Bazura Large Tote / Grocery Bags are made in the Philippines by a women's cooperative, utilizing used juice containers. Please note: The interior pocket is made from PVC. These containers are purchased through a network of local school children. Indestructible and non-biodegradable by nature, foil juice packs clog landfills, fields and streets throughout the Philippines. Using clever designs that combine the material's strength & brilliant colors, the co-op helps keep the environment clean via this very cool method of recycling.
About Bazura Bags
Bazura Bags come from a women's co-op in the Philippines that set up a Livelihood Project assisted by the local village council. With almost no capital, the women found a very clever way to support themselves.
Every day, children from the local schools collect over 50,000 used drink containers, called doy packs, then sell them to the co-op. The bags are sanitized and the women sew them together into attractive, durable bags.
Unlike most third world factory workers toiling away in sweatshops, these women are entrepreneurs and shareholders. They work for themselves and have a positive impact on their community and, at the same time, they encourage environmentalism.

It's estimated that millions of juice containers get thrown in the trash everyday in the Philippines.

Great for toy storage!
We love these bags! I bought one maybe three years ago ( slightly different in style) and have used it ever since for my daughter's Legos. Their other toys have been stored in big baskets which were hard for them to move around the house for building and so forth. I just ordered 3 more and we have transferred wooden blocks into 2 of them. Super because it is easy for my 3 year old to drag the bag to where she wants to work with her toys. Plus they are bright and cute.

The colorful bags I received are just beautiful. I get comments from everyone at the market, and I find they make shopping lighthearted and fun. They are sturdy and easily washable. Thank you, and please keep them in you inventory. They make nice gifts.

Great Bag
This is the second Bazura Tote bag I've had. They're terrific and durable, great for going around the city with kids and throwing in a million and one things. Plus I always get a LOT of compliments on these bags. People actually stop me on the subway when I carry it. Highly recommended.

My Bazura Bag is awesome!
My Bazura Bag is awesome! I use it everytime I go shopping and I've gotten quite a few compliments. It handles a lot of stuff at one time and the appearence is really cool with all the colors. Plus, I feel good that in some way I'm helping the environment and and the makers of the bag. Loved the bag!!!

I have a Bazura Bag Large Tote Grocery Bag and never fail to get comments on it at the checkout counter. I have purchased several to give as gifts and they are always well received. Not only do you not have to use another store plastic bag, but it helps people in the Phillipines who make them as well. Beautiful, sturdy, and easily cleaned market bag.

Love these bags!
Love these bags! I purchased two large ones for the sole purpose of grocery shopping and was happy I took a chance. They are sturdy, which was important to me. I hate bags that are all loose and floppy when you are trying to pack and unpack them. They are also colorful, fun and are helping out women by buying them. You couldnt ask for more! I will be getting a small one and insulated one to add to my stock.

I love this bag
I love this bag. I use it everyday in my job as a schoolteacher. It is the rigt size and strong enough to carry textbooks,binders papers, my lunch etc. I get comments on it all the time and as an added bonus it encourages discussion with students about recycling and waste. Everyone should own one of these, they are just perfect.

Absolutely fabulous, and REALLY cute
Absolutely fabulous, and REALLY cute. Handles run all the way under and around the bag, making it super strong. A separate leakproof sleeve keeps my paperwork, phone and glasses (which I constantly toss in my bag at the last minute) from being trashed by the food and liquids. I am buying another one as a gift.

I bought a Bazura bag 6 months ago and loved it so
I bought a Bazura bag 6 months ago and loved it so I got one for my sister for a gift. It's attractive and sturdy, and its long handles let you fill it with heavy groceries and carry it on your shoulder. Supermarket checkout clerks and other customers go ga ga when they see it. I've had to write down the name of this web site for them at least a half dozen times.
