Klean Kanteen Café Cap, Wide

Initially, we got these lids to go with our 1/2 gallon Klean Kanteens for soccer. The kids needed an easier way to drinks quickly. However, if the jug falls over, they lose all their water. It accomplished the convenience, but wish there was a better solution to the leakage from the cap.

My favorite thing about this lid is that it comes apart easily to wash by hand. I use it all the time when I'm in the car, usually just with water, since I always manage to go over a bump and spill my drink on myself if I try to drink out of the open bottle.

I bought this to go with the insulated bottle. It is very easy to use one-handed and very easy to clean thoroughly. I am very happy with this product.

We bought this cap to go with the Insulated Kleen Kanteen water bottle. I was in search of coffee mug that had minimal plastic and when I found the Kleen Kanteen... it seemed like the perfect fit for what we were looking for. AND it is the perfect fit!!! The cap works great... no leaks... no spills!! I like that we can take a normal water bottle and turn it into a coffee/tea mug... very convenient on a day to day basis but also while traveling! (Normally we pack water bottles and coffee mugs when we travel, but now all we have to do is pack the Kleen Kanteen water bottles and this cap!!) My husband uses this Café Cap for his coffee, but when he's done with the coffee he cleans the cap (and water bottle) and fills it with water for the rest of the day:)

Perfect top for hot drinks. I've been loving it for cold beverages, too. Easy to operate and perfect to give my preschooler a quick sip of my water without getting a faceful.

This item is nice looking and streamlined but not worth the aggravation. The first day I used it, the bottle leaked all over my bag and papers. I would not buy it again. It was a waste of my money.

Really like the cafe cap. It makes drinking hot beverages much easier than the twist off cap. We haven't had any trouble with the lid leaking but have been pretty careful to be sure that the cup is always standing upright.

This insulated-bottle-to-mouth adapter is a good companion to the awesomeness of my Klean Kanteen 16-oz insulated wide-mouth bottle. It's comfortable to drink from, screws on well, and comes apart for easy cleaning; even has an easily-replaceable O-ring. However, it does not seal completely ... if you twist the lid closed, then turn your bottle upside down or shake it, the contents will come out, just not as fast as if you had twisted the lid open. This is likely by design. I still give it a 4/5 stars, as it's better and easier to clean than competing designs, and it's all polypropylene (6 PP), the safest plastic for hot liquids. If you want a complete seal, use the regular wide-mouth cap.

This works, I like it, I like that it's an option. However it's not spill proof and the mess you make if you tip your cup over is only minimally less than if the cup were open. I don't prefer to drink out of a slotted lid, so it doesn't have that appeal to me. I bought it so i could sip coffee while keeping it mostly covered and hot, but I got another thermos for my coffee for my birthday, and I haven't used this since :( It is a good deal and a good add-on though, if it's just at your desk and you don't have little kids climbing all over you like I do. It is well made and appears easy enough to clean, so I gave it 5 stars. Just think about whether you'd really use it if you knew it's not leak proof! If you are just drinking coffee at your desk at work, then it's perfect.

I bought the cafe lid to go with my 12 oz. insulated Klean Kanteen bottle (which is fantastic, by the way, for coffee, soup, etc.). When I use the bottle for coffee/tea, this lid is great! It does say it is not leakproof, but as long as it is on tight (not necessarily cranked tightly, just closed tight enough), and you tip it up to your mouth in the right place (i.e., at the spot where the lid has a little higher lip), I have never had a spill or leak while drinking. If the bottle tips over completely, yes, the lid will leak, but they do acknowledge this. Also, if the lid is not on tight, and you tip your bottle up to drink (or if it falls), sometimes a little liquid will get caught between lid and bottle at the neck, and even if you tighten the lid without wiping this up, you will get a little spillage. However, as I noted above, if the lid is on tight from the get-go (and I'm a small woman, so I'm not talking body-builder tight), it will not leak from the neck while drinking. I really like it, including the raised lip near the drinking opening. In fact, I'm buying more to go with more insulated Klean Kanteens!

Along with the two 20 oz. bottles, I bought two cafe' caps. I keep the regular cap that came with the bottles on one bottle, and a cafe' cap on the other. While riding, I twist the cap open while the bottle is still in the water bottle holder(one piece S.S. by BBB - www.bbbparts.com), remove the bottle, drink, replace, twist cap closed. While the cap is not leak proof, it works very well in this application. I wish that the lip on the cap where the opening is was shorter so that I could have the opening covered completely with my mouth to prevent dripping, otherwise a very good product that makes using the bottle much easier when only one hand is free. Oh well, I will get out the Dremel, cut it down, smooth it out, and it should be fine!!

Although the Klean Kanteen lid is not spill proof, I'm still happy with it (especially since they tell you it is NOT spillproof). It makes it much easier to drink my hot tea from my insulated thermos and the two parts of the lid come apart (and go back together) very easily, making it a snap to clean. I carry both lids with me, and if I think the thermos could be knocked over (or is in my bag) I simply switch lids, which keeps my liquids cleaner and hotter/cooler longer anyways.
