The cotton string bags are exactly what I've been searching for over the last 2yrs. I wanted them to put my produce in at the grocery store rather than using those flimsy plastic bags the the grocery store provides. I use one bag for my lettuce, one for my tomatoes, etc. When I get the the check out the cashier can still weigh my purchases without adding any additional weight to the item. My only wish is that this item came in a smaller size. This current item expands nicely to hold up to 40 lbs. I cannot imagine me purchasing 40 lbs of tomatoes with one transaction. Over all: good value for the money, very useful item. I get lots of comments in the check-out line wondering where I got these bags because they're reuseable and I'm not having to deal with mountains of small plastic bags that i pull off the roll of bags in the produce department.

I really like this bag. I will be using it for pool/beach stuff. It is really cute and holds as much as you want to put in it, it just stretches!

I don't know what else I can say except these bags are everything I was looking for. This particular style, I used 3 bags and put my KitchenAid mixer parts in one, food processor parts in another, and hand mixer parts in the last one. I have alot of cedar wood in my house so I have them hanging from wrought iron hooks on the pantry door frames. They look awesome.

I have been using a "French string bag" that I bought at a specialty shop about 25 yrs ago and it's handles finally gave out, so I went in search of a replacement. The black bag I bought from Resuablebags is not only a good replacement, but it has features that make it superior to my original: long handles so that I can slip it over my shoulder and make it easier to carry multiples, stronger string so it should last even longer (although this feature makes it take up a little more room in my handbag), and the black color that won't show dirt. I am very pleased with both the quality of the bag and the quick service. I bought multiple bags both for my own use and to give as gifts, and will likely order even more in the future.

I first found one of these string bags in a London supermarket, where it was displayed at the check-out counter. I used that bag along with bulky canvas bags a lot of stores (even Wal-Mart)now sell for a dollar or so, and then was delighted to find the same string bag available on the Internet. I bought four black ones with the small handles and four purple ones with the long handle and wide shoulder strap. Grocery shopping in western Nebraska usually means a weekly trek to a giant grocery store or Super Wal-Mart, so it helps to have several bags. I haven\'t used a plastic bag in months and now carry at least one string bag in my purse all the time. The check out clerks are getting used to them, although they tend to underfill until I reassure them the bag can hold 40lbs and I will take responsibility for the security of the load. Even pellogrino bottles or wine, etc., doesn\'t need an extra bag; they can be stuffed in between other items and the bags just stretch out further. I\'d like to see a bigger shoulder bag---my purple shoulder bag is not as deep as the small handle bags.

I bought this for a light weight bag for my backpacking husband to use on hikes. He is always trying to use products with the least amount of weight possible for back packing trips in the Sierras. This bag is both light and strong. The plan is to use this to carry bulky water bladders from the water source back to camp. Hopefully now it can be a one person job!

This black cotton string bag is very attractive and the handles are the perfect length for holding on my shoulder. The bag is also very strong – much stronger than I am. I have to watch at the checkout that the bag is not so overloaded that I cannot lift it.

Omg I so love these bags. I want more & I also want to try the other bags. As I shop at walmart & bring my bags in & say I want no bags I get WEIRD looks, sad really. These bags r awesome they take up such little space, mine r inside of each other & in a nice ball, when I use them they r like a black hole, it holds sooooooooo much stuff, it still amazes me. I highly recommend. furthermore Ive been asked WHERE DID U GET THAT AWESOME BAG? & I would love to buy a bunch so I can give as gifts, the nice tags on the inside Ive used to tell ppl where they can get their own when they ask. I am so impressed with everything I bought & with the speediness of ordering till they were delivered. I am a happy person. LOVE these bags! Deceptively strong & fit an amazing amount of stuff (usually the equivalent of 3 plastic bags). Grocery checkers don't understand how to pack them, so I usually do it myself - no biggie. My only complaint is that the long handles stretch out way too much & end up hanging down too low. I like that you can tie them off to keep stuff from falling out on the way home, but am planning to get a set of short-handled ones as well - figured they'd stretch enough to fit normally over the shoulder. Overall, I'm a huge fan & always have a set of these in my car along w/ a couple of tiny Acme fold-up bags & a couple of Reisenthal Mini Maxi long-handled totes. Perfect trio for most shopping needs.
