SIGG the original Swiss bottle—an incredibly well-made reusable bottle that is great looking and safe. New for 2006, SIGG Thermal bottles are made from high-grade stainless steel and are double-walled with vacuum insulation.
Large 0.7L size is ideal for office and day trips. SIGG Thermo bottle features a top lid that covers a screw cap. Top lid unscrews to become a double-walled drinking cup. Screw cap below can be loosened a half-turn to pour liquid from thermal bottle (does not need to be fully removed in order to pour). It's double-walled with vacuum insulation, keeping drinks hot or cold for up to 8 hours. Our coffee was still piping hot hours after filling the thermal bottle.

The bottle is quite heavy to carry
The bottle is quite heavy to carry. I was surprised at the weight. On the plus side, it holds a lot and I probably could have ordered the smaller one. It's very well made in any case.

This thermos is rad!
This thermos is rad! I took it with me on a work trip but didn't open it at all throughout the day - when I got home at around 6pm, my tea was still super hot! It's definitely worth the price, even though there are cheaper travel mugs out there. I bought this thermos because coffee in my travel mug would get lukewarm after about an hour. The Sigg thermos is big - I usually put about 4 cups of coffee in mine and it fills up almost to the top. One thing to note is that doesn't fit in regular car cup holders because of its size, but the lid doesn't leak when properly closed so you can also just toss it into your car or bag without worrying about it spilling. One potential downside is that you can't really use it while driving (at least not safely) because you have to unscrew the lid (but then again, it's a thermos, not a travel mug). A big plus is that it's easy to clean. I'd definitely recommend this bottle to anyone.

Nice & light, but it's hard to get the stopper in
Nice & light, but it's hard to get the stopper in the right position to seal it securely. I've had it leak pretty badly on several occasions.

My new Sigg container keeps beverages really hot f
My new Sigg container keeps beverages really hot for a long time; however one caveat (and I so wish this wasn't true), even with the stopper COMPLETELY tight, liquid will pour out the top. I haven't figured out if I have a defective one or if this is just a design flaw. It's a bit annoying and frankly if I purchased this at a store I would take it back and exchange it for another exact one just to check but since I bought it online it's not annoying enough to pay to ship it back.

I have used as SIGG Thermo Bottle for over a year
I have used as SIGG Thermo Bottle for over a year now and have been impressed by the quality construction and ability to keep coffee hot. When I bought an additional SIGG Thermo Bottle, I was surprised that it did not have the spring-loaded push-button seal stopper, but a simple turn and pour stopper. I have found that the turn and pour stopper is easier to clean and pours faster. Simpler is definitely better in this case.

Every description that I read of this product said
Every description that I read of this product said that it's made entirely out of stainless steel, and that the cap doubles as a drinking cup. I received it in the mail yesterday... And the screw top, as well as the inside lining of the cap, is made entirely of a light, hard plastic (!) Now, even if this plastic is BPA free, I am going to be using it every day, for hours at a time, over many years, to contain *hot liquid*. Whatever kind of plastic it is, I can't imagine that it won't leach into hot coffee, tea, etc-- especially over a long period of time. I would never drink hot coffee or tea from a mug lined with plastic, whatever kind of plastic it is. The truth is that most of the plastics on the market haven't been tested thoroughly enough (or at all) to know how they react when exposed to hot liquid, and what kind of side-effects their possible leaching will have over time. I think SIGG should maks absolutely clear that the screw top and mug are made of plastic. Finally, the thermos is made in China. I know SIGG claims that it ensures quality standards in its Chinese plants, but, given constant news of manufacturing duplicity in this country, I still feel uneasy about products made there. I plan on returning this thermos and finding one- if such a product exists- made entirely of stainless steel.

I received the two thermoses I ordered promptly and with no defects. The product itself is excellent - keeps my coffee hot for hours and is very easy to clean. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a green thermos. Andrew M. Fairfax, VA

This thermo bottle was of lower quality than I exp
This thermo bottle was of lower quality than I expected especially the inner screw cap and the outer lid. I've seen better quality for similar prices elsewhere, unfortunately I did not find those stores until after I ordered and received this one. I would not recommend this.

I've had this thermos for about six months now and
I've had this thermos for about six months now and am very pleased with it. It keeps water nicely cold in the summer, and the other seasons my tea stays hot. I've brewed tea at 8am and had it still be hot 12 hours later! Something else that I just discovered today is that if you brew loose tea in it, the leaves don't pass through the pour spout, but the tea does. Buh-bye Lipton, Hello good tea! :)
