These bags are not cheap, and that's a good thing, because they are a great value for the higher cost! They don't look that big, but I always find I manage to get the groceries in about a quarter of the number of bags I thought it would take. They are very attractive, but also very sturdy--I've had other cloth bags that have ripped or torn but that's never happening with these toughies. Grocery checkers always compliment me on how nice they are, and it's wonderful to not carry around a rainbow of mismatched shapes and sizes. Honestly, I was a little concerned about making this purchase because of the cost, but it's been rewarded many times over.

These are terrific bags -- attractive, sturdy, and exceptionally spacious. Numerous checkout attendants have remarked that it's the nicest bag they've seen. Two possible issues to bear in mind: (1) Those who are short in stature may have difficulty holding the bag with their arms fully extended because it may scrape on the ground. (2) The bag is pretty heavy. Neither of these considerations is a concern for me, but both bother my wife, who prefers other, smaller bags.

I've used these bags for grocery shopping on a weekly basis now for some time. Construction of the bags is terrific - very sturdy, holds a TON of canned goods and so forth - sometimes almost more than I can comfortably carry. The only downside that I've found so far is that the checkers at the local supermarket aren't thrilled with these. The main reason is that they are very "floppy" and don't stand up easily to be filled with items. The store sells their own recycled plastic reusables that are very stiff and stand up straight in front of the checker's position. They don't say anything to me, but it does tend to slow the checkout process down quite a bit. Now, that said, I think they'll get use to the change as more and more customers start bringing their own bags. It's a training thing. Bottom line is that these bags are very tough and easy to handle and I like them very much.

I absolutely love these bags! They are very strong and hold a ton of groceries. I bought four and that's all I need to hold a weeks worth of groceries. Reusablebags.com is a refreshing company - reliable and great service!

Great Great Great bags I have the heavy duty hemp bags and I really like the construction and every onwe that sees them comments about how great they look... When they see how much weight that they hold they are even more impressed... I feel good that in some small way I am helping cut down on waste... I find the bags very useful. They are a natural color and store neatly inside one another. They work great at most stores, but the baggers at my local grocery store complain that they don't stand open on their own and they make it more difficult to pack the groceries. I like them because they can hold lots of heavy items. For the price, however, next time I'd buy something less expensive that's more apt to please the baggers.

the bag was a different shade, that might be b/c it's' from a different batch...........the other thing is that when you order the long handled bag, at least the one i got, the handles wrap around the entire bag and are black. the other shopping bags i ordered w/ the short handles did not have black handles. small details, but if they are that different your website should show pictures for the different bags.

I've purchased several of the Heavy Duty Classic Hemp Shopping Bags and absolutely love them! I didn't read the description very closely when I placed my first order, so I was pleasantly surprised to find both a roomy outside pocket and a key holder. The straps are nice and wide, so it's easy to carry. I liked them so much that I ordered more of these bags and gave them to my parents and sister as reusable "gift bags" for their Christmas presents!

I haven't had them long, but the fabric and the construction look to be excellent. The brown color is unexpectedly rich and lovely. I was not expecting the fabric to be as soft and flubby as it is--way more supple than, say, canvas. It can be a challenge when loading and unloading, as it is more like packing groceries into a sweatshirt than into a paper grocery sack. It would be nice if there were stays in the seams to help keep it open and upright. That's my only suggestion for how to improve it, though. I am happy with the quality of the materials and construction, and looking forward to reducing the number of disposable bags that I use. Thanks!
