Presenting…the Bag Snagger, a new tool designed specifically for removing unsightly plastic bags and other litter from trees.

The Bag Snagger works so well, it's now being used by several organizations in New York City, including the Central Park Conservancy and the New York Restoration Project founded by singer/actress Bette Midler. But the Bag Snagger is more than just a serious tool; its inventors have so much fun with it, snagging bags has replaced golf as their favorite pastime!

The basic Bag Snagger has a 12 ft. telescoping fiberglass pole with Snagger attachment allowing you to reach approximately 20 ft. up. Add up to four of our lightweight 6 ft. fiberglass extension poles to increase your reach to nearly 40 ft allowing you to get rid of virtually all ugly litter stuck in trees.

Cool Facts

  • Golf enthusiast and tree lover Ian Frazier used to climb trees all the time as a kid. He loved to hang out above the fray and chaos below. Later as an adult resident of Brooklyn, he began to notice how stuck plastic bags marred the ordinary pleasure of gazing up into tree branches against a blue sky. The plastic bags became symbolic for him – lovely, peaceful tree tops were now festooned with chaos in the form of ugly litter. Finally, he got so annoyed with seeing trees strewn with plastic bags and other wind-blown flotsam and jetsam, he decided to do something about it.
  • He teamed up with a jeweler and friend of 30 years, Tim McClelland. Tim had the know-how and facilities to create the very first Bag Snagger. The tool they designed, spent years refining and eventually patented worked like a charm, and the duo found it was surprisingly fun to successfully yank plastic trash from otherwise unreachable perches. In fact, bag snagging quickly became their preferred sport over golf. Joined by Tim's brother Bill, the snagging team quickly garnered public attention with an interview on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered," and the endorsement of celebrity and New York City environmental activist Bette Midler.
