BlueAvocado was founded in Austin, Texas by three women who wanted to offer a stylish, convenient alternative to disposable plastic bags. They are committed to empowering consumers to reduce their carbon footprints. As such, their colorful, fashion-inspired reusable shopping bags and lunch bags are made from a minimum of 50% recycled materials. Blue Avocado’s sustainable products cover a wide range of consumers’ needs, including insulated and ultracompact shopping bags, shopping bag kits, produce bags, lunch bags and more!

BlueAvocado’s eco-friendly commitment carries over to their business practices too. They collaborate closely with a manufacturer in China - the world's largest manufacturer of recycled products - to ensure that environmental, health, safety and labor requirements are met. 1% of the company's sales are donated to organizations such as kiva.org and Whole Planet Foundation. Blue Avocado also partners with Green Mountain Energy to verify their carbon footprint calculations, which can be found on the label of all their products.
