About Mimi the Sardine
Mimi the Sardine was started by Pia Andersson in the late 80's. After designing and producing children's clothing for several major mail order companies including Hanna Andersson and Garnet Hill, the company now specializes in functional products made from eco-coated cotton fabrics directly imported from Sweden.
All of Mimi the Sardine items are manufactured locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. They take great pride in "made-to-last" quality, produced in accordance with strict environmental laws.
Care Instructions
Machine wash, air dry. For smaller spills, just wipe clean with a damp cloth.

I think the lunch bag works out just fine
I think the lunch bag works out just fine. At first I was really unhappy with the zipper but finally figured out that the flap just had to be put inside the bag. I also thought it was too small as I like to bring leftovers to lunch and two rubbermaid containers would not fit. I decided it works just fine and it makes me think about what I bring to lunch.

The Mimi the Sardine bag is adorable!
The Mimi the Sardine bag is adorable! My daughter immediately wanted one just like it. However, it's really too small for the plastic containers we use for our lunches, so I couldn't zip it closed. I'll have to find another use for it, because it's too cute!

Very cute bags
Very cute bags. My 5 year old and 2 year old love theirs so much, I bought one for myself. Plenty of room inside for a large lunch, plus a small Sigg bottle. Sturdy handles make it easy for kids to carry, and the waxy finish on the outside means I just wipe off spills with a wet cloth. We haven't had these long, but so far they're great!

Love the bag, it's cute and the fabric is easy to clean. Keeps things cool. Only wish it were a little bigger only holds a small lunch and proved a challenge if trying to fit in containers for salads etc.

I purchased this lunch bag for mainly taking my lu
I purchased this lunch bag for mainly taking my lunch to work. But I've found it works well with a small ice pack for short trips and outings. It was a little smaller than I expected but is working out well.

So far so good!
So far so good! I get a lot of compliments on "how cute" the bags are. It's a great size for the kids' lunches---I'm able to fit a sandwich, 2 small snacks and a small water bottle. The handle is easy for the kids to hold on to as well as sling it around the handle of the rolling back pack. The kids like them. We've only had them for a couple of weeks so I can't judge their durability over the long haul of a school year, but like I said earlier, so far, so good! I appreciate its eco-friendliness, that it is lead-free and that it's design has a little personality!

I bought this for my daughter with the thought in
I bought this for my daughter with the thought in mind that as she gets older, I can use it when she's done with it! Love this bag! Besides not only being super cute, it is big enough to fit a 16 oz. bottle along with the rest of the lunch and is easy to clean. This is a real winner. I could not be happier

Great lunch sack, stylish and big enough for a san
Great lunch sack, stylish and big enough for a sandwich, sides, drink and ice pack. My one cup and 1 1/2 cup containers fit into fine - the bigger ones not so much. Love the bright colors! Handles holding up to the 1 mile walk to/from work. After 2 weeks of use - just wiping it off keeps it clean. Haven't tried washing it yet.
