Nalgene® reusable bottles are a smart, sustainable alternative to use-and-toss disposables. Concerned about plastic? The Nalgene bottles we offer are made from safe, non-leaching HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) plastics (not to be confused with polycarbonate #7).

Design & Functionality
Nalgene LDPE 12 oz reusable bottles are lightweight, economical and virtually unbreakable. The patented hinged cap closure is leak-proof & helps protect contents from dirt and other contaminants. Easy to grip, especially for smaller hands. Fits standard bicycle cages, waist packs and backpack pockets. The neck configuration works with most major water purifiers and filters. Plus, you can freeze these bottles unlike metal bottles (allow room for expansion).

Sustainability
Nalgene bottles are reusable and 100% recyclable. Single-use, disposable water bottles (PET plastic) create millions of tons of unnecessary waste each year. According to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled. Using Nalgene reusable bottles help preserve natural resources while saving you money in the process.

Materials
Along with Polypropylene (#5), HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) are safe, non-leaching plastics. HDPE is a sturdy and reliable translucent plastic. Nalgene bottles made from HDPE resist UV penetration, which can damage and discolor the plastic. LDPE (#4) is flexible, impact-resistant and micro-wave proof. Both plastics are dishwasher-safe and able to withstand temperatures from -148 to 176° F (-100 to 80° C).

The Nalgene bottles come in a variety of sizes wnich are sometimes hard to find. The shap is conducive to carrying on running/walking treks. They seal well and don't leak even when upside down in my "workbag". I have had no problem with staining, even with cranberry juice. Good value for the product.

I love these reusable bottles

by Karen G - 02/2009

I love these reusable bottles. My girls are beyond the "sippy cup" stage so these bottles can also serve as a smooth transition from "no spill" to "its all spilling" cups. I pack them in thier lunch for school too! They are easy to clean and don't have that funky smell that most plastic bottles have.

I bought a couple of these Nalgene bottles for my kids to use in their lunchboxes. They are a good size, lightweight, easy to use, and, the best part, I am not nearly as upset if they lose the bottle like I would be if they lost their Sigg bottles!:)

Great product, just be sure the lid is on tight. Absolutely NO plastic taste and I feel so much better about the water I drink, even if I happen to leave it in the car

Our kids (6-8 years old) prefer them to our siggs

Our kids (6-8 years old) prefer them to our siggs I think because they are lighter and they know they are made in the USA, something we strive to purchase whenever possible. They are a little wide for the little ones hands but this does not seem to keep them from using them. At first drinking from them took some getting used to (the vent is hard to figure out) but that soon passed. We like it when they drop them because they dont break (not yet anyway) and they dont dent like our Siggs do. Great product/value for the money and made in the USA, gotta love that. I challange any one to find a water bottle BPA free and made in the USA for this price at any of the major big box stores....not gonna happen. Keep up the good work and keep America in the manufacturing business!!!

This bottle requires some "sucking muscles", but overall works okay. I do like the small 12 oz. size, which is convenient to carry, and easy to refill whereever I am. It is made with "better" plastic than its predecessors were, but they will probably find out in 5 years that we shouldn't be drinking out of this type of plastic either!

by Anne-Marie F - 10/2008

Although I felt I was being economical and mildly environmental reusing a store bought bottled water bottle to take to work everyday, I was concerned about the off gassing, etc. I feel much better all around using my nalgene bottle. It's small enough to fit in my re-usable polypropylene lunch bag, but large enough to get me through the day.

This is definitely not a bottle for toddlers

by michelle t - 10/2008

This is definitely not a bottle for toddlers. Mainly because when you try to drink from the spout it closes. My 2 year-old was frustrated; my 11 year-old was, too. It's mom's bottle now and I just have to hold it open with my thumb while I'm drinking...

The BPA-free bottles, including the big wide mouth

by Ellen L - 10/2008

The BPA-free bottles, including the big wide mouth 22 ounce and baby bottles, have served as a wake-up call to my family. The products have been liked by all, and we are doing more homework about where BPA might be found, so as to change other habits.

I am really happy with the 12 oz. Nalgene water bottles I purchased. I got them for my children, ages 4 and 6. They love the easy to pull-up spout. I like not having to worry about harmful plastics. They wash well in the dishwasher and seem sturdy. Thanks for a great product!
