Great product

by Andrea T - 05/2012

This straw works so well that I gave away the one I had to a friend and ordered myself another one. The second one I received was defective though - it was a little loose where the straw meets the filter, but Reuseit customer service is GREAT! They got back to me right away, and got a replacement sent directly from the manufacturer with a handwritten note in the package. I haven't used a single coffee filter since.

These filters work great for coffee and tea. I love them for travel. I can make organic coffee by the cup. They also make great gifts. I use them with a 12 oz. ceramic cup with a silicon lid. It makes a tight seal around the straw.

Reduce waste & a great cup of coffee!

by Kerry W - 08/2011

I absolutely love this invention! The simplicity of the design makes for a great way to brew, drink, and clean-up is a snap. I may sound like an advert, especially to all of my friends who now also own the coffee wand. Yes - I loved it so much that I bought several more and have been giving them as birthday presents or just any day presents.

I also just want to say how great it is to have a website like this! I just hope more and more people get used to the idea of no more one time use items - we must not be so selfish. Start thinking of the world we are leaving our children.

Not Just For Coffee!

by Melissa C - 03/2011

I purchased this item almost nine months ago because we drink a lot of home-made beverages but I have sensitive teeth. Until then we were buying plastic straws in bulk from a warehouse store which made me feel very guilty about the waste. I was nervous about using a glass straw, what if it breaks? But after nine months it's held up beautifully and works well in all drinks, hot and cold. I've never used it to brew coffee, I generally use a french press for that, but sometimes little pieces get past the filter in my pot so the straw helps me keep the grit out of my mouth. It's great for loose leaf tea as well. I use mine at home as a general use straw and keep a metal straw in my purse/lunch bag since the glass straw could get broken. I haven't had any trouble keeping it clean and actually run it through the dishwasher once a week. I'd definitely buy this product again!

Perfect for having your own coffee!

This is the perfect utensil for preparing your preferred coffee while on the go. I'm picky about what type of coffee I drink and go so far as to grind my own beans for that perfect brew. Big name brand coffees don't appeal to me either because of the flavor (bitter but not strong), the quality (who know when those beans were ground!), and the PRICE. This does make a very strong cup of coffee and, if left for too long, will become bitter. If you're the type that takes an hour to drink a cup of coffee, this may not be the best for you. Some helpful tips: Try to use filtered hot water when possible, use a medium or coarse grind instead of fine, and let it sit for at least 3-5 minutes or it may seem very weak to begin with. This also works amazingly well with loose leaf tea. I only wish it came with a straw cleaner (very difficult to fully clean the interior) and a more sturdy travel case (my husband cracked the packaging while rinsing it out, but some tape helps hold it together).

Advice for Debi

by Lexie S - 10/2010

I believe that the instructions are 2 tablespoons Tbsp. Try that, 2 tsp would make one very weak cup of coffee. I love my coffee strong, so I actually use closer to 3.

Works great

by Marilyn J - 08/2010

I could not imagine how this coffee straw could possibly work but it does - amazingly well. It is such a quick and easy way to fix a single cup of coffee. I keep mine at work since I'm always rushing off to a meeting and need to get my coffee quickly. The only negative is the grounds remaining in the bottom of the cup to clean out - much like with my coffee press that I use at home. Just be careful when sipping. The first time I used it, I burned my tongue.

Big Disappointment!

I followed the directions on the packaging and ended up with a foul cup of coffee. Added 2 Tbs. Folgers ground coffee to cup of steaming water-stirred-yuck! Did I just do it wrong?

Perfect for Java Lovers

by Lexie S - 07/2010

I love coffee, but hate using the coffee pot to make only one cup. The Java Wand allows me to make one serving of wonderful coffee or tea at a time, helping me to waste less and enjoy my drinks more. I will definitely buy additional wands for family members and friends who love coffee and tea.

Use it daily

Great for yerba mate! I think the only thing this straw is missing is a thin enough cleaning tool. Sometimes, standing coffee can leave stains inside the straw that are difficult to remove. I would purchase again.

Great Coffee for one

by Mary B - 05/2010

I saw this coffee filter straw and thought I'd give it a try. I used to make two cups of coffee every morning and waste one so I could have one. I now use my coffee filter straw, one scoop of coffee and get a really superb cup of coffee. I have another on the way for my daughter who has been settling for "instant" coffee, yuck!
