Healthy & Safe
SIGG reusable bottles have been independently tested to prove no detectable leaching of harmful chemicals like BPA (learn more about BPA). SIGG's proprietary bottle lining is a water-based, non-toxic coating that is baked into the interior walls and remains flexible and crack resistant for the life of the bottle. SIGG's lining is not plastic – it is a micro-thin epoxy. Due to the finish of the liner, there is much less chance for bacteria build-up with a SIGG as opposed to plastic containers. The liner is taste-neutral and resistant to fruit acids and energy drinks, ensuring that your drinks taste like your drinks every time.

"While the polycarbonate #7 (aka Lexan) bottles leached a significant amount of BPA, the SIGG bottles – both new & used – showed no detectable BPA." -- Dr. Jonathan Chun PhD, Alliance Technology 2007

"According to the results of our evaluation, use of a SIGG bottle does not add to the beverage any particles or components which are dangerous to human health" -- Dr. Ulrich Nehring, Institute Nehring, 2007

Materials
Designed and manufactured in Switzerland from a single piece of pure aluminum, each bottle is perfectly extruded for uniform, seamless construction. About 20% lighter weight than a comparable-sized Lexan plastic bottle, SIGGs are incredibly durable, virtually unbreakable. Just ask the guys at Backpacker magazine who recently tested the leading bottle brands. Test results showed SIGG as “The World’s Toughest Water Bottle”. Click here for more.

The brilliant exterior of a SIGG is created using a solvent-free, eco-friendly, powder-based coating which is baked on to create a vibrant finish. SIGG reusable bottles are beautifully designed, portable works of art that are a perfect blend of function and fashion. In fact, SIGG bottles are part of the permanent Design Collection at the NY Museum of Modern Art. Like a fashion house, SIGG drops and introduces new styles every year, keeping designs fresh.

Sustainability
Not only are SIGG bottles designed to be reusable, they are 100% recyclable at the end of their very long lives. Single-use, disposable water bottles (PET plastic) create millions of tons of unnecessary waste each year. In fact, according to the Container Recycling Institute, less than 15% of plastic water bottles in the U.S. are actually recycled – most wind up in landfills where they can take up to 1000 years to biodegrade. Using SIGG bottles helps replace wasteful, use-and-toss single-serving plastic and paper beverage containers, while saving you money in the process. Reusing durable SIGG bottles ultimately helps you consume less over time.

About SIGG
For 100+ years, SIGG has utilized Swiss precision and craftsmanship to produce high-quality reusable bottles. The history of SIGG Switzerland dates back to 1908 when metal processing specialist Ferdinand Sigg established an aluminum product factory in Biel, Switzerland. The SIGG bottle became a fixture in Swiss households; in fact, every member of the Swiss Army had a SIGG bottle issued as standard field gear. A USA subsidiary was launched in 2005, but SIGG operations still remain in the quaint village of Frauenfeld, Switzerland, to this day. In addition, as a member of 1% for the Planet, SIGG USA donates 1% of all sales to helping preserve our environment.

    Problems with Plastic
To learn more on potential leaching from certain plastic containers, BPA, phthalates & additional info showing why SIGG is a safe choice, check out the BPA & phthalates category in our Newsroom.

    Care Instructions
Rinsing your SIGG thoroughly under the faucet with warm, soapy water at the end of every day and letting it air dry with the top off provides sufficient cleaning in most cases. When more thorough cleaning is required, you can use baking soda and vinegar. For tough jobs, pick up some SIGG cleaning tablets and a SIGG brush. Do not use a hard bristled brush to clean the interior of your SIGG bottle as this may damage the liner.

    My son loves this bottle

    by Kimberly I - 12/2008

My son loves this bottle. He went right for it when it arrived in the box. He wanted to drink out of it right away. The cute designs are awesome. I will order other designs as they become available. My concern was cleaning the sports cap. I thought bacteria would get stuck in there over time, but it actually comes in two removable pieces for easy cleaning.

    by Meredith A - 12/2008

My older son managed to mangle his SIGG in three days, but his 3-year-old brother LOVES his SIGG and it hasn't dented yet (knock on wood). And he's very independent, so he likes that I don't need to help open it.

    by Kim G - 10/2008

These bottles are a great size for my 2 and 4 yr olds. The few drawbacks after 4 months of use is that 1) they dent fairly easily. 2) the cap is very breakage prone. The toddler dropped her bottle and the mouthpiece cover chipped. The 4 year old opened hers with gusto and the hinge snapped. 3) the toddler cannot figure out the mechanism of turning the mouthpiece to open it. I feel the kleen kanteen is more durable and more straight forward for use, though the mouthpiece has no cover.

I love siggs and I needed a small one to carry in

I love siggs and I needed a small one to carry in my purse for my 7 month old with water. My 4yr old loved it so much I had to go back and get a pink one for her. It's a great size for a quick outing and small enough to carry them both in my bag. I'm not sure it would be a good one for small kids to carry on their own, since they do dent, but since I carry them and the kids just drink and give them back to me, for me it's a great choice.

My daughter and I love the bottle

    by MARISOL E - 10/2008

My daughter and I love the bottle. This is the 3rd one I've gotten for her, and I got some for my brother's baby and some friend. I do recommended this product, it's safe, ecological and sure beats any plastic sippy cup out there!

    by Christiane F - 09/2008

This is the best reusable bottle we've owned to date!! And believe we've owned plenty (all plastic, however)! My daughter LOVES the design and the ease of use. I should have purchased 2 bottles because we use it every day. I love that it is not made of plastic. I like that it gives just enough liquid for lunch and yet it doesn't weigh down the lunchbox. I also like that the cover is securely attached and keeps dirt away from the drinking spout. I highly recommend this product.

    by Mary J - 07/2008

I like the Klean Kanteen better - because the opening is larger. The bigger opening is easier to clean. However, this cup is great for water.

    My kids love these bottles

    by Jennifer B - 07/2008

My kids love these bottles. The little kids (under 2) have tossed them around quite a bit. They do get dents but work just fine. Paint is quite sturdy considering the number of times they've been dropped!

This bottle is perfect for little hands

    by Concetta H - 06/2008

This bottle is perfect for little hands....my 2-year old handles it easily even when it is full. The new cover that's built in is great, too. Fewer parts to lose in the dishwasher!

It's a great bottle, that is easy to use

    by kelly j - 06/2008

It's a great bottle, that is easy to use. My only problem is with the cap. Toddlers toss things and the cap cracks very easily. I've replaced it twice already. Plus, it won't open all of the way (it's attched and won't bend far enough open), so when she's drinking, it hits the side of her cheek, which annoys her.

The SIGG Bottle for my infant daughter is wonderful. It took a few days but she has learned to drink right from the spout at 6 months of age. It is a great alternative to plastic! Thanks

This is a great product - my grandson has found snapping the cap closed an easy accomplishment and he's 1! His mom loves it because it is a safe product and doesn't spill - thanks for providing this quality - especially for young children. Marilyn
