Design and Functionality
Skoy is a paper towel replacement that has the absorbency and cleaning power of a sponge, without unwanted bacteria. Wet your Skoy, squeeze out excess water, then get cleaning! A Skoy absorbs as much as 15 paper towels and dries so quickly that bacteria don’t have the chance to grow. They hardly take up any space, so it’s easy to store one anywhere you’d like to keep a roll of paper towels, like your kitchen, bathroom or garage. For smaller jobs and spaces, you can cut the Skoy down to whatever size you prefer. You can use cleaning products with Skoy, but it works extremely well with just water - another way it helps save money and resources. Similar to a natural sponge, Skoy lasts longer when used for cleaning hard surfaces as opposed to textiles like carpets.
When it does need a cleaning, you can throw Skoy in your dishwasher or washer/dryer. Or, place it in the microwave wet for 1-2 minutes to keep it germ-free. At the end of its life, Skoy is completely biodegradable. If you throw it in your compost, it will break down in about 5 weeks.
Materials
Made of 100% biodegradable cotton and wood pulp cellulose. Water-based colors and inks. Completely breaks down in compost in about 5 weeks. Skoy’s are packaged with a raffia tie with a recycled paperboard information card.
Sustainability
In America alone, 3,000 tons of paper towels wind up in landfills each day. Not only does using Skoy cleaning cloths divert waste from the landfills, it also reduces the number of trees that have to be cut down for their production and the energy required to package and transport bulky rolls of towels. Because of its small weight and size, the carbon footprint of transporting Skoy is minimal, as verified by an independent consultant.
About Skoy
Skoy was conceived by two women who wanted to make a superior cleaning cloth, with the added bonus of it being environmentally friendly. The Skoy factory has invested heavily in an integrated environmental recycling and disposal facility. Production by-products are purified and recycled as much as possible in the process, and regeneration baths are returned to production by an evaporation process. Wastewater is treated at the site’s biological wastewater purification plants.
Care Instructions
Washable (machine, dishwasher, microwave & dryer safe). Chlorine use not recommended. You can also microwave a wet Skoy for 1-2 minutes to sanitize it.
Tips
- Break the paper towel habit by hiding your paper towels under your sink or in another out-of-the-way place. Place a Skoy reusable cloth where you normally keep the paper towels to encourage the whole household to opt for a reusable option first.
- Use different color Skoy cloths for different jobs - one color for the kitchen counter, a bathroom cloth, one for common areas of the house and one for floors.

Excellent value
I love the skoycloths. I have passed them out to my 'green' friends and they all love them too. I have used mine for over 3 months. I rarely use paper towels anymore (just to wip the dipstick when I check my oil). They are just as easily washed in the dishwasher as in my regular wash and I can sanitze them in my microwave. The Skoy Cloth is now an essential part of my kitchen and cleaning kit.

I like the Skoy clothes because they are very absorbent. I would like to say that I don't use paper towels any more, but that's not true.I have cut down on their use. I think that the Skoy clothes could replace regular sponges, though not the scrubbing ones. I like the clothes because they are machine washable.

A Fantastic Alternative
I love, love, love this product! I'm amazed by how durable this towel is. I purchased my first order in 12/09 and my very first Skoy towel still holds up like it's just been opened. I use it daily & can't live without it. Good riddance to wasteful paper towels :)

Who needs paper towels?
So far I have enjoyed using the Skoy Towels. I can do everything with Skoy that I had previously used paper for and I can reuse and reuse and reuse. I would avoid putting them in the dryer because they come out very stiff and curled.

I use these for just about everything! I love that you can just throw them in the washing machine. They're super absorbent and wipe up dirt and dust really well too. Thank you for this product!! I am saving lots of trees by using these :)

Skoy paper towel replacement

Skoy paper towel replacements are possibly the best green purchase I've made, aside from reusable bags. Just wet them, clean, rinse, hang to dry, done, reuse! Microwave wet for 1 to 2 minutes if you're concerned about bacteria, or put them in the washing machine. Normally, I would have gone through 2 1/4 rolls of paper towels cleaning my entire house. I rotated between one package of four Skoy's and 1/4 roll of paper towels, amazing! I probably could've used just one but I was so excited at how well they worked. I gave one to a friend who cleaned all of his camping gear with one Skoy, after camping! I have been giving these to everyone as gifts. I love the colors too. Everyone should own a package or two. These replacement paper towels have put an end to huge bags of trash and huge packages of paper towels, and a money saver too.

This is partly my fault for not paying enough attention to the reviews before ordering, but this product does not replace paper towels for me. I did not realize that you need to get these "towels" wet before using them, and that they are primarily useful for cleaning. I already use small towels or rags for cleaning. I use paper towels to dry things off (my hands, if I wash them in the kitchen, or produce when I rinse it before cooking, because I don't want to use the same towel I use to wipe off the counter--yuck). For my purposes this product is NOT a paper towel replacement and has sat unused on a shelf since I unpacked my order. I have ordered some People Towels instead as that looks like a more useful product for me.

I purchased this item knowing that my minimally-green husband would probably not use it. He is going reluctantly into the green movement I used one of these cloths to clean the glass-topped table and stove, which are notorious for streaking. I also used it to clean all of the kitchen appliances. It did a wonderful job of cleaning, and left no streaks on anything. Even my husband was convinced. I am slowly trying to covert other family members to use Skoy for their paper towel jobs.

These wipes are great! We haven't completely stopped using paper towels, but we have cut down considerably on their use. The Skoy wipes are far better than sponges at wiping up liquids and are useful in the kitchen as dish clothes and for general cleaning of counters, sinks, etc. in the kitchen and bathroom. The varied design colors allow designating each cloth for a specific use. I have given these to several family members and they love them also.

I have never used reusable paper towels before, but these are everything I had hoped. I like the way they feel and work. I have used them to clean every room in my house! I dust with them, clean mirrors and windows, wipe down my counters, sinks toilets and everything else I can get my hands on. I will but more!

love these towels. They do not completely replace paper towels, but they can do many of the same jobs. They are a nice size and dry very quickly. Very easy to keep clean. I just throw them into the dishwasher or washing machine whenever I run them. The size is perfect - slightly larger than your hand. Easy to store and convenient.

I still have regular paper towel around, but I have cut down considerably since buying these. I use them for all kitchen clean-ups. They wash well and hang dry, so I just toss one each day into the laundry and grab another one. Great idea!
