Design & Functionality
Kids Konserve® Waste-Free Lunch Kits were designed to eliminate disposable lunch items, in a single kit that could be re-used daily—lunch after lunch. A sustainable alternative to the millions of disposable and single-serving plastic baggies used each day. With this kit you’re a part of the solution—and teaching kids at early age not to throw away without thinking.

The kits are stylish, easy to clean and safe. Each kit contains:

  • Food Kozy (Folded: 4.5” x 4.5” Open: 13”x13”): Simply fold around sandwiches, veggie sticks, cookies and other foods, and secure with the Velcro closure. Doubles as a placemat.
  • 2 Stainless Steel Food Containers, with Plastic Snap-On Lids (2” H x 4” W): Great for dry snacks, yogurt, apple sauce, pudding and a variety of other foods.
  • Stainless Steel Beverage Bottle (16 oz): Stainless steel reusable bottle; great for water or juice.
  • Organic Cotton Napkin (15" x 15"): Pre-shrunk organic cotton napkin.
  • Recycled Cotton Lunch Bag (9.5” H x 6.75” W x 5.75” gusset): Designed to hold all lunch kit items. Includes a recycled aluminum nametag.

Materials
All materials in the Waste-Free Lunch Kit are safe and sustainable. The Food Kozy is made of FDA approved, non-toxic, non-leaching, recyclable polyethylene plastic. Stainless steel containers are made of safe, food-grade 304 stainless steel, with lids made of safe LDPE plastic. The napkin is 100% cotton and the lunch bag is 100% recycled cotton, with a recycled aluminum nametag.

Sustainability
A recyclable, reusable alternative to brown-bag lunches. Each lunch kit replaces thousands of disposable plastic baggies, plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Also eliminates wasteful consumption of paper napkins, juice boxes, milk cartons and single-serving foods. Enables you to save money by buying in bulk and prepare healthy, cost-effective lunches. Bonus: You’ll be teaching your kids about conservation!

NIce product, my kids are very satisfied

by Kaara S - 02/2010

A nice looking lunch combo...well worth the money. The bowls are stainless steel, and the tight fitting lids are perfect for liquid items I wouldn't normally trust in a plastic to go container. Unfortunately, when inspecting the sandwich wrapper the Velcro closure started to separate from the wrapper. I don't expect to get too many uses from these, but a great idea that I hope can be improved on. It would be nice if utensils were included, then the kit would be truly complete. All in all a good product, could be even better with a few tweaks.

We bought 2 of these set and while spendy, we think it was worth the money. The bowls are stainless steel and not made of cheaper material as indicated in some of the other reviews. The lids do fit tight but we like that to prevent leaks. The only complaint we have is the wraps are not as well made as we had hoped. We bought a set of the wrap n mat at the same time and those are much better. My kids love the idea of helping the environment with reusable products.

Overall, I think the product is a great concept

by Evie B - 09/2009

Overall, I think the product is a great concept. Including shipping, we paid $87 for 2 lunch kits and my kids were beyond excited to take them to school. However, the very first time I used the sandwich holder, the pieces fell apart, so that was a bit disappointing (one fell apart almost effortlessly, however the other one is hanging in there---maybe we got a dud?). Also, we have found the lids for the stainless steel water bottles are difficult to tighten, so my elementary aged kids have gotten frustrated not being able to use their water bottles properly. Overall, I think it's a good concept, but overpriced given things breaking on the first use. :(

This just ended up being an okay product for us

by Jessica C - 08/2009

This just ended up being an okay product for us. First of all, the cost is awfully high, but something I was willing to pay for the addition of the 2 stainless steel containers that come with it. But the containers AREN'T stainless steel...they're shiny and cheap looking and sure enough magnetic. I'd stick with purchasing your own little bag and a couple of high quality dishes. Also be aware that the bag gets heavy pretty quick after filling up the water bottle. So we just fill it half way.

Wonderful kit! Everything in there is high quality. My son loves it. His teachers were asking where I got it, because they want one! Highly recommended.

by Heather S - 06/2009

I purchased four lunch kits and for the amount charged ($38) it was not worth the price. We used the lunch kits for less than a week (school\'s out). The sandwich wraps have very lousy velcro - 3 of four are ripped already. The lunch bags themselves are not made very durable either - one of 3 ripped on the first day and a second on the third day of use. The stainless steel containers are great - the only item I would recommend but hardly worth the pricetag.

These bags are great. All 3 of my kids use them. My little 3 year old takes his to preschool and it has taught him how to drink our of a cup. Say good by to sippy cups. They also help with portion size. My kids are learning the right amount of food to eat and not stuff down bags and bags of chips. Love them!

Loved the idea but the product didn't last. The stainless steel containers all rusted and the bag got holes in it after one washing. I hope this set can be perfected because it is a great idea.

This bag is too small and the lids are hard to remove. I cannot use the bag or the bowls with lids. Only the water bottle and sandwich wrap.

I just received my Kids Konserve Lunch Kit and am thrilled! I love everything. I will be ordering more of the stainless steel containers to replace my plastic ones! The food kozy is so versatile, wrapping sandwiches, cheeses, and muffins. Thank you!

I LOVE this lunch set for my preschooler

by rhea b - 01/2009

I LOVE this lunch set for my preschooler. We are teaching our son about reusable/recycling products, and this lunch set is the perfect thing for him to take to preschool. The container sizes are just right as well as he can open them himself (his teacher appreciates this as well). The sandwich wrap/placemat provides a clean eating surface. My only dislike is the water bottle is way too big and he can not open it himself. We traded it out for his smaller one with a sport lid and he's good to go. I use the bottle for myself and all gets used! I wish the components were available for purchase separately as I'd love to purchase more of just the containers.
