Hey, ReUseIt, you've made a customer for life: A year or so ago I bought these bags and they were thicker and too small to fit my garbage bins. After I emailed you guys commenting that these bags should be bigger to go over the lip of bins, you changed the bags! They're now plenty big to fit all my bins. And I like that they're made from recycled plastic and biodegradable. Good job!

These are a great idea to use in place of non-biodegradeable plastic kitchen bags. I wish they had a draw string to help hold them on the trash can and to close them when disposing in the garbage.

I bought the, I think, 8 gallon bags, and these are SO much better than the thin Ruffies bags. Those leak liquid through the bottom seems. These do not. I use them for food waste.

I got both the 30 gallon and the 13 gallon bags. The 30 gallon bags are much sturdier and work great! So happy they are also good for the environment!

Here's what BPI (a third party company that certifies products for compostability) has to say about these so called biodegradable plastics (emphasis theirs):

"Testing has shown that...additives will accelerate the fragmentation of traditional polymers. ...HOWEVER, FRAGMENTATION IS NOT A SIGN OF 'BIODEGREDATION' and there is no data to show how long these plastic fragments will persist in the soils or marine environments....From a practical perspective, this means that a plastic bag that is littered in the desert will probably fragment in a few months. Yet, these fragments will persist for years or longer." *

In other words, if a polymer breaks down small enough to get into the bodies of microbes, is that really a good thing? These are still man-made agents. Plastic littered in the ocean already gets into the bodies of marine life, it doesn't make it food. We don't want these in our soils, our oceans, or our bodies!

I wrote to reuseit.com with my feelings about their carrying this product, and I urge you to as well. This is greenwashing folks, started by the plastic industry, and unfortunately being furthered, presently, by reuseit.com.

Note: a similar product that is being sold to us greenies (and I'm glad to see ReuseIt has steered clear of it) are plastic forks labeled "biodegradable" finding their way into our composting efforts. I've replaced my regular kitchen garbage bags with these. They are strong, are just as good as the regular ones, but don't fill up the landfills!

What I really want in a biodegradable garbage bag is one that is made from vegetable product rather than recycled plastic. Of course, recycled plastic is better than regular plastic, so I will continue to buy your bags until I can find the kind I really want. If you could offer on your website a biodegradable garbage bag made from vegetable prouct in a 4-gallon or 5-gallon size, which is made in the USA, I would be THRILLED and would buy them from you all the time.

I'm always curious what the workers at the dump are observing with all the "biodegradable" bags...anyway, these bags are durable, I haven't had a mess yet. I have used at least 10 of the 24 13-gallon bags and I put a lot of animal meat scraps, wet coffee grounds, veggie/fruit scraps (yes, i know, compost...getting there.). I will buy these bags again, unless I start composting then I think trash bags are not necessary to use at all for dry trash.

I like these bags for two reasons: one, they are supposed to biodegradable in a landfill. Other "biodegradable" bags are not, they need special treatment to biodegrade. Two, they are made in the USA, so I feel like I'm supporting our economy by purchasing them. They are thinner than standard garbage bags, but that is not a problem for us.

I like using these bags for obvious environmental reasons. They're quite sturdy and of appropriate size. I just wish they had handles to make carrying easier.

I have been using all 3 sizes of reuseit's biodegradable garbage bags for about a year now, and I think they are just great - durable and just the right sizes. I recently cheated on them and bought a different brand of biodegradable bags because these were out of stock, and I kicked myself afterwards. The other brand disintegrated if they came into contact with even a little bit of moisture, while the reuseit bags always held up great. I now buy 3-5 rolls at a time to make sure I never run out!
