I thought this might be cheap and cheesy but it turned out to be really cute. It is plenty big enough for a sandwich, 100 calorie bag of something, an apple & a juice pouch or small water bottle. We found some re-usable sandwich bags that color coordinate right on this site! It just "looks" insulated, but we haven't had any leakage problems & have been using it for three weeks now. No zipper problems & the straps adjusted just right for my 7 yr old daughter. I was worried she might be too old for this, but she loves it & the other girls in her class have asked where they could get one so I guess it is fine for a 2nd grader. Hope this helps ;-)

Cute, but the placemat is too odd a shape for a young child, except in the tiger. The rabbit is especially minimal. It's fine for eating at a table or picnicking but it's awkward if you want to just grab a snack out of it on the go. Zipper isn't the smoothest. Wouldn't buy again.

I bought the bunny and the dog lunch bags
I bought the bunny and the dog lunch bags. My 1st grade son was so excited about his new puppy lunch bag - he wants to take it everywhere. The zippers are a bit tough but I just ran some pencil lead along them and that seemed to make it easier. These are a great size for little kids. My 2 year old appropriated the green bunny and it's the perfect size backpack for him. We'll use them when we go on picnics or anywhere we want to take our own snacks. I like that they open up so that the front lays flat for a placemat. Very easy to wipe out and clean up.

I ordered the dog lunch bag for my son and the design is even more fun in reality than the website conveys. The lunch bag is quite spacious for a small size and fits his lunch and a beaker inside. I was surprised to see that the bag had no padding and the inner/outer material combined are very thin, this makes it very light to carry but the drawback is it is also very porous and twice now I have had a waterfall of liquid spill from the bag. Having said this it was good value for money and as long as you don't need anything sturdy and waterproof then this is a fun bag to own.

This bag is adorable; however, I wouldn't recommend it for cold lunches. If you put a cold pack in the bag, it sweats. Not the most ideal thing for school lunches since it isn't lined. I like the idea of being able to fold the entire thing out though. Plus, there are straps on it so that your child can carry it around like a backpack. Good for snacks.... not for cold lunches!

The Munchler backpack is a huge hit with our 2.5 yr old. She loves the dog face and wearing the lunchbag to daycare like a big girl. The construction seems solid enough, and the bag is very lightweight.

I was just coming back to the site to buy the tiger again, but it's out of stock! I bought the tiger bag for my 18-month-old and, not only was he thrilled to have a backpack, but it's perfect for his lunches, and really easy to use. The zipper track does tend to get a little grimy, but it's holding up well.

We got this 1 year ago for my preschool son
We got this 1 year ago for my preschool son. We were pretty disappointed with it and ended up not using it. The first problem was that the zipper was sticky. It was challenging enough that my son was always the last one to get started on his lunch because a teacher had to help him open his lunch bag. He is capable of opening any other zippered bag. The other problem was that it doesn't keep food cool at all. They call it insulated because of the shiny lining but the bag is paper this so it doesn't do much. The last problem was the size. This bag is so small that it would sometimes not hold a fruit and sandwich (depending on the fruit). My 3 year old son had difficulty getting it onto his shoulders too because it was so narrow.

I live overseas and had been using a cheapo vinyl pouch to carry my kids' snacks in - yogurts, juice cups and crackers (they are 3 1/2 and 2 years old). When it finally fell apart, I found Reusable Bags on line and this little Munchlers backpack. I absolutely adore it - we just used it on multiple long car trips across Europe, and it is so convenient. Zips open and closed easily from multiple points, keeps everything cold (I started putting their two little water bottles in the freezer beforehand, which kept everything cold even longer), and we throw it in the larger carry all (diapers, change of clothes, stuffed animals) and it's easy to find in the mess. Bravo Built NY!!

The lunchbox is great!
The lunchbox is great! It really keeps the drinks and food cold. My little girl loved taking her lunch with her to school and the dog is totally cute. There is plenty of room for all kinds of food. It is perfect!

I bought this for my surrogate granddaughter to attend a summer art camp that had a creatures focus. She loved it and it kept her lunch cool. It was the envy of the other campers. We had a little difficultly with the zipper at first but that was not an ongoing issue. I am very please that we found this item on your site.

Very affordable, lightweight, able to be stored flat, these are great lunch bags. The tiger doesn't quite pass my six-year-old son's "cool meter" (it would be nice if they'd make a robot or spaceship shaped lunch bag, for example), but my daughter loves her bunny and they both like the fact that they can wear it as a backpack. Mom loves the fact that the bags hold way more than they look like they will and easily accommodate various container sizes. I bought these on sale, almost experimentally, but they have proven to be a great choice.
