this bags have been discontinued by Baggu (who I think has the best reusable bags on the market), but they are super. The fabric is a cloth mesh, which is large enough for cashiers to see produce numbers and tags without taking the produce out. The bags themselves are large and hold lots. Best of all, they fold down to a tiny size and have an elastic loop attached to keep them compact. I keep them in an extra Baggu bag pouch about 4 in square(holds 3 of them)which is super easy to tuck into my purse. They are so handy for the grocery store or farmers markets and I love that I no longer am contributing to the plastic bag trash! I totally recommend them -- just wish they hadn't been discontinued.

Love this!

My friend and I were going to the farmer's market so got this for us both. It worked great for bigger items like lettuce etc. Would definitely recommend this product and will be giving them as stocking stuffers.

by Yvonne T - 11/2010

I bought these bags a month ago and split the purchase with my sister. I live in the suburbs and she lives in the city. We quickly discovered how wonderful they were and we had to order more!!!

Love the idea, but the mesh is too big

I love the reusable produce bag thing, but prefer the flip and tumble ones. It may seem silly, but I'm not a fan of this one for two reasons. 1 - the color, I buy lots of green things and they blend into the bag and the cashier always has a hard time telling what's in there! 2 - My green beans and grapes always get stuck in the bigger mesh and it's kind of a pain to get them out. So, great idea, but prefer the white, smaller mesh. :)

Like it

I like that it's got big holes instead of small mesh. I have used it for all kinds of veggies and fruits, but I think mushrooms are my favorite use for this bag - they don't get slimy! Lettuce fits well in here but gets awfully wilty. I think the Flip & Tumble bags are overall a better value, but I like having this one in my collection.

This is a great bag. I have other produce bags that I use at home. Since it folds up nicely, I carry this one in my purse in case I decide to stop at a grocery store or produce stand last minute. It looks great and works great!

We haven't used these bags much yet because we are still going through the plastic produce bags we have, but I really like the looks of these bags and how they are replacing the plastic bags in our lives. Overall, great product.

Perfect Produce bag

I am so happy with these bags that I wish I had purchased more. There is an elastic so I can fold and compress the bag for easy storage in my bag. The Green Mesh makes it easy to see the contents. I would have liked them even better if the green mesh were made of recycled material but as they are, we are still be somewhat eco-friendly because we are avoiding plastic bags.

I buy lots of veggies for myself and my bunnies. These little bags are so great that I now have about 2 dozen and use them for everything in the produce dept! I don't have to feel guilty using the plastic produce bags because these are reusable, well-made, washable, see through for ease during checkout, have a handy little flap on top to close it up and the cool little band for refolding. I'm a neat nut so this feature is much appreciated.

just what I've been waiting for

These bags are perfect - I love that there are fold-over tops instead of annoying drawstrings. I love the green color that mutes any possible staining (that washes out anyway). I love that the contents are easily identified through the open mesh. I love that the PLU stickers can be read by the cashier for speedier check-out. I love that they are durable nylon and can be washed. I love that I can't find anything to complain about. A++++++

Have several

These hold a full head of lettuce or a whole celery. No more grocery store plastic bags for me. I transfer the produce to those green bags for storage in the refrigerator. The tiny mesh holes do snag the tips of my carrots when I place them in the bags but it is only a small annoyance.

Nice size

When eating out or doing a fast food run I use my own container and this bag holds my reusable containers. If its take out I place my order and hand them my containers from my bag and I don't have to worry about throw aways anymore. If I eat at a restaurant I simply put my own leftovers in my containers and bring them home in my BUILTNYbag. Love it.

Performance in the Fridge

by kim m - 02/2010

I love the idea of these produce bags, but can anyone tell me how the produce holds up in them when you store you veggies in the fridge? We juice a lot and tend to store a lot of greens for several days. Just wondered if this method would cause the greens to wilt. What is your experience with it?
