With sleek iPod-like design, Essential Gear's high-performance solar flashlight is a smart tool to avoid wasting batteries. Normal flashlights eat up batteries so quickly - accidentally leave it on and they're done. Smart design allows you to recharge two ways - place it in sunlight for 5 hours for a 30 minute charge or pull the Dynamo generator for 60 seconds for an 18 minute charge. It's 2-3x more efficient than typical pull-chord lights.

Why It Gets Our Seal of Approval

    • Rechargeable LED flashlight eliminates the need for disposable batteries and short-lived bulbs
    • Colorful, modern solar flashlight
    • Great-looking, outstanding performance
    • Provides bright light with 3 unbreakable LEDs that will last a lifetime
    • Utilizes an efficient, rechargeable lithium battery
    • Two easy ways to charge the battery: solar panel works with sunlight, or use the pull-string to manually re-charge
    • Perfect for kids, camping, or an emergency kit

Care Instructions
When charging with the dynamo, avoid pulling the ring in a hard or sudden fashion. Do not pull the dynamo’s cord past 30”. An interval of eight to 10 minutes is recommended between charges to prevent overheating. This shouldn’t be a problem, considering a charge lasts about 18 minutes.

I like the weight. Not flimsy. Light is bright as advertised. I've been looking for something like this for my earthquake preparedness kit since I'm in southern California. This is great. It's also worked well for camping. I hope it lasts for a lifetime.

Eco-charge Solar Pull Flashlight

I've wanted a flashlight for my car that didn't succumb to battery corrosion, and thus not be in service when needed. I've seen the crank models, but this solar model is best. I used Velcro to secure it to my dash, thus exposing it to plenty of light. It has been ready to use when needed. The light output is significant as well, not just a dim glow. I've not used the pull string charge feature, so I can't comment on that, but the solar feature was what I needed for my car.

Seems to work fine and feels solid in the hand so I don't think it will break easily. Still made in China unfortunately.
