Design & functionality
Klean Kanteen is a reusable, risk-free stainless steel container that does not leach toxins into its contents. Reusable, lightweight & durable. The wide-mouth accommodates ice cubes and makes cleaning easy. Sports cap and size make this bottle ideal for sports and other activities.
Materials
Made from electropolished, non-leaching, high grade 304 L.N. (18/8) stainless steel. Klean Kanteen’s 304 L.N. stainless steel is grade blended specifically for food preparation, dairy, brewing, various medical uses and other applications where mineral migration is unacceptable. The steel is put through a electropolishing process which seals the surface and prevents minerals from migrating into the contents. These reusable, risk-free stainless steel containers do not impart taste and do not leach toxins into their contents. Plastics (polycarbonate) have been shown to leach carcinogens including BPA during regular use, exposure to heat and especially after cleaning. From manufacturing, to use and disposal, plastics pollute our health and environment.
Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found on earth: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. Properties of the final alloy are tailored by varying amounts of these elements. There are more than 57 stainless steels recognized as standard alloys on the market. Klean Kanteens are constructed from high quality sanitary grade 304 stainless steel which has a low nickel content. Stainless steel has excellent resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content making it a material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewery industries. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, inert and sanitary.
Sustainability
100% recyclable. Using Klean Kanteen bottles helps replace wasteful, use-and-toss single serving plastic beverage containers, while saving you money in the process. Reusing durable Klean Kanteen bottles ultimately helps you consume less over time. Furthermore, 304 (or 18/8) stainless steel is a sustainable material, having a long service life, usability in a number of applications and is environmentally friendly. Stainless steel needs less maintenance and its hygienic qualities means that we do not have to use harsh cleaners to get a clean surface. There is little or nothing to dump into the drain that could have an environmental impact.

About Klean Kanteen
Klean Kanteen, a family-owned company in Chico, CA, was the first to create a stainless steel beverage container to curb the use of the one-time use water bottle and in response to credible reports about chemicals in common plastic drinking and food containers. Since 2004, Klean Kanteen has been informing the public about the health and environmental hazards of eating and drinking from plastic containers at consumer and trade shows such as Green Festivals, Outdoor Retailer Market, Natural Products Expo West and East, Interbike Expo, Whole Children Whole Planet and many others.
Klean Kanteen visits their manufacturing facilities 4-5 times per year and perform audits every six months to ensure all of our products are produced with respect for the environment and fair labor standards, including: the ethical treatment of factory workers, child labor, wages/benefits, health and safety, etc. Additionally, they do regular lab testing on random shipments through a local lab in the U.S. to ensure their products are made per their specifications, are free of hazardous substances such as lead, and do not leach chromium, manganese, etc.
Care Instructions
Klean Kanteens are easy to clean with a bottle brush and mild soap. We recommend an old fashioned cleaner: white vinegar and baking soda. Stainless steel does not rust. If your bottle appears to have rusted, it is a harmless residue left behind from the electro-polishing process. Electro charges remove fine particles from the stainless steel surface, remove impurities and seal it. Electrolytes left behind sometimes turn a rust color, but it's harmless.
In Love
I am totally and utterly in love with my klean kanteen bottle. Really it is the best water bottle I have purchased in years. I've been through at least 3 others that I thought would be winners but they weren't this water bottle is tops. besides coming in really cute colors, there is no after taste, the sports cap is pretty AMAZING and its just all around awesome. Also, I like knowing that with each fill up I am getting a little more than 3 glasses of water. so to make sure I get my daily 8 glasses (usually more than that) I just have to fill it at least 3 times. :) I did drop it once and it chipped the paint (on the very first day I had it) and it dented a tiny bit but that is bound to happen with wear and tear. I am still in love with it though!

Klean Kanteen
Great item!! Perfect for the gym and the mouth of the bottle is large enough to get the average size ice cube in. Love the color...bright pink. It's great knowing that I'm doing my part in helping the planet by using this bottle instead of buying bottled water. If everyone did this just imagined what we could accomplish!!

I take my Kleen Kanteen with me everywhere, it's great! It's always tucked inside it's "Built" sleeve of course! I recommend buying both together!

Klean Kanteen 27 oz Colorful Stainless
I love these bottles. The 27oz ones are just the right size - they fit in the cupholders in my car and they hold just the right amount of water. Plus the colors are terrific. I got the "Active Pink" - a beautiful fuschia, just like shown in the pictures. These are more than durable and water stays cold longer and there's no unwanted chemicals/tastes that leech into the water (I only use filtered water - I can't tolerate the taste of metals and chemicals in my water!). Oh, and these were shipped promptly, too. Yay!

The best water bottles on the market

After using Klean Kanteen, I won't use anything else. They are the best bottle around. The corners are all rounded so no bacteria can grow in areas you can't reach and the stainless steel holds up well to a lot of abuse. I also like the fact that they are made responsibly, you can't always say that about the bottles found in the big box stores. I own several KK & came back to purchase more during the Earth Day sale to use as gifts. FYI to the guy who said 2 of his had bulges out the bottom...that generally happens if you freeze liquid in the bottle (which you aren't supposed to do). There are videos on youtube showing how to pop the bulge back in so the bottle will stand up right again.

I love this for multiple reasons. First, I have small cup holders because I have an older car and it fits perfectly. Second, I left it in my car all day, it was really hot in my car, and the water stayed cool enough to drink. It wasn't cold but cool enough. Third, the mouth is wide enough for ice. Fourth and finally, it was on sale and is very cute. I love this water bottle.

Not as durable as I thought
After hearing so much about Klean Kanteen, I bought 3 x 27oz bottles for my wife and 2 boys to take to school. Now, my boys are a bit rough on things but the Camelbak BPA bottles had lasted the distance so I thought stainless steel would definitely be tougher. Unfortunately, both bottles that my boys use now have a bulge on the bottom and no longer stand up properly. I'm a bit puzzled as to why this would happen. My wife's bottle is still ok but she treats it with care. Aside from that we've been pretty happy with the bottles.

So far okay...
This is a new bottle and I like how compact it is but the water does have an aluminum taste when I drink out of the bottle. I am hoping that this is just part of the adjustment process.

Makes me Want to Drink My Water
I hate the feel of plastic water bottles and the fact that they get dumped. Not so anymore as I am using my stainless bottle for water. Tastes better than plastic for sure!! Makes it fun to drink more water.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bottle... It fits in my cup holder perfectly in the car and keeps my water tasting exactly as it should... The 27oz is the perfect size because it is not too big and bulky. Definately recommend this bottle...

Love this bottle!
This bottle is great. I especially like the wide mouth (as compared to the Sigg), makes putting in lime/lemon slices doable. Stays cold for hours.
