Design & Functionality
Carry your small snacks or side dishes in the Pico, and pair it with one of the other designs for a balanced meal. LunchBots are eco-friendly, stainless steel containers for your sandwich, wrap or other favorite snacks and side dishes. Made from food-grade Type 304 stainless steel, your LunchBots won't stain, rust or leach harmful chemicals into your food (which is why they're such a great alternative to cheap plastic containers). The bottom of the boxes are uncoated stainless steel, and the top of the colorful lids are powder coated - no VOCs emitted. Your food only comes in contact with stainless steel. They're sleek & sturdy, so your food won't get crushed, and a set of two fits perfectly in ACME's "6-Pack" lunch bag.

LunchBots are also available in regular Uno & Duo sizes for sandwiches/side dishes and Eco for larger main dishes or salads. With snack-sized partitions, LunchBots Pico makes it easy to buy fruit and snacks in bulk, which helps you save money over time. For more information, check out our article on waste-free lunches. Note that while LunchBots' lids fit tightly to hold in food, they're not water-tight & are best for solid foods. For liquid items like salad dressing, we recommend packing a Nalgene 2 oz. jar.

Materials
LunchBots are made from high-quality, food-grade Type 304 stainless steel. It resists stain and rust due to its chromium content, making it a favored material in food processing, dairy and brewing. It's also one of the safest materials for food storage and handling, because it's easy to clean, durable and sanitary. LunchBots have been tested and certified by Metallurgical Laboratories Type 300-series stainless steel and are lead free. View the lab results.

Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found in earth: iron ore, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen and manganese. Properties of the final alloy are tailored by varying amounts of these elements. There are more than 57 stainless steels recognized as standard alloys on the market. High-quality, sanitary-grade 304 stainless steel has low nickel content. It has excellent resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content, making it a material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewery industries. It's easy to clean, durable, inert and sanitary.

Sustainability
LunchBots eliminate the need for use-and-toss plastic baggies, wraps and aluminum foil, saving money and natural resources over time. Since stainless steel containers do not leach harmful chemicals like certain plastics do, they are a healthy, eco-friendly lunch-time alternative.

About LunchBots
LunchBots was born from its founder's belief in stainless steel as a healthier alternative to plastic - for our bodies and the planet. LunchBots' mission is to create safe, fun and usable food containers that are free from the toxins associated with some plastics. The company uses only lead-free, non-VOC and BPA-free materials manufactured responsibly in China by a company that has applied for ISO 9000 certification.

Care Instructions
Top-rack dishwasher safe. As with any other stainless steel product, we recommend hand-washing with mild detergent.

Stainless steel does not rust. If your container appears to have rusted, it is a harmless residue left behind from the electro-polishing process. (Electro charges remove fine particles from the stainless steel surface, remove impurities and seal it. Harmless electrolytes are left behind and may turn a rust color).

    Love love love it!

    by Corrine G - 06/2010

We use them every day. My daughter is the "allergy kid" and takes her own food with her everywhere we go. These look great, even after a year of washing. Lids stay on well, but are easy for a four year old girl with small hands to open and close by herself. Perfect for items we don't want crushed, like fresh berries. The largest size is for an adult portion. We use the yellow for snacks, and the orange and blue for lunch. Nice to have both with and without dividers. They pack nicely into lunchbags. We get compliments on them frequently. They may seem pricey, but we get our money's worth out of them and keep ordering more. Easy to clean.

These have been great for us all year. My kids can open them, they stay closed shut, and are easy to clean. My main complaint is that the paint has entirely chipped off of a few of the lids already. Most things I've ordered from this site have really lasted. But I don't want my kids eating food from a box with paint flaking off, whether it's safe paint or not.

    love it

I bought this for my son's lunch. We use it everyday. Cleans up great in the dishwasher, and lid never falls off. I plan to buy more.

    Not what iIexpected

    by Anne R - 03/2010

I bought two sizes of these containers that both had a divider. I thought they looked like a great product, however, after using them I found they are not what I had expected. The lids are not secure. In order to prevent the lids from falling off or food from leaking out of the containers I have to put some kind of string or ribbon tie around the container and top. Also, the bottom of the containers’ sides and the divider collect food making the containers difficult to clean. I like this brand other wise but would not recommend these styles of Lunch bots containers

    Handy for a toddler!

    by Michelle H - 03/2010

Rather than try to get my 2-year-old to eat fast food or something when we're on the go, I make sure he has something healthy in his Lunch Bots--like cut-up carrots in one side and raisins or trail mix in the other. It is roomy enough for a snack for an older kid, too. I wish the logo weren't so obvious on the cover, but otherwise, I have no complaints.

My daughter and I love Pico

    by Hitoko O - 12/2009

I stopped using plastic containers a few years ago when I learned about the risk of leaching chemicals. I tossed most of my reusable plastic bottles, cups and plates. But I have to admit I can't practically live without them so I use wax paper to prevent food touching the plastic. Well, is wax paper safer than plastics? I don't really know. So I was very happy to find a stainless steel lunch box for my kindergärtner. I bought Pico for her and Uno for me. They're safe, hassle-free (no wax paper lining) and cute. I wish you had a Pico without the divider. I'd love to buy one.

    Finally, the perfect sandwich box

    by Rebecca L - 11/2009

My son usually takes a half sandwich, fruit, and a snack/treat in his lunch every day. I bought this box after trying many other containers and this is nearly perfect. It fits his sandwich half and some fruit and nothing gets squashed. It cleans up easily and seems pretty tough. With the price, I'd worry about it getting lost, but my son is pretty good about bringing all of his reusables home and he loves his new sandwich box!

    LOVE this container

    by Margaret V - 09/2009

LOVE this container. Use it every day along with the Uno. My sandwich goes in the Uno and my Pretzels and nuts go into the pico. Perfect size for a single serving of each. The only down side is that the paint on the lid seems to scratch easily but I love everything else about this. I wish they made a Pico Single as that would fit a sandwich perfectly. The Uno works but my sandwich is dwarfed in the bigger container.

    LOVE THESE!

    by Nicole R - 09/2009

LOVE THESE! We have them in all sizes. We really need to order more. My daughter uses them everyday. She loves having her food put in her lunch bag in an orderly fashion. She also loves that her food can be sent hot or cold and stays that way while in her lunch bots.

    I love this!

    by Brenda C - 08/2009

I love this! It's the perfect size for snack for my 6 and 8 year old. The lid is not too hard to get off and I like the rounded corners. My children are fighting over it already, so I guess I better get another one! :)

A little hard for kids to open and close, but grea

    by TAmmy W - 08/2009

A little hard for kids to open and close, but great for a waste free lunch. A snap to clean up until you get to the corners of the dividers. Peanut butter can be a little tricky to clean out. Keeps your items seperated and fresh. I little pricey, but cheaper in the long run than constantly buying ziploc baggies. We have dropped them on the slate floor several times with no signs of damage.

I'm SO HAPPY to have found this product

    by Mary S - 07/2009

I'm SO HAPPY to have found this product. I have also been looking and never found anything except the large and cumbersome Indian Tiffin containers. While they have their merits, yours looks much easier to pack and handle for kids. BRAVO!! And thank you!

We use the divided LunchBot for my daughter's lunc

    by Nicole A - 07/2009

We use the divided LunchBot for my daughter's lunch every day. She is 16 months and goes to “school” (daycare). The divided LunchBot Duo is perfect as we try to send a “protein” (we’re vegetarians—so this is often slices of cheese, or cut-up veggie burger or “chicken” [soy] patty) and a veggie (e.g., edamame, corn, peas, mixed veggies)—the divided container allows for just the right portion sizes.
