Design & Functionality
Stronger and more eco-friendly than cotton or linen, these 100% hemp napkins are made from one of the most sustainable materials available. Fibers are processed without the use of any chemicals, so you can feel good about using them at every meal. Great for eco-conscious consumers who already bring their lunch to work in environmentally-friendly carrying cases, just stash one of these smart napkins in your pack and go. Or, use them at home, meal after meal. Once you make the switch to reusable napkins, you’ll be surprised at how little washing they require – and how many paper napkins you stop consuming.
Materials
Made from 100% fine-grade hemp processed without the use of any chemicals. Cultivated in China as early as 4000 BC, the hemp plant produces the strongest natural fiber known. Hemp fabric is three times stronger than cotton fabric of the same weight. With no known insect enemies and a high resistance to disease, there is no need to use harmful pesticides in cultivation.
These napkins are made with fiber-reactive and plant-based dyes, as are all ECOLUTION® products. Fiber-reactive dyes contain no heavy metals or known toxic substances, and meet all European Union criteria for being environmentally friendly. Fiber-reactive dye molecules bond permanently with the hemp fiber, significantly reducing the amount of dye entering the water system through production and home washing. Plant-based dies, such as oak, bilberry, pansy, and oregano are sourced locally from Romania, and are fixed using only environmentally-friendly mordants such as blue stone, alum, salt and vinegar.
Sustainability
Made to last and designed to be reused over and over again, these environmentally-friendly and reusable napkins can help eliminate thousands of throwaway paper napkins and towels. Rather than tossing paper napkins into the trash as soon as they are dirty, these hemp napkins are designed to be used several times, thrown into the washing machine and used again. Since hemp fabric is very resistant to degradation from mold, bacteria, salt water, sunlight, abrasion, and chemicals, it can handle the abuses of daily use and last far longer than conventional fabrics.
Care Instructions
Machine-wash in warm water with like colors. Hang or lay flat to dry. We do not recommend machine-drying hemp napkins, as the dry heat is hard on natural fibers such as hemp and flax. Iron, if desired.

I love these napkins. I ordered two to start with and am in love with the shade of green these hemp napkins can come in. They go in the laundry, which I only need to do once a week or so. I've used one as a handkerchief before in a pinch but it was a little scratchy for that. Perfect as a napkin, scritchy as a hankie. I feel so eco-concious using them, they're fabulous. I haven't used a paper napkin in months. Thank you!

The sage color was fine (though it arrived a little darker than the color on the website) and I love the idea of using a reusable material. However, hemp is much stiffer than I realized, so the napkins aren't as soft as I would have liked. But I'm still happy to help save the environment, so we'll continue to use the hemp napkins.

I bought 2 sets of the hemp napkins. One in acorn and one in the green. The acorn one is a little more brown than it shows in the picture but it is still a nice color. They seem to hold up well. I've washed them a couple times. They're soft and sturdy. I love not using paper towels or paper napkins all the time!
