Nalgene® 22 oz All-Terrain bottles are made with non-leaching LDPE (#4) plastic and feature a well designed sports cap for keeping contents dirt-free. 22 oz size fits bike cages & cup holders and has a wide mouth opening making it is easy to fill, empty and clean. They are both economical & dent-proof – ideal if you’re looking for a basic, no-frills alternative to use-and-toss water bottles. Plus, you can freeze these bottles unlike metal bottles (allow room for expansion). Like all the other bottles we offer they are also safe, recyclable, and (of course) reusable!

Design & functionality
Nalgene LDPE 22 oz reusable bottles are extremely lightweight, economical and virtually unbreakable. The patented hinged cap closure is leak-proof & helps protect contents from dirt and other contaminants. Indented bottle design is easy to grip, especially on the go. Shaped to fit standard bicycle cages, cup holders, waist packs and backpack pockets. The neck configuration works with most major water purifiers and filters.
Materials
Nalgene 22 oz All-Terrain bottles are made with LDPE (#4) plastic. Along with polypropylene (#5), HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) are safe, non-leaching plastics. HDPE is a sturdy and reliable translucent plastic. Nalgene® bottles made from HDPE resist UV penetration, which can damage and discolor the plastic. LDPE (#4) is flexible, impact-resistant and microwave-proof. Both plastics are dishwasher-safe and able to withstand temperatures from -148 to 176° F (-100 to 80° C). Nalgene bottles feature FDA compliant materials and are tested according to the requirements of the US FDA for food and beverages.
Sustainability
Nalgene bottles are reusable and 100% recyclable. Single use, disposable water bottles (PET plastic) create millions of tons of unnecessary waste each year. According to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled. Great water bottle!
I really like this water bottle. It is great to use during my workouts because of the top. I like the cover too. It protects the top from germs. I highly recommend this item!

Great water bottle
This is a great water bottle that can be frozen and you don't have to touch the top to drink out of it, keeping it nice and clean. I had to wash it with soap to get rid of the plastic-y taste but now it's great!

Totally unsatisfactory
I was deeply disappointed in these. The flip caps were all broken off within two or three weeks. Several of the sport tops would slip closed just from the pressure of your lips, so you have to hold them open with your teeth to drink. Bought eight of them for our family, and have already recycled them all - $60 wasted.

Great bottle. Squeezable and fits in a bike bottle holder. The cap is nice as it covers the mouth piece from getting dirt on it. This is my 2nd one and the first has lasted for over 5 years and still using it. I recommend.

We've owned several of these bottles for over a year now and find that they're great for carrying around in the car, for traveling, backpack, laptop bag, gym bags, and summer softball / basketball games. They can roll around in the bottom of the car or in the gym bag or bin full of softballs and they don't get crushed or leak. Since we're often outside, I love that the cover on the cap keeps the spout clean and I don't have to use grimy hands to open anything my mouth touches. The bottle opening is wide enough to fit ice cubes, and I prefer a see-through bottle so that I can see how much liquid is in there and what we've filled it with. I also carried a bottle around with me everywhere while I was nursing my baby, and it was easy to drink one handed and not spill a drop even with a baby in the other arm. I bought one bottle in pink so that my husband wouldn't take it and leave it in his car / backpack / gym bag and that's the only one I always know where one it is (so I'll be sure to get more in that color for me). These bottles get used frequently in our home - lost and found again repeatedly and they're still in great condition, and only 1 hinge broken after much abuse. We throw them in the dishwasher to clean them. I'm buying more of these so that I can pre-fill it with water / gatorade and keep them in the fridge so that we always have cold water and gatorade handy to grab and go.

LOVE these!!
We have several of these and have used them for over a year. Nothing has broken on mine or my kids. I love that I can close the top and don't have to touch the spout with my hands to open it. It does taste like plastic after a while...so if I know I'm going to be out long, I'll put lemon in it so it tastes fresh longer. :)

Great bottle, terrible tops

I have purchased at least 5 or 6 of these water bottles. Im disappointed that all of the tops have broken in two places. The flip top eventually breaks off at the hinge. I could live without the flip top but a small piece where the flip top snaps down in front also breaks off leaving a small hole. Water leaks out of this hole and makes it impossible for my kids to use without spilling water all down the front of themselves.

I love the safe plastic water bottle, but the sport lid is a nuisance. It's difficult to get a decent amount of water out, and with each consecutive sip I need to pull the device open again. The pressure from my lips closes it. I've finally started unscrewing the lid and drinking from the side of the bottle itself.
