Bazura Bags
Bazura Bags come from a women's co-op in the Philippines formed by some entrepreneurial ladies who realized that they could transform would-be trash into treasure. With help from the local village council and almost no capital, these women found a very clever way to support themselves making bags from recycled juice containers.
Bazura Bags are handmade from non-biodegradable juice boxes that would normally be sent to landfills, significantly reducing the waste of an estimated 1 million juice containers thrown away each day in the Philippines. Each bag is durable, colorful and unique. Using a Bazura Bags shopping bag or lunch bag not only helps reduce waste, but it also supports the hard-working women who make them as they encourage environmentalism and create a positive impact on their community.
A fun play on words, the name Bazura Bags is derived from the Tagalog (Filipino) word for "trash"!
