ExtraLife works naturally by neutralizing excess ethylene gas that builds up in the crisper bin as produce ripens. The active ingredient in Extra Life is natural zeolite and potassium permanganate, ingredients that commercial produce and florist suppliers have used for years. How Does It Work?
Ethylene gas is nature's ripening agent. As fruits and vegetables ripen in their natural environment, the ethylene is released into the surrounding air. However, when ethylene is released inside the refrigerator, it gets trapped and builds up causing produce to ripen much faster than it would in nature.
ExtraLife was invented to alleviate this problem. Its active ingredients are completely safe and natural and has been scientifically proven by an idependent laboratory to neutralize up to 97% of the ethylene gas in a confined space and slow ripening, which helps produce stay fresh longer and retain vitamin potency.

Produce Savers
The produce savers work, but I don't feel they extend the life of my produce that much. It's easier to just remember to eat up all produce within a week.

Seems to be working
I got these because while the Debbie Meyer Green Bags work, they are a complete hassle to have to clean and you never know when they will STOP working until they ruin your produce. They seem to be doing a great job; I use them in conjunction with recyclable produce bags. My produce is definitely lasting longer.

Extra life Produce Saver Disks
Just placed my 2nd order for the disks. They are great and really do prolong the freshness of the produce. I was very skeptical, but they work. I get a week of two longer depending on the item with the disks in the crispers and meat drawers. Try it , you'll like it!

Product Saver Really Saves
I bought one package of two -- one for each refrigerator produce drawer -- to try out this product. I'm happy to say that it really works! I'm so pleased that I just bought a year's supply of them to keep on hand. I find that fresh fruits and veggies last a lot longer now; this is a money saver for single and infrequent shoppers like me. I don't know if other Product Saver users do this, but I also put most items in mesh bags to allow gasses to escape inside the drawers. I think this practice helps the discs to their job even more efficiently.

This is a great product! My fresh produce is lasting longer, much longer. I tested the product out with a tomato. Two weeks later, the tomato still looks pretty good. This product is helping me save money. I definitely recommend it!

I discovered these amazing little items in the com
I discovered these amazing little items in the commissary. I was skeptical when I read the packaging, but decided that as much produce as we go through -- and lose because it goes bad so fast -- it was worth a try. Long story short, I can't live without them now. And naturally, the commissary stopped carrying them! At least I've been able to find them online, and I give these little miracles the highest review possible. I tell everyone about them.

I had been using the ExtraLife produce bags and really liked them but the disks seemed like an easier way to use this product. No more bag rinsing and drying. Now I just pop the disk into the drawer with the same results.....fresher produce for a longer time.

DUDE! This product is no joke! It really does help to preserve my produce longer. I've been using this for about three years now and didn't realize just how well it works until I got too busy to order new ones and had my old ones "expire" past the three months period. Of course, I quickly ordered more when I started to notice my soft leaf veggies (i.e. basil) were wilting sooner than "usual." Side Note: I love how the disks are small and flat. A must-buy!

I have used ExtraLife disks for years and can't do without them. They really do retard fruit and vegetable spoilage very well and last the three months as advertised. For anyone who can't use up fresh produce fast enough to always avoid having to throw out some dying lettuce, etc., these disks are the answer.
