A Smart Choice For Kids
As parents, we've been searching high and low for a safe option for kids bottles, especially with disturbing reports surfacing about polycarbonate (Lexan) bottles. Finally, we found SIGG Kids bottles with a totally inert inner lining that won't leach harmful chemicals. Toss those plastic "sippy" cups in the recycling bin and move to SIGG Kids! – an incredibly well made reusable bottle that is great looking and safe. SIGG Kids Bottles are recommended for ages 2 and up.
Innovative bottle top and cap is designed for little hands. It adds an extra protective seal against dirt and insects and is color coordinated with each bottle. Thanks to its simple design - half a turn to open or close - it is easy for children to use and leak-proof. Click here to see what is under the cap.
SIGG Lining – Taste Neutral & Safe
The proprietary SIGG bottle liner is taste neutral and resistant to fruit acids and isotonic drinks, guaranteeing easy cleaning and no taste transfer. This special, baked-on inner liner is a water-based epoxy resin and has been independently tested to prove no detectable leaching of harmful chemicals like BPA (learn more about BPA). The liner is flexible and crack resistant even if the bottle is dented.
The special liner ensures great taste and easy washing out – even after you realize it's been under the car seat with grape juice in it for a week!
Swiss Quality – Durable and Stylish
SIGG bottles are made in Switzerland. You get Swiss precision, design and craftsmanship with every reusable bottle. Extruded from a single piece of pure aluminum, a SIGG bottle has no seams ensuring leak-proof performance and virtually unbreakable properties. They are ultra-lightweight – weighing no more than a comparable sized plastic bottle.
The brilliant exterior of SIGG bottles is due to a solvent-free, eco-friendly, powder base coating which is baked on to create vibrant colors and eye-catching designs. In fact, SIGG bottles are part of the permanent Design Collection at the Museum of Modern Art. These bottles are functional works of art.
Sustainability
100% recyclable. Using SIGG bottles helps replace wasteful, use-and-toss single serving plastic and paper beverage containers, while saving you money in the process. Reusing durable SIGG bottles ultimately helps you consume less over time.

Problems with Plastic
After we learned of recent reports (e.g. Hazards of Hydration Sierra Magazine) of evidence of leaching of hazardous chemicals from bottles made of polycarbonate (Lexan) we set out to find a replacement to our cool looking Nalgene brand reusable water bottles. "Most at risk, says Colborn, are people with developing endocrine systems: pregnant women and newborns, followed by young children..."
SIGG is our answer.
Fact
As plastic degrades through aging and wear & tear of washing, leaching of potentially harmful chemicals increases.
I'm not sure the lid choice is the best for these
I'm not sure the lid choice is the best for these kid bottles? The lid gets in the way as they are drinking. Seems like the adult lids are better for kids?

The twist top is hard for my 2 year old to manage
The twist top is hard for my 2 year old to manage. Sometimes he gets it right, but other times he leaves it open and it floods his carseat or stroller. Also he threw/dropped it out of his stroller on the sidewalk and the plastic cover for the top broke off. There was a small dent on the bottle too, but not bad. I've also noticed that the larger sizes tend to be heavy for him to manage when they are full. That is why they probably reccomend them for older kids. Overall, I like them better than sippys, I just have to be careful to make sure he closes it when finished.
