    Design & Functionality
LunchBots are eco-friendly, stainless steel containers for your sandwich, wrap or other favorite snacks and side dishes. Made from food-grade Type 304 stainless steel, your LunchBots won't stain, rust or leach harmful chemicals into your food (which is why they're such a great alternative to cheap plastic containers). The bottom of the boxes are uncoated stainless steel, and the top of the colorful lids are powder coated - no VOCs emitted. Your food only comes in contact with stainless steel. They're sleek & sturdy, so your food won't get crushed, and a set of two fits perfectly in ACME's "6-Pack" lunch bag with room to spare. Also available in large Eco and small Pico designs.

With snack-sized partitions, LunchBots Duos make it easy to buy fruit and snacks in bulk, which helps you save money over time. For more information, check out our article on waste-free lunches. Note that while LunchBots' lids fit tightly to hold in food, they're not water-tight & are best for solid foods. For liquid items like salad dressing, we recommend packing a Nalgene 2 oz. jar.

    Materials
LunchBots are made from high-quality, food-grade Type 304 stainless steel. It resists stain and rust due to its chromium content, making it a favored material in food processing, dairy and brewing. It's also one of the safest materials for food storage and handling, because it's easy to clean, durable and sanitary. LunchBots have been tested and certified by Metallurgical Laboratories Type 300-series stainless steel and are lead free. View the lab results.

Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found in earth: iron ore, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen and manganese. Properties of the final alloy are tailored by varying amounts of these elements. There are more than 57 stainless steels recognized as standard alloys on the market. High-quality, sanitary-grade 304 stainless steel has low nickel content. It has excellent resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content, making it a material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewery industries. It's easy to clean, durable, inert and sanitary.

    Sustainability
LunchBots eliminate the need for use-and-toss plastic baggies, wraps and aluminum foil, saving money and natural resources over time. Since stainless steel containers do not leach harmful chemicals like certain plastics do, they are a healthy, eco-friendly lunch-time alternative.

    About Lunch Bots
LunchBots was born from its founder's belief in stainless steel as a healthier alternative to plastic - for our bodies and the planet. LunchBots' mission is to create safe, fun and usable food containers that are free from the toxins associated with some plastics. The company uses only lead-free, non-VOC and BPA-free materials manufactured responsibly in China by a company that has applied for ISO 9000 certification.

    Care Instructions
Top-rack dishwasher safe. As with any other stainless steel product, we recommend hand-washing with mild detergent.

Stainless steel does not rust. If your container appears to have rusted, it is a harmless residue left behind from the electro-polishing process. (Electro charges remove fine particles from the stainless steel surface, remove impurities and seal it. Harmless electrolytes are left behind and may turn a rust color).

    Country of Origin
    Manufactured responsibly in China

The first day I took these to work, one of my coworkers said, "that looks like what my parents used when they were kids." It seems funny to me that as we get more advanced, some of the best things are ideas from the past! I love these! I bought two sizes to fit with my typical lunch. They can't be reheated in the MW, but I just put things on my reusable plate for that. Great for salads, but the lids are not completely watertight. I have spilled a bit of things in my cotton lunch bag, so might add a rubber band over the lid in the future. That's a small sacrifice to stay away from plastic though! There is no taste on the food, and they look great and hold a good amount of food. I would give them a 5 star rating aside from the leaking issue.

    Great Containers!

    by Vanessa C - 07/2010

The lid is also stainless steel, which I couldn't tell from the photo. That makes them a little less sealable, but it's good to have no plastic content at all. These work great for my kids' lunches.

I love my Uno & Duo stainless steel containers. I wish I had known about them sooner. I received the products quickly after I purchased them and have been enjoying them since. Thank you!

Works great, looks good, good quality

    by Joachim R - 07/2010

Got this for hiking and lunches. I prefer the metal option much over the plastic boxes that seem to be standard here, and this solution won't disappoint you. Does what it promises, and does so well. It's well crafted. The lid closes well. The separation also works well, but you shouldn't use it with liquids.

    Product leaked on first day

I was excited to spend a lot for this item thinking of longevity - i placed cut bananas, melon and peaches in it and then off to work in nyc - thin and narrow and placed in my nice messenger bag, after commuting on the subway 30 minutes, i took it out of my bag to place in the fridge only to find that it leaked all over my files - lid was on snug and tight, liquid went around the lid and dripped all over my stuff - sooooo it appears it must travel flat to be effective. glad i spent $$$ - one may want to consider plastic lunch boxes from a drugstore. :(

    Love it!

    by Corrine G - 06/2010

We use them every day. My daughter is the "allergy kid" and takes her own food with her everywhere we go. These look great, even after a year of washing. Lids stay on well, but are easy for a four year old girl with small hands to open and close by herself. Perfect for items we don't want crushed, like fresh berries. The largest size is for an adult portion. We use the yellow for snacks, and the orange and blue for lunch. Nice to have both with and without dividers. They pack nicely into lunchbags. We get compliments on them frequently. They may seem pricey, but we get our money's worth out of them and keep ordering more.

These are well made and seamless inside! The lids are pretty tight but easy enough for a child to lift up. Washes up easily.

    Really like these!!!

I bought these for my kindergartener to take her snack to school. They're GREAT!!! She can get them open easily, they don't weigh her backpack down, even full of snacks and she really likes them! They clean up easily and are such a great alternative to plastic containers or baggies! We haven't used the single one yet, just the duo...I'm sure it will work out as well as the duo. Will buy more when my youngest child starts school, so he can also take them!

Add a rubber band, and you're golden

I got very tired of pulling mushed PB&J out of a sandwich bag when hiking - I wanted something reusable and squash-proof. The UNO and DUO are just about perfect - they are big enough to hold a decent amount of food for a day hike. They definitely aren't squash-able. My only complaint: the tops don't snap on tightly. But a rubber-band solved that problem. Recommended!

The Uno and Duo Lunchbots are perfect for kids' lunches. I avoid disposable sandwich bags like the plague, but the plastic sandwich boxes I got at the grocery store take up so much room in a lunchbox. Plus, I was getting tired of sending multiple containers for the kids to pry open and then keep up with. The Lunchbots are great--easy for kids to open, and the compartments are a good size for my 4- and 6-year old children. They're easy to clean because there aren't any nooks and crannies for food to get jammed into, and they can go right into the dishwasher. I've read reviews that the paint comes off the lid--I haven't experienced this, but I don't think it would really bother me anyway. I love these Lunchbots and will probably end up buying more.

I bought these to use for my son who is in 3rd grade for his school lunch. They seem to be well made but are bigger than I thought and heavy. I find that I tend to reach for the reusable snack and sandwich bags more often. I find these are easier to pack in his lunch box and not as cumbersome.

A little too large for kids' lunchboxes

    by Claire R - 11/2009

1 out of 1 customers found this review helpful

These take up a little too much room in the lunchboxes. Also, it would be more useful to me if one side was larger than the other so I could fit a dollop of hummus on the small side and lots of chips or veggies on the other. But, still, they have been useful and my kids like using them, although I don't use them as often as some of the other products I have purchased from this site.

    Very good container

    by Rebecca J - 11/2009

I really enjoy using my lunchbot container. I also bought the larger Eco container and between the two have plenty of room for my lunch. You have to be careful not to put anything moist on one side and something dry on the other - the dry part is bound to get a little wet. Overall, a very good container for my lunch.
